Abstract

As nonprofit-oriented entities, Islamic schools are required to prepare transparent and accountable financial statements in accordance with the Interpretation of Financial Accounting Standards (ISAK) 35. In practice, however, many educational institutions have established transaction recording systems but have not yet been able to present financial statements that comply with applicable accounting standards. This community service activity aimed to assist Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs) Riyadlatul 'Ulum Batanghari in preparing financial statements based on ISAK 35. The activity employed a participatory assistance approach consisting of initial needs assessment, dissemination of ISAK 35 concepts, account classification, financial statement preparation assistance, and review of the completed financial statements. The results indicate that the madrasah had implemented a transaction recording system, however, its financial reporting was still limited to cash receipts and cash disbursement summaries and had not complied with ISAK 35. Through the assistance program, the available financial transaction data were successfully transformed into a statement of financial position, statement of comprehensive income, statement of changes in net assets, statement of cash flows, and notes to the financial statements in accordance with ISAK 35. The program contributed to improving the quality of financial reporting, transparency, and accountability in the madrasah's financial management.

Abstract

This Community Service activity aims to increase community technology literacy through Internet of Things (IoT)-based Smart Home education in Sukodono, Sidoarjo Regency. The implementation method includes socialization, training, demonstration, and evaluation using pre-test and post-test. The results showed a significant increase in participants' understanding, which was reflected in the increase in the average score from 58.5 to 81.2, as well as an increase in the percentage of participants with a score of ≥70 from 35% to 85%. In addition, participants gave a positive response and showed interest in the application of Smart Home technology in daily life. The demonstration-based educational approach has proven to be effective in strengthening people's technological literacy, as it is able to provide a hands-on experience that is easier to understand and apply. These findings confirm that real practice-based education can be a relevant strategy to introduce digital technology to the wider community. However, more applicable follow-up activities are needed to support the implementation of technology independently and sustainably, so that people not only understand the basic concepts, but also are able to integrate Smart Home technology in their daily activities productively and sustainably.

Abstract

The declining capacity of soil to absorb rainwater due to land-use changes has contributed to increased surface runoff, local flooding, and reduced groundwater recharge. At the same time, household organic waste management in Ngaresrejo Village has not been optimally implemented, leading to environmental concerns. This community service program aimed to optimize groundwater recharge through the implementation of Biopore Infiltration Holes (BIH) based on community empowerment. The program was conducted in Ngaresrejo Village, Sukodono District, Sidoarjo Regency, involving 30 members of the Family Welfare Empowerment (PKK) as community partners. The program adopted a Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) approach consisting of site observation, participatory planning, educational counseling, technical training, hands-on BIH installation, mentoring, and monitoring and evaluation. Program effectiveness was assessed using pre-tests, post-tests, field observations, and participant satisfaction questionnaires. The results indicated that the average participants' knowledge score increased from 52.5% in the pre-test to 92.0% in the post-test, representing an improvement of 39.5%. Furthermore, 90% of participants were able to independently construct and maintain Biopore Infiltration Holes. The program also encouraged behavioral changes in household organic waste segregation, the application of bioactivators, and the establishment of community environmental cadres as local leaders in groundwater conservation. Therefore, the implementation of Biopore Infiltration Holes through a community empowerment approach proved effective in enhancing groundwater conservation, improving household organic waste management, and promoting environmental sustainability in Ngaresrejo Village.

Abstract

This community service program aims to assist Rogodono Village-Owned Enterprise (BUMDes) in Buayan District, Kebumen Regency, in digitalizing physical archives, organizing document completeness, and promoting its products through digital marketing. The background of this activity is the limited archiving system of BUMDes, which still relies on printed documents that are difficult to search, duplicate, and are vulnerable to damage, as well as the low utilization of digital media for product marketing. The method used includes a participatory approach through document identification, scanning and digital filing, document completeness verification, and marketing socialization training for the BUMDes management. The results show that all identified physical documents have been converted into digital format and systematically organized, the completeness of BUMDes legal and administrative documents has improved, and the management gained new knowledge and skills in promoting BUMDes products through digital platforms. This activity is expected to strengthen administrative order, data security, and product competitiveness of Rogodono BUMDes, and to serve as a model for similar community service activities in other villages.

Abstract

Excessive use of synthetic chemical pesticides in Pejagatan Village, Kutowinangun District, Kebumen Regency, poses severe risks to environmental sustainability and public health. To address this issue, the UMNU Kebumen KKN team conducted a community empowerment program focused on producing eco-friendly botanical pesticides. Held on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at 20:00 WIB at the Pejagatan Village Hall, the activity engaged members from all five active local farmers' groups (Kelompok Tani). The training introduced an enhanced formulation incorporating soursop leaves, papaya leaves, tobacco, cream detergent, as well as easily accessible kitchen spices/rhizomes (ginger, turmeric, kaempferia galanga, curcuma aeruginosa, curcuma heyneana, galangal, calamus, and cassumunar ginger), garlic, clove oil, baking soda, neem leaf powder, and Nitrobacter. The addition of kitchen spices significantly intensified the pungent aroma of the mixture, thereby accelerating pest eradication. The program stages included material presentation via PowerPoint and brochures, an active Q&A session with local farmers, and hands-on practice using 15-liter Le Minerale gallons. Furthermore, participants received ready-to-use botanical pesticide samples pre-made by the KKN team. The physical evaluation after 24-hour fermentation confirmed an optimal dark, pungent, and homogeneous solution. This program successfully transferred practical technology, offering an effective, economical, and sustainable plant protection alternative.

Abstract

Organic waste management in Sukoharjo Regency remains a challenge that requires educational efforts and innovative approaches from an early age. SMP Islam Al Azhar Cairo Sukoharjo has the potential to become a partner in fostering students’ awareness of waste management and renewable energy utilization. This community service program aimed to improve students’ knowledge and skills in converting organic waste into electricity through Microbial Fuel Cell (MFC) technology. The activity was conducted on July 31, 2026, involving students and teachers through lectures, discussions, demonstrations, MFC assembly practices, and evaluation using pre-test and post-test assessments. The results showed an improvement in participants’ understanding of organic waste management, renewable energy concepts, and the working principles of MFC technology. The analysis using the Normalized Gain (N-gain) method obtained a value of 0.76, categorized as effective. This activity provided practice-based learning experiences and has the potential to serve as a living laboratory model to support scientific literacy and environmental awareness in schools.

Abstract

Bullying is a global and national issue that requires special attention and effective preventive measures, particularly in elementary school environments. This community service program aimed to prevent bullying through a psychoeducational pilot study conducted at a model elementary school in Malang City. The activity actively involved approximately 28 students through a series of educational and interactive methods, namely the psychoeducational sessions Say No to Bullying for Kids and Developing Empathy in Kids, the screening of a cartoon film on bullying prevention, and a self-awareness activity conducted through a Focus Group Discussion (FGD). Based on the program evaluation, the students stated that the entire series of activities was enjoyable, engaging, and easy to understand. The activities successfully enhanced students’ understanding of the importance of preventing aggressive and harmful behaviors, including bullying, while fostering awareness that such behaviors should not be practiced. Through the implementation of this pilot study, it is expected that children’s social-emotional awareness will continue to develop positively, thereby helping to reduce or minimize the potential occurrence of bullying cases, at least within the school environment that served as the community service partner.
