Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe and analyze the challenges faced by grade 1 elementary school students in beginning reading and to identify the factors that cause them. This study used a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. To collect data, interviews were conducted with grade 1 teachers who were the subjects in this study. The results showed that grade 1 elementary school students faced difficulties when starting to read, especially in identifying letters, blending consonants, and reading fluently. Students' intellectual abilities, intelligence, and cleverness were relatively low, reduced interest in learning to read, little desire to start reading, and lack of attention from parents were some of the factors that hindered them in learning to read. Therefore, it can be concluded that some students in grade 1 of SDN 03 Lubuk Begalung still experience difficulties in starting reading skills.

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) analyze the inner conflict experienced by the main characters Toyib and Siti, (2) the factors causing the conflict experienced by the main characters, (3) the responses taken by the main characters, (4) the plot in the short story Sumur Sebuah Cerita by Eka Kurniawan. The method used is descriptive qualitative with a literary psychology approach, which allows researchers to explore the psychological aspects of the characters based on psychological theories, especially those related to inner conflict. The techniques used are literature study, reading and note-taking techniques. The instrument used is a data card for classifying the form of inner conflict. The results of the study show that the main characters experience various forms of inner conflict, such as depression, anxiety, fear, feelings of inadequacy, frustration, anger, guilt, and concern. These inner conflicts arise as a result of interpersonal relationships, social conditions, and environmental situations that are not supportive, such as water crises and poverty. The factors causing this inner conflict include differences between individuals and clashes of interests. The responses taken by the characters to the conflict are through selection and rejection, hesitation or indecision, and compromise.

Abstract

This research is a Classroom Action Research (PTK) which aims to optimize student learning outcomes through the application of Problem Based Learning (PBL) on Harvest and Post-Harvest elements. The research subject used class XI ATPH 1 at SMKN 1 Gondang with a total of 32 people. The research took place in two cycles of action repeatedly with the stages of the cycle that have been determined so that the objectives are achieved. Cycle one learning activities were carried out on March 6, 2025 and cycle two was held on April 17, 2025. The cycle consists of planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection stages. Data collection techniques through formative assessment / post test. This study shows the results that the application of the PBL model succeeded in improving the learning outcomes of students who previously had a value at the pre-cycle stage with an average of 46.56 increasing to 75.78 in cycle one and cycle two with an average of 80.47. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the application of the PBL model improves the learning outcomes of students on harvest and post-harvest elements.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technology has significantly influenced children's lives, including within elementary school environments. Gadgets offer access to interactive learning resources but also pose risks of addiction, reduced social skills, and impaired concentration if not properly managed. This study adopts a literature review method to analyze gadget usage patterns, the challenges faced by schools, and effective management strategies. The findings indicate that although educational applications can enhance students' learning interest, gadgets are more frequently used for entertainment purposes. A lack of supervision and coordination between schools and parents exacerbates these negative impacts. This research recommends clear school policies, wise integration of technology into the curriculum, and increased parental involvement. The results are expected to provide comprehensive insights and practical suggestions for educational stakeholders to foster a supportive learning environment in the digital age.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has brought innovation in language learning, one of which is through the Duolingo application in improving English vocabulary mastery. The method used is quantitave with surveytechniques, involving 111 respondents, from various levels of education, the majority of college student (88,3%). The resukts showed that 84,7% of respondents had used Duolingo, with the majority using it for less than a month. The most helpful features in vocabulary learning are listening exercise (74.8%), speaking (67,6%), reading (68,5%), and writing (58,8%). Most responden felt that duolingo was quite effective in improving language skills, especially in the aspects of reading and listening. However, there are several obstacles such as the presence of advertisemnts, limited life systems, and lack of variation in vocabulary. Overall, Duolingo is an interactive and interesting lerning media, although it still needs further development to be more optimal in improving language skills. The study provides insight into the role of technology in language learning and can be a reference for the development of similar applications in the future

Abstract

Puppet Santri is a form of puppet art used as a medium for Islamic da'wah (propagation). Through this medium, da'wah messages are conveyed by the puppeteer through storylines and puppet dialogues in a straightforward manner, making it easier for the audience to receive the messages without coercion. As a medium of da'wah, Puppet Santri consistently incorporates Islamic teachings encompassing aspects of faith (aqidah), law (shari'ah), and morality (akhlaq). Along with the development of the times and advances in technology in the contemporary era, da'wah media have become increasingly diverse. Therefore, in every performance, Puppet Santri addresses themes that are closely related to societal phenomena and realities, such as heroism (patriotism), loyalty, leadership, marriage, birth, struggles for ownership rights, and the pursuit of knowledge. These themes are presented symbolically, conveying life values intended to serve as guidance for the audience after watching the performance. This study employs qualitative research with a descriptive approach. It examines societal problems and the procedures practiced within communities under specific circumstances, including social relationships, activities, attitudes, and influences in various phenomena. In this context, the researcher seeks to describe and analyze Puppet Santri as a medium of da'wah popularized by Ki Enthus Susmono.

Abstract

The study discusses the problem of Improving the Writing Ability of Class II Students Using the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) Method for Indonesian Language Subjects at State Elementary School 46/II, Sirih Sekapur Village, Jujuhan District, Bungo Regency, Jambi Province. Based on the results of observations in class II of State Elementary School 46/II, Sirih Sekapur Village, problems were found in writing learning that were not optimal. This is because teachers have not used learning models that attract students' interest in learning to write. The value of summarizing students' writing is still below the KKM. So an effort is needed to improve the low writing ability of students, namely through the application of the CIRC Type Cooperative Learning learning model to class II students of State Elementary School 46/II, Sirih Sekapur Village. This study aims to determine the quality of students' writing skills from the first cycle to the last cycle, to find out the improvement of students' writing skills through the application of CIRC Type Cooperative Learning. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR). The data collection techniques used are observation, tests, interviews, tests and documentation. The technique used to ensure the accuracy of the data is carried out by triangulating sources and techniques. The results of this study indicate that the data obtained in the pre-cycle reached a percentage of 32.53%, cycle I reached a percentage of 64.71% and cycle II reached a percentage of 94.12. From the percentage of student learning outcomes in the pre-cycle, cycle I, and cycle II, it shows that the implementation of Cooperative Learning Type CIRC can improve students' writing skills in learning Indonesian in class II students.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of using the PBL learning model assisted by audio canva media on the results of the division of grade IV students of SD Negeri Percontohan Kabanjahe. This study uses a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. This research was conducted at SD Negeri Percontohan Kabanjahe, Kabanjahe District, Karo Regency, North Sumatra Province. The population in this study were all grade IV students of SD Negeri Percontohan Kabanjahe in the 2023/2024 academic year. Data collection techniques in this study used interviews, tests, and documentation. And the analysis technique of this study used normality, homogeneity and hypothesis tests. Based on the results of the study, the t-statistic value = 8.99 was obtained with a p-value (two-tail) = 6.84E-13. Because the p-value <0.05, the null hypothesis (Hâ‚€) is rejected, which means there is a significant difference between the experimental class and the control class. Overall, the results of this study indicate that the PBL model assisted by Canva media has a significant influence on learning outcomes in Traffic material in grade IV of SD Negeri Pecontohan Kabanjahe in the 2024/2025 academic year.

Abstract

This study is based on the importance of learning obligatory prayers in prayer movements at MIS Nurur Rahman, Jambi City, because most students at MIS Nurur Rahman, Jambi City, especially in class II, have difficulty in performing obligatory prayers correctly and sequentially. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to determine the planning, implementation, and evaluation of obligatory prayer learning by applying the picture and picture learning model in the era of the Independent Curriculum learning in class II of MIS Nurur Rahman, Jambi City. To achieve these goals, the researcher used Classroom Action Research (CAR) with the method used, namely Classroom Actions Research. Data collection techniques used in this study were observation, documentation, pretest (initial test) and posttest (final test). The selected data sources used teacher activity data and student activity data. The results of this study are 1) planning Islamic religious learning in prayer movements by applying the picture and picture learning model, determining learning objectives, Islamic religious learning designs in prayer movements with the picture and picture learning model, learning activities, learning assessments; 2) implementation of Islamic religious learning in prayer movements with the picture and picture learning model in the Merdeka Belajar Curriculum era in class II MIS Nurur Rahman which includes planning, acting, observing, and reflecting; 3) Islamic religious learning in prayer movements in the Merdeka Belajar Curriculum era in class II MIS Nurur Rahman Jambi City includes an understanding of the picture and picture learning model in this classroom action research (PTK).

Abstract

The foundation of this study is the phenomenon of low learning motivation among students, which is manifested in their lack of active participation, minimal interest in what is learned, and weak enthusiasm for completing assignments. Teachers use conventional methods that do not actively involve students, which results in a lack of interest, enthusiasm, and participation in the teaching and learning process. Therefore, there is a need for innovation in learning. Participatory observation techniques were employed in this qualitative study. Data collection methods were carried out by closely observing the learning process. Consequently, it can be concluded that using interactive teaching techniques improves second-grade kids' motivation for learning. In order to establish an engaging learning environment and encourage kids to work more in class, this study suggests that primary school teachers use interactive approaches more often.
