Abstract

Corruption is a chronic problem that can hinder development and damage the order of national life. Efforts to eradicate it cannot rely solely on legal approaches, but must be accompanied by preventive strategies through education. Anti-corruption education is seen as a strategic effort that is urgently needed to build values of honesty, integrity, responsibility, and justice. By fostering anti-corruption character through anti-corruption education in schools, it is hoped that a society will emerge that has the moral resilience and courage to reject corruption in all its forms. This article examines anti-corruption education in the national curriculum. The research method used a conceptual and normative approach through literature review and analysis of education policy. The results of the discussion show that anti-corruption education is relevant to the national education goal of developing students who are faithful, have noble character, are intelligent, and are responsible. Anti-corruption values can be implemented in schools through three approaches, namely integration into subjects, strengthening an open and accountable school culture, and participatory and extracurricular activities. Anti-corruption education in the national curriculum is urgently needed to shape a society that is honest, strong in character, transparent, and free from corruption.

Abstract

The role of the Kubu Raya Regency Regional Library in realizing a culture of community literacy can be said to have not run as expected. This is based on research that is constrained by the availability of budget funds and human resources. The research data was obtained from the results of observations and interviews with purposively selected research subjects. This type of descriptive research with a qualitative approach, the results of the research, the Kubu Raya Regency Regional Library has not played a role in realizing a culture of community literacy. This can be seen in the role of a Facilitator where the Regional Library has not been able to facilitate several facilities and infrastructure that support in realizing a literacy culture in several school libraries and Community Reading Gardens (TBM) in Kubu Raya Regency. Meanwhile, the role of Community Servant has been carried out according to its provisions. The role as a companion who is actually a partner in realizing a literacy culture based on the research results of the existing companions has never received training in any form so as to affect the ability as a companion. As a Partner, regional libraries have not fully carried out their role in fostering, supporting and collaborating in an effort to improve the literacy culture of the community with existing literacy enthusiasts. Meanwhile, the role as a funder, the regional library does not provide assistance in the form of funds but as an intermediary in literacy activists asking for assistance from the national library. Based on the results of the research, it is recommended: as a facilitator, regional libraries can innovate in accordance with their duties and responsibilities, as a companion can provide motivation, support and inspiration for literacy seekers. As a partner, regional libraries can partner with the private sector and play a role as Funders, due to their limitations, libraries can focus on important activities that have an impact on realizing a culture of community literacy

Abstract

Climate change has increased the frequency and intensity of hydrometeorological disasters in various regions of Indonesia, including Sungai Penuh City, Jambi Province. This city faces a high risk of flooding, landslides, and changes in rainfall patterns that directly impact the local economy, particularly agriculture and trade. This study aims to analyze the synergy between climate policy and local economic development through strengthening resilience to hydrometeorological disasters. The method used is a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis based on literature studies and secondary data. The results of the study show that the success of climate policy is highly dependent on cross-sector collaboration between local governments, businesses, and communities. Disaster resilience plays an important role as a link between climate adaptation and local economic stability. The main recommendation of this study is the need to integrate climate policy into regional development plans by strengthening early warning systems, adaptive spatial planning, and community-based green economy.

Abstract

Poetry stands as one of the most elevated forms of Arabic literature and served as a central medium through which pre-Islamic Arabs documented events, values, and social realities. Its composition follows a strict metrical system built upon tafʿīlāt (metrical feet), which may undergo prosodic modifications known as ʿilal. These alterations provide poets with stylistic flexibility, allowing them to select words that reflect their emotional and social conditions while enhancing the expressive impact of their verses. The scholarly debate over the necessity of adhering to these ʿilal prompted the researcher to examine how pre-Islamic poets approached them, focusing particularly on Zuhayr ibn Abī Sulmā—one of the most esteemed figures in early Arabic poetry. His reputation for meticulous craftsmanship, polishing each poem over the span of a full year, earned his works the title ḥawliyyāt (“yearly refined poems”). This study aims to assess the extent to which Zuhayr adhered to prosodic ʿilal through a qualitative analysis based on library research. The findings indicate that Zuhayr consistently followed the prescribed ʿillah in the ḍarb (the final foot of the verse), demonstrating strict compliance with traditional metrical rules in this position. However, his adherence in the ʿarūḍ (the penultimate foot) was variable; in some instances, he maintained conformity with the expected form, while in others he opted for alternative structures to achieve stylistic or expressive aims. These observations suggest that Zuhayr’s poetic precision did not preclude artistic flexibility but rather reflected a balanced approach that honored classical prosody while accommodating creative expression.

Abstract

This study explores the symbolic meanings embedded in the sacred Telek Jumpai Dance performed in Jumpai Village, Klungkung, Bali. The problem addressed in this research arises from the limited understanding of the symbolic functions of its movements and ritual properties, despite its long-standing role in maintaining spiritual balance within the community. The study aims to identify and interpret the symbolic meanings of the dance through the perspectives of local cultural actors. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with ten informants selected via purposive sampling, and documentation of ritual performances. The findings reveal that each component of the dance such as the white mask, fan, headdress, and core movements acts as a symbolic medium in the communication between the physical (sekala) and spiritual (niskala) realms. Movements like nyalud, nyeregseg ngemapat, aras-arasan, and ngotes represent purification, protection, balance, and spiritual alertness. The community perceives Telek Jumpai not merely as an artistic tradition but as a sacred cultural identity, functioning as a guardian symbol, a unifying force, and a transmitter of ancestral values to younger generations.

Abstract

This study examines the political communication strategies of the Jaya-Wibawa couple to form their leadership image through the @jayawibawadenpasar Instagram account in the 2024 Denpasar Regional Elections, based on the Elaboration Likelihood Model (ELM) framework. The methodology used is qualitative descriptive, which is carried out by observing the content and responses from the comment column, completing digital documentation, literature studies, and conducting in-depth interviews with members of the Jaya-Wibawa couple's campaign team. The findings of this study indicate that this couple's communication approach is built on two main categories, namely incidental content and persuasive content, which complement each other to achieve engagement and appeal to young voters. The application of ELM theory can be seen in the merger of two persuasion paths. The central path emerges through data-driven content, explanations of programs, and policy arguments that encourage high elaboration, which is demonstrated by the audience's critical comments on the effectiveness of the program and the sustainability of public policy. Meanwhile, peripheral pathways are more visible through aesthetic visual elements, music, symbols of unity, and emotional touches that create a positive impression without deep analysis. The merger of these two channels of persuasion has succeeded in increasing the electability of candidate pairs. This study confirms that Instagram plays the role of an interactive and live-action political communication platform, which is able to strengthen the legitimacy of candidates and encourage the participation of young voters through a lightweight, visual, and accessible campaign approach.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has changed the government's public communication pattern and demands an increase in the competence of public relations personnel in managing digital media-based communication. This research aims to analyze the competencies and practices of digital public relations in government agencies in West Kalimantan, as well as identify challenges and opportunities to strengthen public relations in the digital era. The research uses a qualitative approach with a case study design in five government agencies, namely Tanjungpura University, Pontianak State Polytechnic, West Kalimantan Regional Police, Singkawang Resort Police, and Kubu Raya Regency Communication and Information Service. Data collection was carried out through in-depth interviews, observations of digital media management, and analysis of documentation and social media content. The results of the study show that the level of competence and maturity of digital PR between agencies varies. The West Kalimantan Police and the Pontianak State Polytechnic show that digital public relations practices are relatively more adaptive and structured, while other agencies still face limitations in terms of human resources, digital training, and creative content development. In general, digital public relations management still tends to be informative and one-way, with a level of public interaction that is not optimal. This study concludes that strengthening human resource competence, institutional support, and creative and participatory digital communication strategies are the main keys in increasing the effectiveness of government public relations in the digital era.

Abstract

Purpose: This study examines the concept of forgiveness in the Qur’an by integrating semantic, normative, and psychosocial perspectives, with the aim of clarifying its role in character formation and mental well-being. Methodology: Using a qualitative library-based approach, the study analyzes Qur’anic verses, Prophetic hadith, and classical as well as contemporary exegesis through linguistic–semantic, comparative exegetical, and normative–ethical analysis. Findings: The Qur’an presents forgiveness as a hierarchical ethical system comprising al-‘afw (relinquishing retaliation), aṣ-ṣafḥ (inner magnanimity), and al-maghfirah (moral and social protection). Forgiveness is positioned as a higher moral choice beyond justice, contributing to tazkiyat al-nafs, emotional regulation, mental tranquility, and the formation of Qur’anic character. Research Implication: The findings provide an integrative ethical framework applicable to Islamic character education, conflict resolution, and mental health discourse. Originality: This study offers a holistic Qur’anic model of forgiveness by systematically integrating theological, ethical, and psychospiritual dimensions within a single analytical framework.
