Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of school principals’ managerial competence in enhancing teacher work discipline and its contribution to improving teacher performance and overall school effectiveness. Using a literature review method, the study synthesizes findings from peer-reviewed journal articles published between 2021 and 2026, with a focus on leadership strategies, influencing factors, and outcomes related to teacher discipline. The findings reveal that effective principals improve teacher discipline through active supervision, motivation and reward systems, role modeling, and continuous professional development, which contribute to better punctuality, compliance with regulations, and task completion. The effectiveness of these strategies is influenced by principals’ conceptual, interpersonal, and technical competencies, supportive organizational cultures, and ongoing mentoring programs. Nevertheless, challenges such as teacher health conditions, workload pressures, resource limitations, and contextual constraints may hinder successful implementation. The study implies that strengthening principals’ managerial competence through leadership development programs, systematic supervision, and continuous professional support is crucial for improving teacher discipline, enhancing teacher performance, and promoting overall school quality.

Abstract

The phenomenon of delayed divine response to prayer often generates disappointment, anxiety, and spiritual uncertainty among contemporary Muslims, particularly within a culture that emphasizes instant gratification and immediate outcomes. This study aims to analyze the concept of delayed divine response to prayer in the Seventh Wisdom of Al-Hikam by Ibn ‘Atha’illah al-Sakandari and to examine its relevance to contemporary Muslim spirituality. Employing a qualitative approach with a library research design, the study utilized Al-Hikam as the primary source, supported by the Qur’an, Hadith, classical Sufi literature, and contemporary scholarly works. Data were collected through documentary research and analyzed using data condensation, data display, and conclusion verification. The findings reveal that delayed divine response should not be interpreted as divine rejection but as a form of spiritual pedagogy (tarbiyah rūḥiyyah) that cultivates patience (sabr), contentment (riḍā), and trust in God (tawakkul). This process strengthens spiritual awareness, psychological resilience, and religious commitment. The study concludes that delayed divine response functions as a transformative mechanism of spiritual growth. Theoretically, it contributes to Islamic spiritual education and Sufi studies by integrating classical Sufi teachings with contemporary perspectives on spirituality, resilience, and religious coping.

Abstract

This study is based on the importance of character education in responding to moral challenges in contemporary society and the potential of literary works as a medium for internalizing Islamic values. Previous studies on Janji by Tere Liye generally focused on identifying character values, while the narrative mechanism underlying character formation has received limited attention. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the narrative algorithm of Islamic character education through the transformation of Bahar’s character in the novel Janji. The research employed a qualitative approach with a library research design. Data were collected through documentation techniques from the novel Janji and relevant academic literature, then analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña model, including data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal three stages of the narrative algorithm: moral degradation, moral reconstruction, and character crystallization. Bahar’s transformation develops through experiences of guilt, suffering, repentance, and social responsibility, ultimately producing a morally mature character who positively influences society. This study concludes that Islamic character education in literature is constructed through a gradual narrative process. The study contributes theoretically by introducing a narrative algorithm perspective and practically by strengthening the use of literary works as media for Islamic character education.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine efforts to optimize library management in fostering students’ reading interest. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed. Data were collected through direct observation, interviews with key informants, and document analysis. The informants consisted of the head of the library, the vice principal for curriculum affairs, and eleventh-grade students. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings revealed that library management optimization was implemented through four main aspects: collection quantity, collection management, library spatial arrangement, and literacy programs. The library collection was considered adequate, although students’ independent visitation rates remained relatively low. Collection management was conducted systematically and supported by digital library services; however, the availability of general reading materials still requires improvement. The library environment was found to be comfortable, clean, and well-organized, despite the need for maintenance of several facilities. Furthermore, structured literacy programs were effective in developing reading habits and enhancing students’ reading interest. The study implies that effective library management, supported by adequate resources and sustainable literacy programs, can contribute significantly to strengthening students’ reading culture and interest.

Abstract

This study aims to examine how Islamic educational institutions manage communication with single-parent families to support family-based Islamic education for fatherless children. Fatherlessness has become an urgent social and educational issue because the absence of paternal involvement may weaken children’s moral guidance, emotional security, and religious value formation. In Islamic educational contexts, this condition requires structured school–family collaboration to sustain character education beyond the classroom. This study employed a qualitative case study design in three Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis, and analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña. The first finding shows that intensive value-based communication enables schools to monitor children’s behavioral and religious development. The second finding reveals that participatory parental engagement strengthens single mothers’ parenting capacity through consultation, religious programs, and character guidance. The third finding indicates that value synchronization between school and home functions as a moral contract for character formation. These findings contribute to Islamic educational management by proposing an adaptive communication–education partnership model. Practically, the study offers guidance for schools in supporting fatherless children and single-parent families.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the leadership model and educational contributions of a female leader in Islamic education. Given the limited scholarly attention to women’s leadership in Islamic boarding schools, the research focuses on understanding how leadership practices influence educational quality and student character development. This research employed a qualitative case study approach. Data were collected through observations, in-depth interviews, and document analysis, and were analyzed using an interpretive framework to identify leadership patterns and their educational impacts. The findings reveal that the leader’s approach integrates transformational, spiritual, and nurturing leadership dimensions. This model enables the effective combination of institutional management with personalized guidance for students. Policies promoting financial independence, daily discipline, and character formation demonstrate the ability to harmonize traditional Islamic values with contemporary educational demands. As a result, students develop stronger moral integrity, resilience, responsibility, and self-reliance. The study implies that a holistic and contextual leadership model can strengthen the role of Islamic educational institutions in fostering inclusive, future-oriented, and civilization-building education. It also highlights the strategic contribution of female leadership in advancing educational innovation while preserving religious and cultural values.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the management concept of madrasah principals in improving leadership quality within Islamic educational institutions. The research employed a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method by examining relevant national and international journal articles published over the last ten years. The selected literature was identified, screened, analyzed, and synthesized systematically based on publication quality, relevance, and research focus. The findings reveal that effective madrasah principal management, encompassing planning, organizing, implementation, and supervision, significantly strengthens leadership quality, enhances teacher professionalism, promotes a positive organizational culture, and improves the overall quality of Islamic education. In addition, leadership supervision grounded in Islamic values, including amanah (trustworthiness), justice, and deliberation, supports sustainable and value-based leadership practices. The integration of managerial functions with Islamic leadership principles provides a comprehensive conceptual framework for strengthening leadership effectiveness in madrasahs. The study implies that adopting an integrated managerial and Islamic leadership approach can serve as a practical reference for madrasah principals while contributing to the theoretical development of Islamic educational management.

Abstract

This study aims to examine how AI-driven digital marketing contributes to smart school branding, particularly in enhancing institutional reputation and student enrollment in a selected senior high school context. The research employs a qualitative case study approach to explore the implementation process, stakeholder experiences, and outcomes of integrating artificial intelligence into digital marketing practices. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, non-participant observation, and documentation analysis, and analyzed using data condensation, data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing techniques. The findings indicate that AI-driven digital marketing improves branding effectiveness through optimized content management, enhanced communication efficiency, and better engagement with prospective students. The integration of AI tools such as analytics systems and chatbots supports faster information delivery and more structured promotional strategies, resulting in increased digital visibility and higher enrollment interest. However, the study also shows that human oversight remains essential to ensure alignment with institutional values and communication quality. The implications suggest that AI serves as a strategic enabler in educational branding, offering both theoretical enrichment for digital marketing studies and practical guidance for schools in adopting technology-driven branding systems.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the management of a character-based curriculum in an Islamic Senior High School using the Planning, Organizing, Actuating, and Controlling (POAC) management framework. A qualitative case study approach was employed to examine how character values are systematically integrated into the Independent Curriculum through curriculum planning, implementation, and evaluation. Data were collected from 20 participants, including teachers, vice principals, students, and parents, through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis. The data were analyzed using the interactive he support of NVivo 12. The findings indicate that character-based curriculum management was implemented effectively, achieving an overall effectiveness level of approximately 75%. Islamic values, including akhlakul karimah, discipline, and responsibility, were integrated through project-based learning, daily habituation, and pesantren-inspired activities. Nevertheless, the implementation faced challenges related to limited resources, insufficient teacher professional development, and the adaptation to post-pandemic hybrid learning. The study implies that continuous teacher training, digitalized character assessment systems, and stronger collaboration among school stakeholders are essential to enhance curriculum effectiveness and strengthen the Pancasila Student Profile with Rahmatan lil Alamin values.
