Abstract

Objective: This study aims to analyze the role of Conti Entertain, a digital entertainment platform, as a gateway to gambling behavior among adolescents, focusing on the challenges and potential solutions. With the rapid growth of digital technology, platforms like Conti Entertain, which integrate gaming and entertainment with monetary incentives, have increasingly attracted young audiences. Theoretical framework: Theoretical underpinnings of this research draw from theories of adolescent cognitive development, social influence, and digital consumer protection. Literature Review: A literature review highlights that digital gambling, particularly through mechanisms like loot boxes and random rewards, has become a growing concern within the digital entertainment ecosystem. Methods: This research adopts a qualitative methodology using a case study approach. Data collection methods include in-depth interviews with adolescents, parents, and experts in digital media, psychology, and law, along with content analysis of features within Conti Entertain that promote gambling tendencies. Results: The findings reveal that Conti Entertain significantly influences gambling-like behaviors through mechanisms such as loot boxes, random rewards, and monetization features that blur the line between gaming and gambling. Adolescents are particularly susceptible to these tactics due to their developing cognitive control and peer influence. The study identifies inadequate regulations and lack of parental supervision as major challenges aggravating the issue. Implications: The implications of this study underscore the necessity for stricter regulations on digital entertainment platforms to protect young users from exploitative monetization schemes. Parental awareness and active engagement in monitoring online activities are equally critical. Novelty: The novelty of this research lies in its focus on Conti Entertain as a specific case study within the broader digital gambling landscape. These findings contribute significantly to understanding the link between digital entertainment and gambling behavior among adolescents, offering practical solutions to address this pressing issue.

Abstract

Objective: This study examines the development of Zakat, Infaq, and Sadaqah (ZIS) systems in Egypt through a comprehensive literature review, focusing on historical, legal, and social perspectives. The research aims to explore the evolution of these Islamic financial tools, which have long served as mechanisms for wealth redistribution and social welfare within the Islamic economy. In the face of rising poverty, unemployment, and other socioeconomic challenges in modern Egypt, this study investigates how traditional ZIS practices can be adapted to contemporary needs. Theoretical framework: The theoretical framework is based on the principles of Islamic economics, particularly those addressing wealth redistribution, social justice, and poverty alleviation. Literature Review: The literature review draws on previous studies and reports to analyze changes in ZIS implementation, considering evolving legal frameworks, shifting social expectations, and dynamic economic conditions. By bridging the gap between historical practices and modern demands, the study highlights the critical role of ZIS in addressing poverty and inequality in Egypt. Methods: This qualitative research employs a systematic review method, synthesizing data from academic publications, government reports, and non-governmental studies to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities in the ZIS systems. Results: The findings reveal that while progress has been made in the institutionalization and modernization of ZIS in Egypt, significant challenges remain. Key issues include inefficiencies in collection and distribution mechanisms, lack of public trust, and insufficient legal and regulatory frameworks. These factors limit the effectiveness of ZIS in reaching vulnerable populations and maximizing their potential impact. The study concludes that further reforms are essential to enhance the role of ZIS in Egypt's socioeconomic development. Specifically, improvements in transparency, accountability, and integration with modern financial systems are necessary to align ZIS practices with contemporary realities. Implications: The findings have implications for policymakers, Islamic scholars, and financial institutions, emphasizing the need to create a sustainable and equitable framework for ZIS that addresses pressing issues such as poverty and inequality. Novelty: This research offers a novel contribution by integrating historical, legal, and social perspectives into the analysis of ZIS systems in Egypt, providing a comprehensive understanding of their development and contemporary challenges. It underscores the importance of adapting Islamic financial practices to meet modern demands, paving the way for future research on optimizing ZIS for social justice and economic growth in diverse contexts.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to analyze the existence of Islamic law in Indonesia in the millennial era in supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through the perspective of Maqashid Sharia. Theoretical framework: The theoretical framework used is the theory of Maqashid Syariah Al-Ghazali and Al-Shatibi which emphasizes the five main aspects of protection: religion, soul, intellect, heredity, and property. Literature Review: This review is based on a literature review that includes the development of Islamic law in Indonesia, its relevance to the goals of the SDGs, and the relevance of Maqashid Syariah as a conceptual framework to bridge between sharia principles and modern needs. Methods: The research method used is qualitative with a literature study approach. Data was obtained through the analysis of documents, such as Islamic law regulations in Indonesia, public policies related to the SDGs, and the latest scientific articles. The analysis was carried out in a descriptive-analytical manner to evaluate the contribution of Islamic law to social, economic, and environmental sustainability. Results: This study shows that Islamic law in Indonesia, such as zakat, waqf, and sharia financing, has contributed significantly to poverty alleviation (SDG 1), improvement of quality education (SDG 4), and reduction of inequality (SDG 10). The Maqashid Sharia approach allows Islamic law to continue to be relevant in facing the challenges of the millennial era, especially through adaptation to digital technology and inclusion-based economic development. Implications: This study shows that the strengthening of Islamic law based on Maqashid Sharia can be a unique and contextual model of sustainability for Indonesia. This result also encourages legislation and public policy to further integrate Islamic values in efforts to achieve the SDGs. Novelty: The novelty of this research lies in the merger of Islamic law, Maqashid Sharia, and SDGs in the context of the millennial era. This study offers a new perspective on how Islamic law is not only relevant but also instrumental in supporting the global development agenda while maintaining sharia principles. This integration provides a strategic framework for the development of Islamic law in Indonesia in supporting holistic and inclusive sustainability.

Abstract

Objective: This study examines the splendour and divine mastery reflected in the creation of the camel, highlighting its unique design and functionality as evidence of Allah’s signs in creation. The research aims to deepen understanding of the camel’s exceptional features from both theological and scientific perspectives, emphasizing its role in Islamic teachings as a symbol of reflection on God’s power. Theoretical framework: The theoretical framework combines Quranic verses and hadiths related to creation with modern scientific perspectives on the camel’s biological and ecological adaptations. Literature Review: The literature review encompasses previous studies that discuss the interconnection between the wonders of nature and the reinforcement of faith. Methods: The study employs a multidisciplinary approach, integrating textual analysis of Islamic sources with modern scientific research on the physiology and ecology of camels. The primary issue addressed is the lack of awareness among contemporary audiences about the profound lessons embedded in the natural world, particularly in the camel’s unique design. Results: The findings reveal that the camel’s physiological characteristics—such as its ability to endure extreme desert conditions, extraordinary water retention mechanisms, and efficient energy usage—serve as clear evidence of the deliberate and intricate design by the Creator. Implications: The study underscores the importance of reflecting on such creations to strengthen faith, foster gratitude, and inspire a harmonious relationship with nature. Novelty: The novelty of this research lies in its holistic approach, which integrates Islamic theology with modern science to demonstrate the divine wisdom underlying the natural world. This paper encourages a renewed appreciation for the marvels of creation, urging readers to look beyond the physical aspects and recognize the divine wisdom embedded in the universe.
