Abstract

The selection of bore pile drilling equipment is a technical decision influenced by multiple interrelated factors. In construction practice, subsurface conditions cannot be fully determined during the planning stage, while operational constraints and considerations of time, cost, and risk further shape the decision-making process. This paper presents a literature-based review aimed at developing a conceptual framework for selecting bore pile drilling equipment, with emphasis on subsurface uncertainty and its implications for construction execution. The study adopts a literature review approach by examining relevant scientific publications, standards, and regulations from the past ten years. The findings indicate that equipment selection should not be viewed as a single or absolute decision, but rather as a multidimensional and context-dependent evaluation process. The proposed framework is intended to support practitioners and researchers in understanding drilling equipment selection as part of risk management in bore pile foundation works

Abstract

The availability of emergency medicines in remote areas with limited healthcare access is a crucial issue. The development of Family Medicinal Plants (TOGA) through the concept of a living pharmacy presents a strategy to achieve community independence in providing traditional medicines. This community service activity aims to increase the knowledge, skills, and awareness of the Pilubang Village community in planting, caring for, and utilizing medicinal plants. Implementation methods include interactive counseling on plant types and benefits, practical demonstrations of planting techniques, and assistance in making products such as instant ginger drinks and aloe vera ointments. Evaluation results show a significant increase in participant understanding, the formation of a village living pharmacy management group, and the availability of a variety of ready-to-use medicinal plants for family first aid. This program has proven effective in strengthening community health independence and can serve as a model for sustainable TOGA management at the village level.

Abstract

The juvenile criminal justice system in Indonesia is designed to provide special protection for children in conflict with the law by prioritizing the best interests of the child. One form of such protection is the implementation of rehabilitation as an alternative to punishment. Rehabilitation views children not merely as offenders, but as individuals who are still in the process of development and possess significant potential for change. This study aims to analyze the role of child rehabilitation as an alternative form of punishment within the juvenile criminal justice system in Indonesia and to examine the obstacles in its implementation. This research employs a normative legal research method using statutory and conceptual approaches, supported by relevant primary and secondary legal materials. The findings indicate that, normatively, child rehabilitation has been recognized as an alternative punishment consistent with the objectives of the juvenile criminal justice system and the principles of restorative justice. However, in practice, rehabilitation has not yet become the primary option in handling cases involving children in conflict with the law. The main obstacles include limited facilities and infrastructure, differing interpretations among law enforcement officials, and social stigma against child offenders. Therefore, strengthening the implementation of child rehabilitation is essential through a shift in punitive paradigms, enhancement of rehabilitation institutions, and active involvement of families and communities to ensure that rehabilitation functions effectively as a humane and future-oriented alternative to punishment.

Abstract

Data security is a crucial aspect of modern information systems as digital data exchange via the internet increases. One widely used solution to protect data confidentiality and integrity is the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) cryptographic algorithm, which has three main variants based on key length: AES-128, AES-192, and AES-256. This study aims to analyze and compare the security characteristics and performance of these three AES variants based on a literature review of five relevant national journals. The research method used is a literature review with an analysis and synthesis approach to previous research results. The results show a consistent trade-off between security level and computational efficiency. AES-128 excels in speed and resource efficiency, making it suitable for devices with computing limitations. AES-192 offers a balance between performance and security, while AES-256 provides the highest level of security at the expense of increased processing time and resource usage. The conclusion of this study emphasizes that the selection of an AES variant must be tailored to system requirements and data sensitivity levels, and opens up opportunities for further research related to optimizing AES implementation, particularly in modern web application environments.

Abstract

This study examines the forms of linguistic politeness and the factors influencing its use in Indonesian language instruction at SDN Satu Seruni Mumbul. Employing a descriptive qualitative design, the study involved teachers and students as participants, with spoken classroom interactions serving as the unit of analysis. Data were collected through classroom observations, semi-structured interviews, and document analysis, and were analyzed using an interactive model comprising data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings demonstrate that linguistic politeness is realized through mitigated directives, expressive utterances such as appreciation and apologies, the appropriate use of address terms and pronouns, and persuasive strategies that reduce coercive communication. Furthermore, linguistic politeness is influenced by four interrelated factors: teacher modeling, family communication practices, exposure to digital media, and the broader school social environment. The study concludes that Indonesian language instruction functions not only to develop students’ linguistic competence but also to reinforce communicative ethics and character development. These findings underscore the pivotal role of teachers in cultivating a culture of linguistic politeness through instructional design and exemplary communicative practices.

Abstract

Listening instruction on hikayat texts in senior high schools often encounters low student learning motivation due to instructional practices that lack contextual relevance and insufficient integration of students’ cultural backgrounds. This study aims to enhance students’ learning motivation in listening to hikayat texts through the implementation of the Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) approach. The research employed a collaborative classroom action research design using a lesson study framework consisting of the stages of plan, do, and see. The study was conducted in class X-1 of SMA Negeri 2 Praya and involved 36 students. The research was carried out in two cycles. Data were collected through learning motivation questionnaires, cognitive achievement tests, classroom observations, and reflective documentation. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive quantitative and qualitative methods. The findings reveal a significant improvement in students’ learning motivation following the implementation of CRT. In the pre-action phase, students’ motivation was predominantly categorized as low to moderate. After the implementation of CRT in Cycle I and Cycle II, the proportion of students with high learning motivation increased substantially, reaching 72% in Cycle II, while no students remained in the low-motivation category. These results indicate that the CRT approach is effective in fostering culturally relevant, meaningful, and engaging listening instruction for hikayat texts at the senior high school level.
