Abstract

This abstract discusses students' mathematical understanding abilities. The ability to understand mathematics is an important aspect of education that has a direct impact on student achievement. From this research, it can be concluded that factors such as teaching methods, learning motivation, and environmental support have a great influence on increasing students' understanding of mathematics. Interactive and contextual teaching methods are proven to be more effective than conventional methods. Apart from that, intrinsic and extrinsic motivation play an important role in encouraging students to be more active in the learning process. This study uses literature analysis methods to explore various examples of the application of Mathematical Understanding Skills for Students. The results show that a good understanding of mathematics can facilitate decision making and increase efficiency in various activities. In conclusion, a deep understanding of Mathematical Comprehension Ability has significant practical value in increasing the effectiveness of resource management and process optimization in various aspects of daily life.

Abstract

Kemampuan siswa bernalar,mengumpulkan informasi, menafsirkan, dan menemukan solusi dari permasalahan sehari-hari siswa dapat dikatakan sebagai kemampuan literasi matematis. Melalui kemampuan literasi matematis, mereka memahami matematika dan dapat menerapkannya dalam kehidupan nyata. Tetapi pada saat pengamatan awal didapati bahwa kemampuan literasi matematis siswa masih jauh dari harapan, ini dapat sebabkan oleh pembelajaran yang tidak sesuai, untuk itu Peneliti menerapkan model pembelajaran PPR untuk meningkatkan kemampuan literasi matematis siswa. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mengetahui adakah peningkatan kemampuan literasi matematis dengan model pembelajaran PPR. Populasinya adalah seluruh siswa MTS se-Kecamatan Kebayakan, dan sampelnya adalah MTs N 2 Takengon, MTs S Ar-Rahman, dan MTs S Kebayakan. Data didapat dari pre-test dan post-test. Data-data ini lalu diuji normalitas dan homogenitasnya, terakhir dianalisis menggunakan uji t. Hasil uji t menunjukkan nilai t hitung sebesar 6,02 lebih besar dari taraf signifikan 5% sebesar t tabel 2,00, Artinya terjadi peningkatan kemampuan literasi matematis siswa yang signifikan dengan menggunakan PPR. Walaupun begitu kemampuan literasi matematis harus terus ditingkatkan karena hasil pada tiap level PISA masih dibawah 60%.

Abstract

Pengembangan modul ajar berbasis inkuiri menjadi salah satu inovasi pembelajaran matematika untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa. Penelitian bertujuan merancang dan mengembangkan modul ajar berbasis inkuiri yang efektif, menarik, dan sesuai kebutuhan siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika. Penelitian menggunakan metode Research and Development (R&D) dengan pengembangan model ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Subjek penelitian terdiri dari siswa sekolah menengah pertama (SMP). Hasil uji coba menunjukkan bahwa modul ajar berbasis inkuiri mampu meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa secara signifikan. Modul ini memberikan pengalaman belajar yang interaktif, menantang, dan berpusat pada siswa, sehingga mendorong mereka untuk aktif mengeksplorasi konsep matematika dan menerapkan strategi pemecahan masalah secara sistematis. Temuan diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi terhadap pengembangan bahan ajar yang inovatif dan mendukung pembelajaran yang lebih bermakna bagi siswa.

Abstract

This research discusses the results of research using a quasi-experiment (Quasy Experiment) for the Influence of the Inquiry on the Science Learning Outcomes of Class V Students at SD Negeri 101739 Sei Mencirim TP 2024/2025 Student learning outcomes in the experimental class using the Inquiry model for the posttest obtained an average score of 80 and a complete KKM score, namely a frequency of 15 students with a percentage of 88.23%. There is an influence of the Inquiry model on the science learning outcomes of class V students with material magnetism and electricity in Class V SD Negeri 101739 Sei Mencirim TP 2024/2025, this is confirmed by the results of hypothesis testing with a sig value of 0.000.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the effect of self confidence on the mathematical communication skills of class VII at MTs Swasta Atu Lintang Takengon. This research was conducted in clas VII of the MTs Swasta Atu Lintang Takengon. This type research is ex post facto. The population of this research is all students in class VII of MTs Swasta Atu Lintang Takengon for the 2019/2020 academic year with total 20 students. The sample used was a saturated sample of total sampling. Data collection were questionnaires and tests. The data analysis techniques in this research is inferential statistical analysis with partial and multiple analysis as well as simple and multiple linier regression. The result of of data analysis show that there is an influence of self confidence on students’ mathematical communication skills.

Abstract

Based on the background of the problem in this research, namely the low mathematical communication skills of class VIII students at the Mawaridussalam Islamic Boarding School due to their lack of mathematical communication skills to learn and participate actively in mathematics lessons, the learning model applied so far seems monotonous which is still centered on teachers and mathematics learning in The Mawaridussalam Islamic Boarding School, especially in terms of building materials, has not implemented the Animaker learning model and media. The aims of this research are: 1) to determine the effect of the Inside Outside Circle type cooperative learning model on the mathematical communication abilities of class VIII students at the Mawaridussalam Islamic Boarding School, 2) to determine the effectiveness of using Animaker media on the mathematical communication abilities of class VIII students at the Mawaridussalam Islamic Boarding School. Based on the results of test calculations at a significance level of a - 5%, it is known that the t count is (19.716 > 2.032), then Ho is rejected and H is accepted, so it can be concluded that there is a significant influence of the Inside Outside Circle type cooperative learning model on students' mathematical communication skills with the help of Animaker. Based on students' mathematical communication skills with the help of Animaker using a student response questionnaire, each student's average score and percentage were obtained in the "Very Good" category. The questionnaire was used to determine student responses to students' mathematical communication skills using the Inside Outside Circle learning model assisted by Animaker

Abstract

This study aims to produce a valid, practical and effective Canva Interactive Learning Media product based on Malay culture on the material of linear equation systems and inequalities of one variable. Also to determine the level of mathematical literacy skills at SMP Negeri 3 Tanjung Beringin. This type of research is a Research and Development (R&D) development study. The subjects used in this study were 32 students of class VIII SMP Negeri 3 Tanjung Beringin. The analysis of the Canva interactive learning media value from media validator experts was 78.5% with very good or valid criteria for use. For material experts with a percentage of 78%, the category is Very valid. The classification of the teacher's practicality questionnaire meets very practical with a percentage of 94% and the student response questionnaire score gets an average of 90% categorized as very practical to use. Effectiveness is obtained from the results of the N-Gain calculation, a comparison value of 0.75 is obtained with a high or very good effective category. In other words, the development of Canva interactive learning media is said to be developing with a percentage of 90%. The level of literacy ability before being given learning media with an average value of 66.37 is classified as low, but after being given learning media, students were given a post-test so that the average score of students was 91.875. It can be concluded that the level of mathematical literacy ability in students of SMP Negeri 3 Tanjung Beringin is classified as high.

Abstract

This research aims to produce a valid, practical, and effective Malay culture-based Student Worksheet (LKPD) on the set theory material for seventh-grade students. The study uses the 4-D Research and Development (R&D) model. The subjects of this research were 32 students from the seventh grade of SMP Negeri 3 Tanjung Beringin. The analysis of the LKPD scores by the validators resulted in an index of 0.96 from the material expert, categorized as high or very valid, an index score of 0.96 from the media expert, also categorized as high or very valid, and an index score of 0.93 from the language expert, categorized as high or valid. The teacher's questionnaire classification met the criteria of "very good" with an average score of 4.8 out of a maximum score of 5.00. The student questionnaire results met the criteria of "strong" or practical with a percentage of 86.09%, indicating that the Malay culture-based LKPD has practical quality. The effectiveness was obtained from the N-gain calculation, with an average of 0.77, categorized as high, showing that the Malay culture-based LKPD is effective in improving student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the improvement of students' mathematical communication and problem-solving skills through the implementation of cooperative learning models, namely Teams Games Tournament (TGT) and Think Pair Share (TPS). Data were collected through mathematical communication skill tests, mathematical problem-solving tests, observations, and interviews. The results indicate a significant improvement in students' mathematical communication and problem-solving skills using TGT and TPS models compared to conventional teaching methods. The TGT group showed an average increase in pretest and posttest scores of 19.8 points in communication skills and 21.9 points in problem-solving skills. The TPS group showed an average increase of 18.9 points in communication and 19.9 points in problem-solving. Meanwhile, the control group showed an average increase of only 8.2 points in communication and 9.4 points in problem-solving. The study recommends the broader application of cooperative learning models and teacher training to enhance teaching effectiveness.

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the effect of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) learning model on the mathematical communication skills of class XI MAS students at the UNIVA Medan Project, with the help of the FlipHTML5 application. The method used in this research is quasi-experimental with a factorial design. Data collection was carried out through mathematical communication skills tests and statistical analysis to test hypotheses. The results showed that there was a significant increase in the mathematical communication skills of students in the experimental group compared to the control group. The average posttest score for the experimental group was 85.52, while the control group was 78.04. It is indicated that this difference did not occur by chance, but rather was the result of differences in the treatment applied. In addition, the FlipHTML5 application was proven to be effective in improving students' mathematical communication skills with an average score percentage of 73.63% in the experimental class compared to 71.37% in the control class. These results indicate that the use of the FlipHTML5 application in learning with the PBL model makes a positive contribution to improving students' mathematical communication skills.
