Abstract

This study aims to examine religion as a social sign within contemporary Muslim consumer culture, focusing on how Sharia identity is constructed and communicated through the consumption of halal-labeled commodities. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, the research employs digital observation and a sociology of consumption perspective to analyze the commodification of religious symbols within capitalist market dynamics. The findings indicate that the consumption of Sharia products extends beyond expressions of personal piety and functions as a strategy of social distinction and identity performance. Religious symbols embedded in commodities serve as markers of lifestyle, status, and group belonging, transforming spiritual values into marketable and exchangeable goods. This process demonstrates how religious identity is increasingly shaped through consumption practices that align with neoliberal cultural logic. The study implies that the commodification of religion has redefined the relationship between faith, identity, and the market. It highlights the growing integration of religious values into consumer culture and contributes to a deeper understanding of how religion operates as both a symbolic resource and an economic asset in contemporary society.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the management of religious organizational culture development in improving students’ character. This research employed a qualitative case study approach. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving the principal, teachers, students, and parents. Data analysis followed the Miles and Huberman model, including data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. The findings revealed that the development of religious organizational culture was implemented through four management functions proposed by George R. Terry, namely planning, organizing, implementation, and evaluation. Planning involved formulating religious programs and implementation strategies, organizing focused on assigning roles and responsibilities to school members, implementation was carried out through religious habituation activities such as congregational Dhuha prayer, recitation of Asmaul Husna, Qur’anic reading, and collective prayers, while evaluation was conducted continuously to monitor program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement. The study found that religious organizational culture contributed significantly to the development of students’ religiosity, discipline, responsibility, and respectful behavior. These findings imply that systematic and sustainable management of religious organizational culture can serve as an effective strategy for strengthening character education and fostering positive student behavior in educational institutions.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and evaluate a Microsoft Access-based mail automation system to improve administrative efficiency and students’ digital administration competence. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach adapted from the Borg and Gall model, consisting of needs analysis, product design, expert validation, limited testing, field testing, implementation, and evaluation stages. Data were collected through questionnaires, expert validation sheets, and competency assessments administered before and after system implementation. The results indicated that the developed system was categorized as highly feasible based on expert evaluations in archive management and information technology. Furthermore, students’ digital administration competence increased from a pretest mean score of 3.05 to a posttest mean score of 4.45. Statistical analysis revealed a significant effect of system utilization on competency improvement, with an R² value of 0.512 and p < 0.0001. The system also contributed to reducing administrative errors, accelerating correspondence processes, and improving document organization. These findings imply that mail automation systems can support digital transformation initiatives by strengthening administrative efficiency, technological literacy, and digital competence within student organizations and other educational administrative environments.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the insertion of religious moderation values in Islamic Religious Education (IRE) learning and to examine how these values are integrated, internalized, and practiced within the educational process. Employing a qualitative approach with a single-case study design, data were collected through semi-structured interviews, moderate participant observation, and document analysis involving IRE teachers, students, school leaders, guidance and counseling teachers, and homeroom teachers selected purposively. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis through transcription, coding, categorization, and theme development. The findings reveal four main patterns of religious moderation insertion: the integration of moderation values into IRE lesson planning, the implementation of dialogic, reflective, and contextual learning strategies, the internalization of moderation values through school culture, and students’ experiences in interpreting and practicing religious moderation in their daily lives. These findings indicate that religious moderation is not merely presented as normative content but functions as a socio-pedagogical practice shaped by the interaction of curriculum, teachers, school culture, and students’ lived experiences. The study implies the need to strengthen instructional planning, attitude assessment, and collaborative school programs to foster an inclusive, tolerant, non-violent, and contextually responsive Islamic education ecosystem.

Abstract

Education fairs are important service encounters in international higher education marketing because they connect prospective students with foreign universities through direct communication and information exchange. This study examines how communication quality and information quality at education fairs influence Indonesian digital natives' intention to study abroad, with student motivation as a mediating mechanism. A quantitative explanatory survey was conducted with 346 Indonesian respondents who had plans to study abroad and had attended an education fair within the previous 12 months. The data were analyzed using SPSS for respondent profiling and PLS-SEM with SmartPLS 4 for measurement and structural model evaluation. The findings show that communication quality positively affects student motivation (β = .256, p = .017), information quality positively affects student motivation (β = .422, p < .001), and student motivation strongly affects intention to study abroad (β = .800, p < .001). However, the direct effects of communication quality and information quality on intention are not significant. Motivation significantly mediates both relationships, indicating indirect-only mediation. The model explains 64.0% of the variance in intention to study abroad.

Abstract

This study analyzes student placement management in the Tahfizh Al-Qur’an program through an ability grouping approach at Islamic Senior High School. Tahfizh programs represent strategic efforts to integrate Qur’anic memorization with schooling. However, their effectiveness depends on accurate placement that aligns readiness with program demands. This study used a descriptive qualitative method with a field research design. Data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews with school leaders, coordinators, Tahfizh teachers, counselors, homeroom teachers, and students, and documentation analysis. First, the selection process lacked standardized rubrics, written procedures, and comprehensive assessment indicators. Placement relied mainly on a brief Qur’anic reading test. Second, limited Tahfizh teacher involvement weakened diagnostic accuracy and procedural transparency. Third, inaccurate placement produced highly heterogeneous classes. Teachers consequently spent considerable time on basic tahsin rather than memorization progression. Approximately half of students failed to achieve annual memorization targets. Several students experienced academic and psychological strain. The study implies that ability grouping requires valid, transparent, and multidimensional placement instruments. It recommends integrating reading rubrics, memorization assessment, motivation interviews, and readiness questionnaires into placement policy.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of financial literacy, financial inclusion, and access to finance on MSME performance. The research employs a quantitative approach using a survey method with a structured questionnaire distributed to 91 MSME actors selected through random sampling. Data analysis was conducted using Structural Equation Modeling based on Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with SmartPLS 4.0 software to test the relationships among variables and evaluate the proposed hypotheses. The results reveal that financial inclusion and access to finance have a positive and significant effect on MSME performance. This indicates that broader access to formal financial services and easier access to external funding play an important role in improving business efficiency, productivity, and sustainability. In contrast, financial literacy does not show a significant effect on MSME performance, suggesting that financial knowledge alone is insufficient to enhance business outcomes without effective implementation and access to financial resources. The implications of this study highlight the importance of strengthening financial inclusion policies and improving financing accessibility for MSMEs. Financial institutions and policymakers should prioritize expanding access to financial services and supporting funding mechanisms rather than focusing solely on financial literacy programs. These findings contribute to a better understanding of the determinants of MSME performance and provide practical insights for improving business competitiveness and sustainability.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze journalist professionalism in maintaining ethical reporting and accuracy in radio broadcasting. The research employed a qualitative approach using a descriptive method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with key informants, including the editor-in-chief, journalists, and radio management. The study focused on the implementation of journalistic ethics, reporting accuracy as an indicator of professionalism, and the factors that support and hinder professional journalistic practices. The findings reveal that journalistic ethics are implemented through the principles of independence, balance, separation of facts from opinions, respect for sources, and compliance with professional ethical and broadcasting standards. In terms of accuracy, journalists apply systematic verification procedures, source confirmation, and structured news script preparation based on the 5W+1H framework. Although journalists face challenges such as time constraints, limited human resources, and the rapid flow of digital information, ethical standards and accuracy remain higher priorities than broadcasting speed. The study implies that journalist professionalism is shaped not only by individual competence but also by an effective editorial system and strong institutional commitment to ethical standards and verification practices. These factors play a crucial role in maintaining media credibility and public trust.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effects of profitability, leverage, and sales growth on tax avoidance, as well as to investigate the moderating role of firm size in these relationships. The study employs a quantitative research approach using secondary data obtained from annual financial reports. The sample was selected through purposive sampling based on predetermined criteria. Tax avoidance serves as the dependent variable, while profitability, leverage, and sales growth function as independent variables. Firm size is incorporated as a moderating variable. Data were analyzed using panel data regression and Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) with EViews 13. The findings indicate that profitability does not have a significant effect on tax avoidance. In contrast, leverage and sales growth significantly influence tax avoidance practices. Furthermore, firm size does not moderate the relationship between profitability and tax avoidance, but it significantly moderates the effects of leverage and sales growth on tax avoidance. These results suggest that tax avoidance behavior is more strongly influenced by financing structure, business growth, and organizational scale than by profitability. The study contributes to the tax accounting literature and provides practical implications for strengthening financial governance, tax compliance awareness, and business ethics education in higher education.
