Abstract

As Head of State, a President has a very vital role in efforts to maintain state sovereignty. However, in the 2024 general election in Indonesia, the President reaped negative sentiments identified as the term "Dynastic Politics," which could potentially damage the democratic system. This research is oriented toward identifying and analyzing the President's political leadership strategy in the 2024 election by implementing Weberian conflict theory. Actualize the qualitative description approach with the type of literature study. The data collected will be understood, recorded, and analyzed using Weberian conflict theory. Then, conclusions can be drawn with deductive patterns. The study results stated that charismatic leaders in this regard are more than just fixated on traditional principles of authority, as Weber argues. But also charismatic leaders who are on formal legal authority (President). The President, in this case, carries out a political strategy to form a political dynasty by using the existence of his charismatic leadership. By maintaining legitimacy rather than democratic principles, this strategy will continue to create conflicts with negative implications for charismatic leaders.

Abstract

This research explores the cultural significance of Dewi Sri among the indigenous communities of Kampung Naga and Kampung Cireundeu, focusing on the similarities and differences in her essence as well as the relationship between these beliefs and Ecofeminism. Conducted in Tasikmalaya Regency and Cimahi, the study employed an anthropological approach with a comparative method to analyze religious practices and ancestral values. Findings revealed that both communities regard "goah" as a sacred area for storing staple foods, accessible only to women, who perform rituals honoring Dewi Sri with offerings like coconut and golden banana salads. This reflects the values of Spiritual Ecofeminism, emphasizing the interconnectedness of nature, femininity, and spirituality. The research highlights how Dewi Sri symbolizes a spiritual representation of women, serving as a medium for promoting sustainable environmental practices within these communities. Contribution: The research enriches academic discourse by linking indigenous knowledge systems to contemporary Ecofeminist frameworks, thereby fostering a deeper appreciation for the role of cultural heritage in environmental stewardship.

Abstract

This study examines the role of religious education in shaping students' independence and character development, particularly within Islamic boarding schools (pesantren). Religion plays a fundamental role in instilling moral values and guiding behavior, and in the pesantren environment, religious practices such as communal prayers, Qur’an recitation, and adherence to Islamic rituals foster noble character traits among students. Islamic education in pesantren not only deepens students' religious knowledge but also encourages the application of Islamic teachings in daily life, promoting personal growth and social responsibility. This study uses the Service Learning (SL) approach, combining academic learning with real-world community engagement. SL projects were conducted within pesantren settings, allowing students to practice autonomy and responsibility through community-centered projects that reflect Islamic values of self-reliance and compassion. Results indicate that students demonstrate a significant understanding of independence, relating it to Islamic principles such as self-sufficiency, resilience, and trust in God after putting forth effort. Findings suggest that students internalize the concept of independence not only as the ability to manage their own needs but also as a commitment to positively impacting their surroundings. The SL approach strengthens this sense of responsibility, bridging theoretical lessons with practical applications that enhance social skills, critical thinking, and self-discipline. The study concludes that pesantren education, enriched with SL-based activities, effectively nurtures independent, socially responsible individuals prepared to face contemporary challenges. Contribution: This research contributes to the discourse on educational methodologies in religious contexts, providing a framework for enhancing character education through experiential learning that aligns with Islamic principles.

Abstract

The World Bank said that the Citarum River was the most polluted river in the world, which led to safety measures and practical solutions. At the same time, this problem opens up opportunities for ecotourism, but it depends on how involved the people of the Citarum River are. A study looks at the roles that people from Tarumajaya village played in the planning, implementation, and evaluation phases of Lake Cisanti ecotourism. The research is based on a case study of Tarumajaya village, Kertasari sub-district, Bandung Regency, and Lake Cisanti's location. Interviews, non-participant observations, and documentation studies are all ways to collect data. There are three kinds of participation: planning, putting things into action (like protecting the environment and doing other things), and evaluating. This study shows how community involvement could help clean up rivers, restore nature, and make ecotourism stronger. Contribution: The research emphasizes the critical roles that local residents play in all phases of ecotourism development—planning, implementation, and evaluation. This underscores the importance of community engagement in environmental management efforts.

Abstract

Nature school is an educational institution that implements a learning model by nature. This learning model combines exploration and theory to provide balanced skills. This study aims to analyze the efforts to improve student literacy and identify the obstacles faced in its implementation at Nature School (Sekolah Alam) of Bandung. This research specifically discusses the effectiveness of literacy activities in the learning model with nature. The research approach used is a qualitative approach with a case study type. The results show that literacy activities in the nature learning model help improve students reading and writing skills. Each level has different achievements, but with the same process, including reading literature to gain initial knowledge, exploration of the surrounding environment to broaden horizons, and application of the results of reading and exploration into writing. The obstacles in this process include differences in student abilities, where there are students who read quickly and slowly, as well as difficulties in communicating what has been read and vice versa. Contribution: This study highlights the innovative integration of nature-based learning with literacy development, demonstrating that engaging students in their environment can significantly enhance their reading and writing skills.

Abstract

Gadget addiction in children is a growing concern in the digital age, negatively impacting their physical, social, emotional, and academic development. Parents play a vital role in preventing this addiction by understanding their children's developmental needs and guiding them toward healthier activities. Engaging children in sports can effectively reduce gadget dependency, as studies indicate that excessive screen time decreases physical activity. Parental involvement is essential, particularly as mothers often take a more active role in their children's lives. This study utilizes parental guidance and a literature review to explore the importance of parental education in promoting balanced gadget use. Ultimately, the findings highlight that parents are crucial in shaping their children's personalities and fostering positive habits for healthy development. Contribution: The findings underscore the necessity for targeted interventions that empower parents, particularly mothers, to take an active role in shaping their children's behaviors and promoting a balanced lifestyle in an increasingly digital world.

Abstract

This study explores the potential for a community-building process by using marketing techniques to plan an orchestra performance in Bandung. Under the University's sponsorship, the Parahyangan Orchestra (Parchestra), an orchestral music community, is organizing this orchestra event. In addition to being analyzed from a sociological standpoint, the presentation of the correlation of community building also intersects with Parchestra's marketing beliefs and techniques. The research method employed was qualitative, with an internal comparative study approach to two concerts held in 2023. Data were gathered through interviews and documented observations. Based on the findings of the study, Parchestra may be able to interact with stakeholders in order to learn about each other's expectations. One of the keys to building a great community is to learn about the audience's expectations as well as its internal management. However, the focus of this research is on the interaction between Parchestra and its audience. Thus, more investigation is required to look at the viewpoint of other interested parties. Contribution: The research incorporates a sociological perspective, examining how community dynamics influence and are influenced by cultural events. This intersection of sociology and marketing provides a richer understanding of how orchestras can connect with their audiences and stakeholders, thereby enhancing the overall cultural experience.
