Abstract

This study aims to analyze the construction of discourse, power relations, and the production of truth in a podcast discussing Timothy's case using Michel Foucault's Critical Discourse Analysis framework. The focus of the research lies in how power works through language, body, institutions, and discursive practices in shaping subjects and producing "truth" about the tragedy in the public sphere. The research data consists of the entire discourse in the podcast, starting from minute 00:00 until the end. All data are analyzed through Foucauldian categories, namely the regime of truth, power/knowledge, medical gaze, disciplinary power, biopower, governmentality, subjectivation, politics of silence, and counter-discourse. The results show that the discourse in the podcast not only constructs an informative narrative but also produces power relations that influence how society understands the tragedy. Medical and psychological discourses position Timothy as a pathological subject, while family discourse forms a counter-discourse to reclaim his identity. The media acts as an institution that determines the framework of interpretation, while the state through the Ministry and the police emerges as the official producer of truth. Furthermore, the interaction between religious power, educational power, and social power demonstrates that truth is not an objective entity, but rather a dynamic construction produced through inter-discursive struggles. This research confirms that Foucault's analysis effectively uncovers invisible power structures in contemporary social events.

Abstract

The experiential learning model can provide opportunities for students to learn something based on their own experiences. This study aims to develop experiential learning model learning tools and performance assessment techniques in thermodynamics courses. The method applied in this study uses a mixed method with a 4D development model (Define, Design, Development, and Disseminate). The study was conducted in the Automotive Engineering Education Study Program, Muhammadiyah University of Purworejo with the research subjects being a class in semester III with a total of 30 students. Data collection techniques include device validation, practicality testing, device effectiveness, and documentation. Analysis of research data uses validity analysis, which is descriptive by outlining suggestions and input. The results of this study are producing learning module devices that are "Valid" and can be used without revision. The results are expected that the developed experiential learning model teaching module is effective for use in thermodynamics learning activities.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the pedagogical transformation of teachers in geometry learning in elementary schools, shifting from the use of conventional physical manipulatives to Interactive Flat Panel (IFP) technology. Using a qualitative approach with a case study design, this research involved three elementary school teachers as key informants selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and documentation studies, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results show that IFP transforms geometry learning through three main aspects: (1) enhancing spatial visualization from static to dynamic, which facilitates the understanding of geometric shapes; (2) shifting the teacher's role into a digital laboratory facilitator; and (3) increasing mathematical precision compared to physical manipulatives. However, challenges such as time management and potential technological distractions remain. This study concludes that IFP effectively accelerates students' geometric thinking stages according to Van Hiele's theory through 3D object manipulation features. The implications of this research emphasize teacher training to optimize IFP potential in the classroom

Abstract

This research is motivated by the digital transformation in education, which requires students to optimize technology-based learning resources to achieve maximum academic achievement. The primary focus of this research is to investigate the impact of digital platforms on student learning achievement in higher education. This study aims to describe the level of digital learning resource utilization by students of the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program (PBSI) at the University of Muhammadiyah Jember and to analyze the significance of the relationship between the utilization of these learning resources and the learning outcomes achieved. The research method used is a quantitative correlational study with a sample of 25 students. The research instrument was a questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability using SPSS, where the test results showed a very strong level of reliability with a Cronbach's Alpha value of 0.920 for the digital learning resource utilization variable and 0.962 for the learning outcome variable. The research findings indicate that the level of digital learning resource utilization by students is in the very consistent and structured category. The results of the Pearson correlation test indicate a positive and highly significant relationship between the utilization of digital learning resources and student learning outcomes. This indicates that the more intensive and effective students are in utilizing digital learning resources, the higher the learning outcomes they tend to achieve. The implications of this research underscore the importance of providing adequate digital infrastructure and enhancing digital literacy for students and lecturers to create a learning ecosystem that is adaptable to current developments.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education plays a strategic role in shaping the character, faith, and morals of students amidst the challenges of modern development. Therefore, the role of Islamic Religious Education teachers is needed, not only focusing on delivering material but also being able to bring Islamic values ​​to life in learning practices through the application of a living curriculum. This study aims to examine the role of Islamic Religious Education teachers in the implementation of a living curriculum in schools. The research method used is library research by analyzing various relevant literature sources, including books, scientific journals, and supporting documents. The results of the study indicate that Islamic Religious Education teachers play a crucial role as organizers, transformers, facilitators, innovators, and evaluators. As organizers, teachers manage school learning and religious activities to ensure their effectiveness. As transformers, teachers instill Islamic values ​​through role models and contextual learning. The facilitator role is realized by providing a conducive and motivating learning environment for students. Furthermore, as innovators, Islamic Religious Education teachers utilize technology and creative learning approaches that are relevant to current developments. As evaluators, teachers conduct objective and comprehensive assessments of students' cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects. In conclusion, the comprehensive role of Islamic Religious Education teachers is crucial to the successful implementation of the living curriculum in developing students who are devout, have noble character, and are adaptable to modern challenges.
