Abstract

Practical technological developments that have occurred in the last few decades have given rise to a technological innovation that is currently booming, namely the presence of Artificial Intelligence (AI). The performance and intelligence are made to almost resemble humans. The interactions carried out can take place without involving humans, due to the help of AI itself. AI intelligence in Indonesia has been widely used in various sectors, namely the education sector. This research aims to determine the threats and opportunities of AI in the world of education. Using phenomenological qualitative research methods. The results of this research are 1) The threat presented by AI itself creates dependency, thereby reducing thinking power, increasing levels of plagiarism, and the risk of errors in obtaining knowledge. 2) Opportunities presented by utilizing learning resources, fulfilling assignments help in terms of flexibility, and providing feedback. 3) The role of academics is to accompany students in the stages of writing and assignments, if they need to be given guidance to know that each piece of writing is not only guided by AI, but can be studied from other aspects, as well as optimizing the relationship between AI and the role of academics.

Abstract

Education is often mistaken for teaching or training, so its holistic aspects are neglected. The curriculum in Indonesia emphasizes more cognition than application and character. This study examines a pedagogic perspective to improve the understanding of holistic education, so that the learning process is more effective and produces individuals who are competent in theory, practice, and morals. This research uses a literature method with a qualitative descriptive approach. The data was analyzed through content analysis to understand the concepts of education, teaching, and training holistically to improve the quality of learning. The results of the discussion were that education shapes students' character mentally, socially, morally, and religiously, while teaching transfers knowledge, and training focuses on job skills. The three are interrelated, but differ in their nature, orientation, and duration of the process. The conclusion that education is the process of humanizing human beings throughout their lives through formal and informal education. Teaching supports education with knowledge, while training develops individual skills. The three are interrelated and become a shared responsibility between the government, society, and family in forming competent individuals.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and synthesize the educational policies and practices of Singapore and South Korea, highlighting their relevance and implications for educational innovation in Indonesia in the digital era. Using a systematic literature review approach, data were collected from scholarly articles published between 2014 and 2024, focusing on educational policy, integration of digital technology, and the development of 21st-century skills. The findings reveal that Singapore emphasizes lifelong learning through initiatives like SkillsFuture Movement, while South Korea focuses on integrating digital technology into curricula and assessment systems. However, both countries face challenges, such as academic pressure in South Korea and societal preference for academic pathways in Singapore. Indonesia, while implementing Kurikulum Merdeka, still struggles with disparities in infrastructure, teacher competency, and access to technology. This comparative study underscores the importance of contextual adaptation of best practices from both countries to address Indonesia's unique challenges. The study recommends strengthening digital infrastructure, enhancing teacher training, and fostering a culture of lifelong learning to build a resilient and inclusive educational ecosystem in Indonesia.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine how certified teachers and non-certified teachers differ in professional competence at SMPIT Al-Husna Kubang Jaya. A comparative research type is used in this study, and the data collection method is through questionnaires. In this study, five certified teachers and five uncertified teachers were taken as samples, with the population serving as a saturated sample. This study uses questionnaires to collect data. To identify differences between groups, the data analysis technique used a t-test for two samples with a significance level of 5%. The results of the data analysis using the t-test show that the professional competence variable has a significant value of 0.201 ≥ 0.05. Therefore, H0 is accepted and Ha is rejected, indicating that there is no difference between certified teachers and non-certified teachers. In the sample of 10, the t-table value is 3.169, so 0.201 ≤ 3.169 at a significance level of 0.005. This means that Ha is rejected and Ho is accepted, resulting in no significant difference in professional competence between certified and non-certified teachers at SMPIT Al-Husna Kubang Jaya. In other words, teachers who are not certified do not necessarily lack professional competence.

Abstract

This study aims to find out the work motivation of teachers at Nurul Iman Private Junior High School. Based on data obtained through interviews on December 9, 2024, the results of the study show that the work motivation of teachers at Nurul Iman Private Junior High School is still relatively low. This is due to the lack of effective communication between principals and teachers, limited support in the development of professionalism, and the lack of awards and incentives. These factors affect teacher satisfaction and performance, so steps are needed to increase work motivation, both through the management of intrinsic and extrinsic factors. Principals who are able to build trust, communicate the school's vision and mission, support competency development, recognize teachers' contributions, and make fair decisions can create a positive environment and motivate educators to work better. The high motivation of teachers contributes to improving the quality of learning, achieving educational goals, and creating a better working environment. In addition, motivation can also reduce stress levels, increase job satisfaction, strengthen team collaboration, and improve overall school performance. This research also highlights the importance of two motivational factors, namely intrinsic and extrinsic factors, which need to be managed properly by school principals to achieve optimal educational goals. By implementing the right motivational strategies, school principals can create significant changes in the quality of education in the school.

Abstract

Recently, environmental issues have become a significant concern for global leaders, prompting governments worldwide to take various measures to address these problems. In Indonesia, systematic efforts are underway, particularly through educational institutions, with Islamic education playing a key role by implementing environmentally-oriented curricula. This research was conducted at Al Mansyuriyah Junior Islamic School in Central Lombok. Data was gathered using several methods, with interviews being the primary technique, alongside observations. From the studies conducted, it can be concluded that environmental issues presented in the Akidah Akhlak (Faith and Morality) subjects, especially in the first semester of seventh grade, focus on personal hygiene discipline. This includes actions such as maintaining cleanliness, waste management, organizing clothing, and avoiding unhygienic behavior, with an emphasis on the negative impacts of indiscipline. In contrast, the second semester of sixth grade introduces environmental topics that shape morality towards living beings, including animals and plants. The curriculum covers ethical interactions with these beings and the potential negative consequences of immoral behavior towards them. However, it is important to note that environmental education within the Akidah Akhlak subjects has not yet fostered sufficient awareness about environmental concern. The themes taught still offer a limited understanding of the environment, focusing on competencies like cultivating virtuous morals, avoiding negative behavior, and reinforcing basic values such as discipline and cleanliness in daily life.
