Abstract

This research explores the burgeoning phenomenon of 'Pesantrenpreneurship' within an Islamic boarding school in West Java, Indonesia. 'Pesantrenpreneurs' are individuals who engage in entrepreneurial activities within the context of the pesantren, blending religious values with innovative business pursuits. Through a mixed-methods approach involving qualitative interviews and quantitative surveys, this study uncovers the driving factors behind 'Pesantrenpreneurship,' the types of businesses emerging, the impact on personal development and the community, and the intersection of religious values and entrepreneurship. The findings contribute to our understanding of the evolving role of religious institutions in promoting entrepreneurship and fostering socially responsible business practices.

Abstract

This research investigates the role of public policy as a catalyst for entrepreneurship growth and innovation in Bandung City. Through a mixed-methods approach comprising qualitative interviews and quantitative surveys, this study explores the impact of policies on the entrepreneurial ecosystem. Qualitative findings reveal themes of policy awareness, effectiveness, collaboration, funding access, and educational support. Quantitative analysis corroborates these themes, highlighting variations in policy perceptions, impacts, and innovation outcomes. The discussion interprets these findings within established theoretical frameworks, offering insights for policymakers and stakeholders aiming to enhance the city's entrepreneurial landscape.

Abstract

Blockchain technology's disruptive potential in the digital economy has spurred a surge in scholarly interest, leading to a complex landscape of research endeavors. This study employs a comprehensive bibliometric analysis to illuminate the multifaceted dimensions of blockchain's impact. Through analysis techniques and visualization tools, including VOSviewer, we uncover publication trends, influential authors, research themes, collaboration networks, and the interdisciplinary nature of blockchain research. The results reveal a steady increase in publications over the past decade, indicating growing recognition of blockchain's significance. Influential authors emerge as key contributors, shaping the research discourse and driving innovation. Diverse research themes, ranging from fintech and digital transformation to cryptocurrencies and smart contracts, underscore blockchain's applications across various sectors. Collaborative networks highlight the emergence of focused communities, fostering interdisciplinary insights. The integration of VOSviewer facilitates an exploration of these insights, offering a nuanced perspective on blockchain's disruptive potential. Our analysis contributes to a deeper understanding of the evolving landscape, informing researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and stakeholders navigating the complexities of blockchain technology in the digital economy.

Abstract

This research explores the influence of startups on raising entrepreneurship awareness and enhancing digital literacy in West Java. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining quantitative surveys with qualitative in-depth interviews and focus group discussions. The study involved 300 respondents with diverse demographic characteristics, allowing for a comprehensive analysis of the startup ecosystem's impact. Quantitative findings revealed that a significant portion of the population in West Java has high levels of entrepreneurship awareness (40%) and digital literacy (35%). Moreover, 60% of respondents reported engagement with startups. Qualitative insights from interviews and focus group discussions emphasized the inspirational role of startups, their contribution to skill development, and the potential for collaboration between startups and educational institutions. The study also found that 75% of respondents perceived a positive influence of startups on entrepreneurship awareness and 70% on digital literacy. These findings underscore the critical role of startups in fostering entrepreneurship awareness and digital literacy in West Java. However, challenges such as resource limitations and the digital divide must be addressed to fully harness the benefits of startups.

Abstract

Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play an important role in Indonesia's economic development, especially in West Java Province. Recognizing this important role of MSMEs, Bank Mandiri has introduced the Entrepreneur Expo Program to support and promote entrepreneurship among MSMEs. This study aims to analyze the impact of Bank Mandiri's Entrepreneur Expo Program on the entrepreneurial spirit of MSMEs in West Java. This study uses a mixed-methods research design, consisting of 200 quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews, to collect data from program participants. The findings show that the program has had a positive impact on MSMEs. Networking opportunities, knowledge transfer and increased confidence have empowered the participants, fostering entrepreneurship in the region. Challenges, including sustainability and access to finance, have also been identified. To address these challenges and improve the effectiveness of the program, several recommendations are proposed, such as expanding post-program support, establishing financial partnerships, and adjusting program content. This study contributes to the understanding of entrepreneurship support programs and provides actionable insights for policymakers, financial institutions, and MSME owners, which can ultimately advance the entrepreneurship ecosystem in West Java.

Abstract

Microcredit programs have emerged as powerful tools for poverty alleviation and economic growth in developing economies. This study investigates the impact of the BRI People's Business Credit Program (KUR) on entrepreneurship development and economic growth in West Java, Indonesia. Employing a mixed-methods approach, including quantitative survey data and qualitative insights from interviews and focus group discussions, the research reveals compelling findings. The quantitative analysis demonstrates a high level of participation in the BRI KUR program, with significant positive effects on entrepreneurship development indicators, such as business growth, employment generation, and income increase. Furthermore, areas with higher program participation exhibit noteworthy increases in GDP per capita and reductions in poverty rates. These results underscore the program's pivotal role in stimulating entrepreneurship and fostering economic growth at the regional level. Qualitative insights from program participants and stakeholders provide valuable context, emphasizing the program's accessibility, its impact on entrepreneurship culture, and the importance of addressing challenges for sustainable success. This research contributes to our understanding of microcredit program effectiveness, especially within the unique regional context of West Java. It offers insights for policymakers, financial institutions, and development agencies seeking to harness the potential of microcredit programs as drivers of economic transformation.

Abstract

The creative economy has become a driving force for economic growth and cultural development in Indonesia, with the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy at the forefront of shaping policies and initiatives to support this sector. This research employs a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative survey data and qualitative insights from in-depth interviews, to explore the Minister's role in encouraging innovation and entrepreneurial networks in the creative economy. The findings reveal a generally positive perception of the Minister's policies, with stakeholders acknowledging their effectiveness in promoting innovation and entrepreneurial networks. Networking and collaboration initiatives facilitated by the Minister are seen as instrumental in fostering connections within the sector. While challenges exist, including the need for enhanced funding accessibility and intellectual property protection, they present opportunities for policy improvement. The study contributes to a nuanced understanding of the Minister's impact and offers policy recommendations to further enhance the growth and sustainability of the creative economy in Indonesia.

Abstract

This research investigates the impact of Bank Mandiri's Entrepreneur Expo on the spirit of entrepreneurship during its 25th Anniversary celebration in West Java Province. Employing a mixed-methods approach, we assess the influence of the expo on attendees' entrepreneurial spirit through quantitative surveys and gain deeper insights into their experiences and perceptions via qualitative interviews. The quantitative analysis reveals that expo attendees exhibit significantly higher levels of motivation, willingness to take risks, innovation, and intention to start a business compared to non-attendees. Qualitative findings highlight the expo as an inspirational platform that offers networking opportunities, knowledge acquisition, and a confidence boost. Overall, Bank Mandiri's Entrepreneur Expo emerges as a significant catalyst for fostering entrepreneurship, providing valuable lessons for organizations and policymakers seeking to promote entrepreneurship and innovation within their communities.

Abstract

The purpose of this study had been targeted to explore the investigation on the foreign investment in US stock market in aligned to understand the potential market return to overcome the rising inflation rate in Malaysia. This had been motivated by the increasing interest and preference among the local investors in Malaysia into seeking into alterative investment method in foreign investment market which include foreign stock market. Therefore, the quantitative study had been conducted where the combination of the correlation analysis and regression analysis will test the research framework for the study and further comparative analysis had bene used to identify the comparison between the performance of the foreign stock market return against the inflation rate in Malaysia. The results had proven that only the inflation rate between Malaysia and US remained significant having positive relationship between the two variables rejecting other suggestion from the research framework. The comparative analysis had unveiled that the foreign stock market return considering the exchange rate through NYSE and NASDAQ had been greater and significantly surpass the inflation rate in Malaysia suggesting the recommendation for the investors to invest in the US stock market to overcome the inflation pressure in Malaysia.

Abstract

This research investigates the influence of the external environment on business strategy planning and implementation in Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia through a quantitative analysis. The study encompasses a diverse sample of participants representing various industries, business sizes, and geographic locations. Perceived impacts of external factors, such as economic conditions, technological changes, regulatory factors, and competitive forces, were assessed. Additionally, the study explored the success of business strategy formulation and implementation across different industries. A regression analysis was conducted to uncover relationships between external factors and business strategy success. The findings reveal industry-specific nuances, emphasizing the importance of tailored strategies for MSMEs in Indonesia. The research contributes to the understanding of strategic management in the MSME sector and provides insights for policymakers and practitioners seeking to enhance the resilience and growth of these enterprises.
