Abstract

The emergence of artificial intelligence has disrupted conventional legal assumptions about identity, subjectivity, and criminal responsibility. This study investigated the normative and systemic inadequacies of Indonesia’s legal system in responding to transhumanistic cybercrime, particularly involving the manipulation of digital identities. Employing a normative juridical method and incorporating statutory, conceptual, and comparative approaches, this study critically analyzes structural, substantive, and cultural inertia within the legal framework. Drawing on Lawrence Friedman’s legal system theory and post-human criminology, this study identifies a deep ontological crisis wherein non-human actors and synthetic identities remain legally unrecognized. A comparative analysis of the European Union, the United States, Estonia, and Japan illustrates the varying degrees of legal adaptation, from algorithmic accountability to digital identity sovereignty. The findings reveal that Indonesia lacks a coherent legal regime to address algorithm-driven harm or recognize digital identity as an autonomous legal subject. The study proposes legal reforms that include establishing a dedicated legal framework for digital identity protection, extending criminal liability to autonomous systems, and integrating post-human perspectives into legal education. In the age of algorithmic governance, law must transcend biological essentialism to remain legitimate, responsive, and just.

Abstract

The age of SMK students falls into the category of adolescents who tend to need guidance and direction, especially in the school environment, namely career assistance that can be provided by Counselling Guidance (BK) teachers. Many adolescents tend to spend more time with their peers than with their teachers and parents. This research examines the effectiveness of interpersonal communication between counselling teachers and vocational students towards career maturity in terms of communication effectiveness in the form of openness, positive attitude, support, equality, and empathy. Career maturity consists of the elements of concern, curiosity, confidence, and consultation. This research uses a mixed method that combines quantitative and qualitative methods with the help of descriptive, correlation, and regression tests, as well as in-depth analysis through interviews and observations. The results showed that the communication intervention of counselling teachers was more effective in increasing vocational school students’ career maturity.

Abstract

Many Civic Education courses in higher education suffer from low student engagement, primarily due to passive learning models that limit motivation and collaborative interaction. Although cooperative learning strategies have been widely studied in primary and secondary education, their integration into civic-oriented university courses remains underexplored. This study investigates the application of the Group Investigation (GI) model to improve university students’ learning motivation and collaboration in Civic Education. Employing a participatory action research approach in a higher education setting, the study was conducted in two cycles involving 68 undergraduate students enrolled in a general education course. Data were collected using observation sheets, questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and paired-sample t-tests, while qualitative data were examined through thematic analysis. The results showed a statistically significant improvement in students' learning motivation (from M = 73.7 to M = 84.2, p < 0.001) and collaborative character (from M = 71.4 to M = 83.6, p < 0.001). These findings suggest that the GI model supports both the affective and cognitive aspects of learning by promoting student autonomy, inquiry-based dialogue, and mutual responsibility. Theoretically, this study contributes to the literature on cooperative learning in higher education and the design of democratic learning environments in Civic Education. Practically, it offers an adaptable model for educators seeking to develop soft skills through group-based inquiries. The research implies that integrating cooperative methods into civic education may offer a viable pathway for developing character and motivation in future professionals.

Abstract

This article aims to analyze the political positioning strategy of the NasDem Party in the context of the Prabowo Subianto – Gibran Rakabuming Raka administration after the 2024 elections. This study employs a qualitative method, with a literature review as the primary data collection technique. The findings reveal that NasDem implements three main strategies: market-oriented (aligning the party's stance with public perception), differentiation (creating strategic distance from coalition parties to establish an independent image), and functional positioning (optimizing its role in parliament as a tangible contribution). These strategies have enabled NasDem to build an image as a rational, ethical, and non-opportunistic party while maintaining long-term political flexibility. These findings contribute to studies on Indonesian political parties, particularly in understanding the dynamics of party positions outside executive power and the importance of positioning in maintaining electoral support sustainability within a complex multiparty system.

Abstract

This study explores a digital philanthropic conflict between a donor and a recipient that emerged due to differing expectations regarding the use of collected donation funds. This case reflects broader structural tensions in donor-recipient relationships, particularly concerning transparency, control, and autonomy. Adopting a qualitative descriptive approach with a secondary case study method, this research draws from online media documentation and analyzes the conflict using Lewis Coser’s theory of social conflict. The analysis focuses on the functions of conflict in clarifying social boundaries, strengthening internal group solidarity, and enabling normative transformations. The findings reveal that such conflicts function not only as manifestations of interpersonal disagreement, but also as catalysts for social reflection, role renegotiation, and the redefinition of ethical expectations in charitable practices. In digital spaces, these tensions are amplified through public discourse, resulting in stronger group polarization and the solidification of collective identities. Theoretically, this study contributes to sociological debates on the constructive role of conflict in maintaining social order and cohesion. Practically, this highlights the urgent need for clearer ethical standards and mutual accountability in digital donation systems. These insights deepen the current understanding of how online philanthropy operates within the mediated public sphere and its implications for evolving civil societal norms.

Abstract

This study critically investigates the visual strategies employed in the packaging of male supplement products in Indonesia, emphasizing how prevailing design practices frequently prioritize erotic imagery and hyper-masculine aesthetics over educational and ethical communication. Utilizing a qualitative descriptive method grounded in semiotic analysis and visual communication design (VCD) theory, this research examines selected product packaging through the lenses of color, typography, composition, and imagery. The findings show a tendency to sexualize visual elements, like exaggerated male symbols, overtly sexualized depictions of women, and overly aggressive color schemes. This reduces health products to sexual commodities. These strategies not only disregard local cultural values but also obfuscate crucial medical information, including dosage, ingredients, and potential side effects, thereby undermining consumer health literacy. A critical evaluation of the subject packaging reveals its contribution to the perpetuation of patriarchal gender norms and reinforcement of toxic masculinity. Furthermore, there is a failure on the part of the packaging to adequately address the professional responsibilities inherent to health communication. This phenomenon reflects a systemic failure within the industry to understand design ethics and cultural representation. The study calls upon producers to transition from superficial marketing tactics to more reflective and responsible design strategies. Integral to this approach is the fostering of interdisciplinary collaboration among designers, experts in gender studies, and cultural scholars with the objective of developing packaging that respects social values while conveying accurate information and building long-term brand credibility. It is imperative to reposition packaging as a medium of education and ethical representation to transform the male supplement market into a space that supports both health and dignity.

Abstract

The existence of dual regulations governing the State's preferential right to tax debt repayment presents a distinct issue in resolving matters related to taxpayers who have been declared bankrupt by the court. The two domains of public law and civil law both regulate the privilege of priority in the repayment of debts by the debtor. Therefore, an in-depth analysis is necessary to address the issue of tax debt repayment when a taxpayer has been declared bankrupt. The objective of this study is to analyze and seek answers regarding the position of the state as a creditor in the repayment of tax debts, as well as to provide an analysis of the regulation concerning the State’s preferential right over tax debts. The research method used is a qualitative normative approach, utilizing secondary data and descriptive-analytical techniques for data analysis. The results of this study indicate that the state holds a higher position than other types of creditors as regulated in the Bankruptcy and Suspension of Debt Payment Obligations Law (BSDPO Law), and therefore must be given priority. However, the two sets of regulations remain unreconciled in terms of harmonizing the position of creditors in fulfilling tax debt obligations. Moreover, the regulation regarding the repayment of tax debts mandates that such debts must be settled before the repayment of other types of debts owed by the debtor.

Abstract

The swift adoption of Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) options has significantly changed the online shopping experience, particularly among younger demographics, such as Generation Z and Millennials, in Indonesia. Given that many individuals in this age group do not possess traditional credit cards, BNPL has become a favored and easily accessible solution that fits their digital lifestyle. This research examines how the rise of BNPL affects the purchasing choices, financial outlooks, and expressions of identity of younger consumers. The results indicate a transition in consumer behavior that prioritizes convenience, facilitated by digital platforms, where payment methods serve as a form of self-expression and reflect personal lifestyle preferences. The findings highlight the social and psychological aspects of deferred payment systems, offering valuable insights into the evolving dynamics between young consumers and financial innovation.
