Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the arm muscle strength of handball players in Pekalongan City, as assessed using a push-up test. Based on the survey results, the arm strength of these players was largely in the poor category. When broken down by gender, both the men's and women's teams showed inadequate results. The findings of this study can motivate coaches and sports practitioners, as well as members of handball organizations, to analyze arm muscle strength in this sport. From observations and interviews conducted with the Pekalongan City Handball Team, it was discovered that training takes place every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. The focus of the training sessions provided by the coaches primarily revolves around skills such as passing, shooting, movement, and competitive play. This training format was chosen to improve physical skills while making the sport more engaging and enjoyable for the athletes. The research design used in this study is a quantitative descriptive design. This study will utilize a survey method to collect data on the arm muscle strength of the Pekalongan City handball team. This quantitative descriptive study utilizes a one-time testing method, where the assessment is only conducted once. This approach was applied to draw a sample from the existing population for this study. This research will be conducted on the Pekalongan City Handball Team. Based on the measurement table, the arm muscle strength of the Pekalongan City Handball Team shows that 10 athletes (66.67%) are in the "Poor" category, 4 athletes (26.67%) are in the "Moderate" category, and only 1 athlete (6.67%) is in the "Good" category. This distribution shows that the "Poor" category is dominant, representing more than half of the total athletes. No athlete reached the "Very Good" or "Very Poor" category. This indicates that the majority of team members do not have the optimal arm muscle strength needed to improve their performance in handball.

Abstract

This study aims to determine public perceptions of sports activities carried out on campus. The perceptions in question include the views of students, lecturers, campus staff, and the surrounding community on the benefits, impacts, and implementation of sports activities. The method used in this study was a descriptive survey ‘with an instrument in the form of a questionnaire distributed to respondents from various backgrounds. The results of the study showed that the majority of respondents had a positive perception of campus sports activities, especially in terms of health, character building, and increasing social interaction. However, several critical notes were also found regarding uneven facilities and noise disturbances felt by some of the surrounding community. . These findings are expected to be input for the campus to improve the quality and management of sports activities to be more inclusive and have a positive impact overall

Abstract

This study aims to analyze: (1) What is meant TikTok social media, (2) How is the behavior of mahasiswa pendidikan kepelatihan olahraga Gorontalo State University, (3) Is there an influence TikTok social media on students of the pendidikan kepelatihan olahraga Department Gorontalo University. This study quantitative descriptive method. The sample this study amounted to 175 students who were determined using the Simple random sampling technique. The independent variable in this study Tiktok social media, the dependent variable is student behavior. Data collection techniques conducting interviews, observations, and using questionnaires. The prerequisite test consists of normality and linearity tests. Analysis of research data using simple linear regression, the coefficient of determination of the T test.

Abstract

This research aims to produce a media for the Form of Horse Kick B (Double) Horse Kick Exercises Based on Local Wisdom in Single Art Pencak Silat Athletes. This research is a Research and Development (R&D) using the Plomp design model, the Plomp development model consists of three stages, namely the Initial Investigation Stage, the Prototype Making Stage, and the Assessment Stage. The subjects in this study were divided into two groups, namely the Experimental Group of 15 Pohuwato Sacred Tapak Athletes and the Control Group of 5 Pohuwato Sacred Tapak Athletes. The media of this book is assessed by material experts, linguists, and media experts using questionnaires. The data collection technique in this study is to make observations, distribute questionnaires filled out by athletes as research subjects and test tests and research documentation. The data results are in the form of qualitative data that are analyzed using qualitative descriptive and descriptive statistical analysis. The results of the research were obtained from the product media of the book of Horse Kick Exercise B (Double) with the title of the book Forms of T2lohand Exercises Based on Gorontalo local wisdom. The results of the overall feasibility percentage obtained from material experts, linguists, media experts, and respondent responses (FGD) show that the product of the T2Lohand Exercise book is free of the local wisdom of Gorontalo "Very Feasible" and can be used as a reference in pencak silat training.

Abstract

Physical education plays a crucial role in shaping students’ cognitive, social, and emotional abilities. This study aims to analyze the relationship between physical education and students’ academic achievement through an interdisciplinary approach. Using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method, this research follows the guidelines of Kitchenham & Charters (2007) and the PRISMA 2020 protocol. Twenty national and international journal articles published between 2020 and 2025 were thematically analyzed to identify patterns linking physical activity, cognitive function, learning motivation, and academic outcomes. The findings reveal that physical education positively influences academic achievement through three key mechanisms: enhancing cognitive functions through physical activity, strengthening motivation and self-regulation, and applying interdisciplinary learning approaches that integrate physical and academic aspects. The review also indicates that physical education fosters social values and character development that support students’ academic success. Therefore, physical education should not be viewed merely as a physical activity but as a holistic learning medium that reinforces kinesthetic, cognitive, and emotional intelligence. The results of this study are expected to serve as a reference for curriculum development and educational policy focusing on the integration of physical fitness and academic excellence.

Abstract

This study aims to comprehensively examine the implementation of cognitive and affective approaches in physical education and their implications for developing students’ character and social skills. A descriptive qualitative approach with a literature-based method was employed to analyze theoretical perspectives, pedagogical models, and empirical studies published between 2010 and 2025 from databases such as Google Scholar, ScienceDirect, Taylor & Francis, and SpringerLink. The findings indicate that instructional models such as Teaching Games for Understanding (TGfU) and Teaching Personal and Social Responsibility (TPSR) significantly enhance strategic thinking, self-reflection, social empathy, and moral responsibility among students. Furthermore, the physical literacy framework serves as an integrative approach that unites physical, cognitive, and affective domains to foster meaningful and holistic learning in physical education. Therefore, integrating cognitive and affective approaches contributes substantially to developing students who are intellectually capable, morally grounded, and socially resilient.

Abstract

This study aims to critically examine the implementation of cognitive and affective approaches in physical education and their implications for developing students’ character and social skills. Abstract

This literature review explores the role of physical education in enhancing students’ physical and mental health, with a focus on its impact on physical fitness, psychological well-being, resilience, and social competence. By synthesizing findings from ten peer-reviewed international articles published between 2021 and 2025, the review highlights various contributions of school-based physical activity, including structured physical education lessons, the sport education model, high-intensity interval training (HIIT), and physical literacy programs. The analysis reveals that physical education offers significant benefits, such as reducing stress, anxiety, and depression, while improving self-esteem, social interaction, and overall well-being. Furthermore, effective program designs such as 15- to 45-minute sessions held at least three times per week consistently yield positive outcomes. Innovations in curriculum and the integration of physical literacy also enhance students' resilience and support the development of long-term healthy lifestyle habits. Nevertheless, challenges such as variation in intervention design, limited school resources, and unequal implementation remain obstacles. This review affirms that physical education plays a strategic role as both a preventive and promotive intervention in modern education and has the potential to serve as a foundational pillar for students’ lifelong physical and mental health

Abstract

Badminton is a sport of small ball games played with rackets and shuttlecocks over a net into the opponent's area. The goal is to hit the shuttlecock so that it falls in the opponent's area and prevent the opponent from doing the same. This study uses a quantitative descriptive research type. The population in this study was 30 players. The sample in this study was 10 athletes with a sampling technique using purposive sampling. The instruments used in this study were tests and measurements to measure physical condition. Data analysis techniques were collected through conversion of physical condition tests and with percentages. The results of this study were obtained based on two components of physical condition after being converted, including: (1) strength in physical condition in wall squats of 9 is in the Very Good category, (2) endurance in physical condition v02max of 9.2 is in the Very Good category. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the physical condition of the Bungo Sport Badminton Association athletes of 4.55 is included in the Sufficient category.

Abstract

Internal and external factors play a vital role in the learning process of students, especially in physical education. Internal factors include students’ attention, motivation, and curiosity, while external factors encompass available facilities, motivation from family and educators, and environmental conditions. The use of interactive learning media has significant potential to enhance student motivation and engagement, though challenges such as limited technological access and teacher readiness need to be addressed. This study reviews relevant literature to examine the influence of interactive media on elementary students’ learning processes and emphasizes the importance of developing learning models that integrate both internal and external factors to make learning more engaging and effective. The findings indicate that the success of learning heavily depends on these factors, and interactive media can serve as an important innovation in physical education to improve learning outcomes and students’ health.
