Abstract

Salaf-based Islamic boarding schools in Indonesia face increasing pressure to modernize their management systems while maintaining their traditional religious identity. This research aims to describe the implementation of management at the Salaf-based Islamic boarding school in improving the quality of students at Pondok Pesantren Zainul Hasanain Genggong. The approach used is qualitative with a descriptive case study design, where data were obtained through interviews, observation, and documentation. The data were analyzed using thematic analysis techniques following the Miles and Huberman model to explore key themes in the application of traditional values in education. The research findings reveal that the management system in this Islamic boarding school is rooted in classical Islamic traditions, such as deliberative leadership (deliberation), moral exemplification by the kyai, and the yellow book learning model. These components collectively contribute to the development of students with strong religious character, self-discipline, and social awareness. However, challenges were found in the areas of limited professional management practices and infrastructure gaps. Despite this, the Islamic boarding school successfully fosters academic and non-academic excellence through structured guidance rooted in cultural-religious values. The implications of this research highlight the importance of value-based educational management that remains adaptive while preserving its identity within modern educational challenges.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of service quality and waiting time on patient loyalty at the Emergency Department (ED), with patient satisfaction as a mediating variable. A quantitative method was employed using a survey approach with questionnaires distributed to 100 patients who had visited the ED more than twice. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with a Partial Least Squares (PLS) approach via SmartPLS 4.0. The results show that service quality has a significant positive effect on patient satisfaction and loyalty, while waiting time has a significant negative effect. Additionally, patient satisfaction is proven to be a mediating variable between service quality and waiting time on patient loyalty. These findings suggest that improving service quality and reducing delays can enhance student satisfaction and loyalty in educational settings. Educational leaders can apply these insights to streamline administrative processes, prioritize student needs, and foster a supportive learning environment, ultimately improving student retention and academic outcomes.

Abstract

Developing teachers’ information and communication technology (ICT) competence requires strategic leadership at the school level. This study explores the principal’s strategies for enhancing ICT competence among rural public junior high school teachers. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation at school. The findings reveal that most teachers demonstrate basic to intermediate ICT skills, with tools such as PowerPoint and LCD projectors being the most common. Supporting factors include the availability of ICT facilities, regular training, strong principal leadership, peer collaboration, and partnerships with the Education Office. However, limited funding, unstable internet, low teacher confidence, and heavy workloads hinder progress. The principal’s strategic responses include organizing training programs, involving teachers in external technical guidance, optimizing existing ICT tools, promoting peer learning through MGMP forums, and providing recognition to innovative teachers. This study contributes to the discourse on digital leadership and teacher capacity-building in resource-constrained contexts.

Abstract

Early childhood is a critical stage for character formation and socio-emotional development, making children vulnerable to deviant behaviors such as verbal bullying. This study aims to identify and analyze teacher management strategies in Islamic Early Childhood Education (PIAUD) to prevent verbal bullying in the classroom through Islamic values. This research employed a qualitative phenomenological design, using in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and documentation with PIAUD teachers experienced in handling verbal bullying. The findings reveal three main strategies: internalizing Islamic values through storytelling and routine practices; humanistic classroom management based on compassion and positive communication; and active collaboration with parents and school institutions. These strategies effectively raise children’s verbal awareness, build social leadership, and reduce verbal bullying behavior across genders. The study concludes that value-based teacher management is a constructive and preventive approach to fostering a safe, inclusive, and character-driven learning environment. These findings have practical implications for developing teacher training programs and Islamic early childhood education policies grounded in moral and spiritual values.

This study aims to examine the role of PR management in bullying prevention at SMP PGRI 9 Sidoarjo by applying core management functions, namely planning, organizing, directing, and controlling. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings reveal that PR serves not only as an information disseminator but also as a program strategist and institutional bridge between internal stakeholders and the community. In the planning stage, PR identifies problems and designs bullying prevention initiatives to strengthen the school’s public image. In the organizing phase, PR coordinates structured teams such as the Violence Prevention and Handling Team (TPPK). Actuating ensures the implementation of activities, including parental engagement and student outreach. Meanwhile, the controlling phase monitors and evaluates program effectiveness. This study contributes to the discourse on educational communication and safety, emphasizing the strategic significance of professional PR management in shaping a trustworthy and responsive school identity.
