Abstract

Mathematics learning can be realized by collaborating with the culture found in the community. The meron tradition is one of the cultures in Sukolilo Pati with a religious theme aimed at commemorating the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad. This study aims to explore more deeply the geometry of the meron tradition in Sukolilo. The research method used in this study is a qualitative method with an ethnographic approach.  This type of research is explorative research.  The data analysis techniques used in the research are data reduction, data presentation (data display), and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate the existence of ethnomathematics in geometry material which can be reviewed from each part of the meron. In the circular mustaka meron, in the gunungan section there is a curved side space, namely the tube, and in the ancak meron section there are various kinds of geometric shapes such as triangles, persegi, trapezoidal rectangles and rectangular pyramid spaces. Then there are elements of geometry on the top of the ancak such as points, lines, angles, midwives, and space.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze field dependent (FD) and field independent (FI) cognitive style abilities based on learning outcomes through a systematic literature review. Education plays an important role in developing individual potential, where students' cognitive style is one of the determining factors in understanding concepts. Cognitive style refers to the way an individual receives, stores, processes, and presents information. The research method follows the systematic literature review (SLR) stages with a focus on three research questions: (1) educational levels that are often studied, (2) mathematical abilities that are measured, and (3) the influence of gender differences on cognitive styles and learning outcomes. Data was collected from Google Scholar and Mendeley with inclusion criteria from 2015 to 2024. The research results show that the education level most researched is Junior High School (SMP), with the main focus on mathematical problem solving abilities. Additionally, it was found that cognitive style and gender significantly influenced mathematical problem solving abilities, with female students showing advantages in mathematical communication and learning motivation. This research provides insight into the importance of understanding differences in cognitive styles in the learning process and their influence on learning outcomes, and emphasizes the need for teaching strategies that are tailored to students' cognitive needs.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the impact of the Think Talk Write (TTW) learning model supported by LKPD based on Polya's theory on fifth-grade students' problem-solving skills in mathematics at SD Negeri 2 Batubulan. The study employs a quasi-experimental design with a pre-post non-equivalent control group design, involving two groups of fifth-grade students: the experimental group and the control group. Participants were selected using random sampling, and data were collected through tests designed to measure problem-solving abilities in mathematics. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics to examine score distributions and inferential statistics to test hypotheses. The results indicate that the experimental group achieved an average n-gain of 0.71 (high category), while the control group had an average n-gain of 0.57 (medium category). The t-test showed a t-value of 10.461 compared to a t-table value of 1.991 for df = 76, with a significance value of 0.000 (< 0.05). These findings suggest that the TTW model, supported by LKPD based on Polya's theory, has a significant impact on improving students' problem-solving skills in mathematics.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze whether the application of the Project Based Learning model in the Independent Curriculum is effective on the mathematical critical thinking ability of SMP Negeri 1 Karangdadap students.  This type of research is Equivalent Control Group Design. The data collection techniques are tests, observations, and documents. Meanwhile, the data analysis techniques used are early stage data analysis including normality test, homogeneity test and mean equation test, final stage data analysis includes normality test, homogeneity test, mean difference test (t-test), and N-Gain test. Based on the results of the assessment of teacher activities (researchers) got a score of 53 with a percentage of 83.3%, including the very good criteria. Posttest data stated that the average score of the experimental class) was 86.6 (high category). Meanwhile, the results of the N-Gain test show that the experimental class has an average N-Gain score of 0.765 (high category) and a N-Gain Percent of 76.5% (very effective). These results show that Project Based Learning is effective on students' mathematical critical thinking skills.

Abstract

This research aims to understand students' thinking processes in terms of the adversity quotient for the climber, camper and quitter types. This type of research is qualitative research that focuses on description. This research was carried out by giving questionnaires, test sheets and interview sheets to class VIII students at MTsN Palopo. The results of this research show that there are several very significant differences in the thinking process in terms of the adversity quotient, namely between climber, camper and quitter type students. 1) Climber type students have a high enthusiasm for learning, tend to experience conceptual thinking processes in solving problems. 2) Camper type students have moderate enthusiasm for learning, tend to experience semi-conceptual thinking processes in solving problems. 3) Quitter type students have low enthusiasm for learning, tend to experience computational thinking processes in solving problems.

Abstract

This study aims to develop E-LKPD based on Numeracy Literacy Integrated with Islamic content with the help of liveworksheets to train students' critical thinking skills. The type of research is development research. The development procedure uses the ADDIE development model (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The product developed is E-LKPD—number and Algebra Material. Based on the research results, it was found that (1) The E-LKPD development procedure uses the ADDIE Development Model, whereas, in the Analysis Stage, data was obtained that the use of learning media was still less than optimal, especially for materials considered difficult by students. In the Design Stage, an E-LKPD design was produced. In the development stage, E-LKPD was developed, validated, and revised based on input from the validator. In the implementation stage, the process of implementing E-LKPD for students was carried out. In the Evaluation Stage, an assessment of the effectiveness of E-LKPD was carried out; (2) The E-LKPD developed meets the criteria of "Very valid" where the average total validity obtained is 4.60 and the average total practicality value obtained is 91.73 (criterion A). While in the practical aspect for the average student response questionnaire 99.21% (Very good category). The developed E-LKPD meets the criteria of "Effective" for training students' critical thinking skills (based on the results of the Critical Thinking Skills Test, Interpretation was 81.25% (Good), Analysis 84.82% (Very Good), Inference 79.46% (Good), Evaluation 75.00% (Good), Explanation 70.54% (Good), and Self-regulation 68.75% (Good)).
