Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play an important role in improving the community’s economy. However, many MSME actors still face difficulties in managing business finances. These problems were also experienced by the Samiler Crackers MSME in Betro Hamlet, Wonosunyo Village, Gempol District, Pasuruan Regency, particularly in preparing the Cost of Goods Manufactured (COGM), determining selling prices, and managing simple financial reports. This community service activity aimed to improve the understanding and skills of MSME actors in financial management. The implementation method used a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach through observation, socialization, training, mentoring, and evaluation stages. The results of the activity showed that MSME actors were able to prepare a more detailed Cost of Goods Manufactured by classifying production costs, understand selling price determination based on raw material costs and product quality, and conduct simple financial recording of cash inflows and cash outflows. In addition, simple financial reports helped MSME actors identify income levels and business conditions. This mentoring activity had a positive impact on improving MSME financial management capabilities and is expected to support the sustainability and development of the Samiler Crackers business in Wonosunyo Village.Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play an important role in improving the community’s economy. Abstract

This Community Service Program aims to improve the competitiveness of MSMEs in Kawengen Village, East Ungaran, Semarang through optimizing packaging design, strengthening business legality, and assisting with Home Industry Food Permit (P-IRT) processing. The main challenges faced by partners include a lack of understanding of business permits, unattractive and uninformative product packaging, and limited knowledge of food safety standards. The program consisted of observation, outreach, practical training, and intensive mentoring. The materials covered the importance of business legality, P-IRT application procedures, principles of effective and regulatory-compliant packaging design, and the application of brand identity to products. Evaluation included pre- and post-tests, as well as assessments of the packaging designs developed by participants. The program demonstrated a significant increase in participants' understanding of packaging legality and standards, as well as their readiness to process P-IRT. This program has proven effective in strengthening MSME competitiveness by improving product quality, consumer trust, and business professionalism.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has encouraged educators to utilize learning videos as an effective medium to support teaching and learning activities. However, many early childhood education (PAUD) teachers still have limited knowledge regarding video production techniques, including camera settings, shooting angles, lighting arrangements, and video aspect ratio adjustments suitable for social media platforms. This community service activity aimed to improve the competencies of PAUD teachers in producing creative and engaging learning video content. The activity was conducted on May 21, 2026, at KB Bukit Bakat Ambokembang, Kedungwuni, involving 60 teachers from various PAUD institutions under HIMPAUDI Kecamatan Kedungwuni. The methods employed included lectures, workshops, hands-on practice, and mentoring sessions. Training materials covered basic video camera settings, lighting techniques, camera angles, video composition, aspect ratio adjustments, and video editing using CapCut. The results showed that participants gained a better understanding of video production concepts and were able to produce ten learning videos collaboratively. Participants demonstrated increased confidence in creating educational content tailored to the characteristics of social media platforms. This activity contributed to strengthening teachers’ digital literacy and creative content production skills to support more engaging learning experiences.

Abstract

Community empowerment through the utilization of medicinal family plants (TOGA) presents a strategic opportunity to enhance women's economic independence in Indonesia. This community service program, RempahRise, aims to transform TOGA cultivation into modern herbal beverage products within the PKK RW 04 community group at Green Semesta Housing, Ngaliyan District, Semarang. The program employed a participatory action approach across five implementation stages: community observation and needs mapping, herbal beverage processing training, packaging and branding workshop, business management training, and monitoring and evaluation. A total of 20 participants were involved over approximately three months. Pre-test and post-test measured competency improvements across five aspects: TOGA knowledge, processing skills, packaging and branding understanding, digital marketing, and entrepreneurial mindset. Results indicated a mean score increase from 50 to 84.4, reflecting an average improvement of ~68.8%. The highest gain was in processing skills (~88.9%), while the lowest was in TOGA knowledge (~57.7%). Four herbal beverage variants were developed: Es Telang Coco, Sparkling Ginger Pandan, Ginger Latte Rempah Creamy, and Serai Clove Spice Brew, each accompanied by documented SOPs, food-grade packaging, and an active community brand identity with social media presence. Participant satisfaction reached approximately 85%. The program contributes to SDGs Goals 3, 5, 8, and 12, and demonstrates that structured community empowerment can effectively bridge TOGA's potential with women's economic participation.

Abstract

The sustainability of traditional arts organisations depends not only on cultural preservation, but also on sound financial management. The Kalijaro Taruno Mudo Traditional Dance Troupe in Karang Jati Village still faces challenges in the areas of financial literacy and management, namely the continued use of manual bookkeeping methods and a lack of financial governance. This community service initiative aims to strengthen financial literacy and management to support the sustainability of the dance troupe. The method employed is the Community Empowerment approach, which involves community-based empowerment through the stages of preparation, implementation, evaluation and follow-up. Activities included training in financial literacy, guidance on simple bookkeeping, budget preparation and financial reporting. The results of the activities demonstrated an improvement in the committee members’ understanding and skills in recording financial transactions, drawing up budgets, and presenting financial reports in a more accountable manner. Furthermore, the development of a work plan and a mechanism for periodic evaluation has contributed to better organisational governance. This programme demonstrates that strengthening financial literacy and management can support the sustainability of community-based arts and culture organisations.

Abstract

However, many business owners still face challenges in financial management, particularly in cash and working capital management. These problems were also identified at Tahu Sumedang Boga Rasa MSME located in Langkapura Village, Kemiling District, Bandar Lampung City, where financial records were still maintained in a simple manner, business and personal finances had not been separated, and working capital planning had not been optimally implemented. This Community Service Program (PKM) aimed to improve the business owner's understanding of cash and working capital management to support business sustainability and development. The method used was a descriptive method with a participatory approach through observation, interviews, socialization, mentoring, and evaluation stages. The results showed that prior to the implementation of the program, the partner did not maintain regular financial records and still experienced difficulties in managing cash and working capital. After participating in the socialization and mentoring activities, the partner demonstrated an improved understanding of the importance of recording income and expenses, separating business finances from personal finances, and planning the use of working capital more effectively. This activity had a positive impact on increasing the partner’s knowledge and awareness regarding business financial management. With this improved understanding, MSMEs are expected to implement better cash and working capital management practices to support sustainable business growth and development.

Abstract

This community service program aimed to improve the financial literacy of twelfth-grade students at SMK Bakti Purwokerto by strengthening their knowledge and skills in managing finances wisely. The activities were implemented through a participatory approach consisting of socialization sessions, interactive discussions, financial planning simulations, and education on safe investment practices. The materials focused on developing saving habits, financial risk management, and responsible financial decision-making. The results showed an improvement in students’ understanding and awareness of the importance of sound financial management. This improvement was reflected in positive behavioral changes, including increased saving habits and a more critical and cautious attitude toward high-risk investment offers. In addition, the program encouraged students to become agents of change who actively disseminated financial knowledge among their peers. The activities also contributed to creating a school environment that supports the implementation of healthy financial behaviors. Therefore, the participatory financial literacy program proved effective in enhancing the financial capacity and economic independence of young people while supporting sustainable social and educational development.

Abstract

MSMEs play a significant role in supporting regional economic development. However, many business owners still face challenges in financial management, particularly in maintaining simple bookkeeping, calculating business costs, and determining appropriate selling prices. These challenges were identified in Trend Accessories and Gift, a trading business, and Si Fang Yuan Dimsum, a culinary business, both located in Batam City. The two partner MSMEs had not implemented systematic financial records, resulting in business cost information that was not optimally utilized for pricing decisions. This community service program aimed to enhance the partners’ understanding of simple bookkeeping and business cost calculation as the basis for determining selling prices. The program employed a Participatory Action Research approach, consisting of problem identification, planning, training implementation, practical mentoring, monitoring, and evaluation. The training utilized a simple bookkeeping module and a Microsoft Excel-based bookkeeping template using the partners’ actual business transaction data. The results demonstrated that both partners gained a better understanding of preparing simple bookkeeping records, identifying business cost components according to the characteristics of their businesses, calculating the Cost of Goods Sold for the trading business and business costs for the culinary business, and utilizing cost information to establish more rational selling prices. Furthermore, the program increased the partners’ awareness of the importance of systematic financial recordkeeping as an essential component of sound business financial management. Overall, the training and mentoring activities contributed to strengthening the financial management capacity of the partner MSMEs and supported more effective, accountable, and sustainable business decision-making.

Abstract

Stunting is a national health problem that has not been resolved to date. Training on the use of local coastal food is still rare and the use of yards through planting moringa is also still lacking in coastal areas. The purpose of this community service is to prevent stunting by training to toddler families about the benefits and innovations of local coastal food and planting moringa trees in the Soropia coastal area. The implementation method uses lectures and demonstrations of making fish and moringa chips. Community service has been carried out in Bajoe Village on 35 mothers with toddlers, using booklets and leaflets. The results of the implementation of the activity are knowledge and the media score obtained before health education is 8 and after 10, with a good knowledge achievement of 100%. The results of the training on making moringa chips, there was an increase in skills before was 10 and after training obtained a score of 12, the achievement of skills after being given training was 91.4%. The results of the Wilcoxon sign rank test obtained a p value of 0.000. The conclusion of community service is that there is an increase in the knowledge and skills of mothers who have toddlers in utilizing local coastal food and the availability of moringa trees in the yards of their homes and the Bajoe Village Hall, Soropia Subdistrict.

Abstract

This study examines the role of Prince Santri (Prince Kusumadinata I) in the process of Islamization in the territory of the Kingdom of Sumedang Larang. The formulation of the problem includes the role of leadership, socio-cultural impact, the values taught, and the community's response to the spread of Islam. The research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive-historical approach, through observation, interviews, and documentation in the area of the Tomb of Prince Santri (Pasarean Gede), Sumedang Regency. The results of the study show that Islamization takes place through a top-down pattern, where Prince Santri first convinces Ratu Dewi Inten Dewata (Ratu Pucuk Umun) before the teachings of Islam are spread to the wider community. Da'wah is carried out peacefully through friendship, while the marriage of Prince Santri with Ratu Pucuk Umun becomes a mechanism of routine charisma that institutionalizes Islam into the royal structure. This strategy allowed Islam to survive and develop even after the death of Prince Santri. The findings of the study confirm that the Islamization of Sumedang Larang is not only religious, but also political and cultural, with the integration of Islamic values into the royal order. This research contribution enriches the local Islamic historical literature by showing how charismatic leadership and peace strategies can accelerate the process of Islamization in the context of traditional kingdoms.
