Abstract

Objective: This activity aims to increase the insight, knowledge, and capacity of Islamic financial literacy as well as the management of ZISWAF within the Muhammadiyah Regional Executive (PDM) of Kubu Raya through an empowerment and mentoring program based on Participatory Action Research (PAR). Theoretical framework: The activity is grounded in Islamic financial literacy, focusing on understanding sharia-compliant asset management and optimizing ZISWAF for community empowerment, supported by the theory of community empowerment and active participation in financial transformation. Literature review: The study highlights Islamic financial literacy, including sharia-compliant wealth management and long-term financial planning, and the role of ZISWAF in social welfare. Previous research shows that improving financial literacy enhances financial management aligned with Sharia principles. Methods: The research uses a qualitative method with a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach through three main stages: observation and reflection to identify literacy needs; planning and implementation of actions in the form of counseling and mentoring; and evaluation to assess the improvement of participants' understanding of ZISWAF-based financial planning. Results: The activity resulted in an increase in the understanding of the administrators and residents of Muhammadiyah PDM Kubu Raya regarding the urgency of Islamic financial literacy and the management of ZISWAF. Participants are able to understand and begin to implement Islamic financial planning, including the priority allocation of funds for zakat, infaq, alms, and long-term Islamic financial planning measures. Implications: The program strengthens the Muhammadiyah community's ability to manage sharia-based finances systematically, promoting sustainable financial practices and serving as a model for other Islamic communities. Novelty: The activity’s novelty lies in applying the PAR approach to Islamic financial literacy and ZISWAF education, making participants active learners and contributors to their financial planning, thus enhancing the program’s sustainability and relevance.

Abstract

Objective: A crucial element of the modern digital ecosystem is data privacy. A comparable viewpoint is seen in the realm of e-commerce, which has emerged as the primary economic engine on a global scale. The growth in the consumer base and the sheer quantity of data being transferred within the e-commerce platforms constitute a serious risk. In compliance with international regulations, e-commerce platforms are implementing data privacy rules that include transparent and control-centric processes. Theoretical framework: The current study explored how Malaysian e-commerce enterprises' commercial performance is fueled by data privacy rules' control and transparency components. A two-pronged approach was taken in conducting the research using qualitative and quantitative methodology. Literature review: First, the transparency and control features of the data privacy policies of a chosen group of e-commerce enterprises were qualitatively benchmarked. The findings indicated that while Carousell, Ezbuy, and Mudah are some of the e-commerce companies with low levels of transparency and control practices, Methods: Lazada and Shopee have the highest levels of transparency and control practices within their data privacy policies. Subsequently, the analysis was further triangulated with a quantitative analysis from 379 respondents. The data processing and results indicate the increased transparency & control of data privacy policy practices for business performance of e-commerce companies. It includes the internal, performance, and practice benchmarking for e-commerce platforms operating in Malaysia. Results: There is specific stress on the transparency and control sections of data privacy for each of the e-commerce platforms operating in Malaysia. Implications: This research recommends the transparent and controlled review of the data privacy policies on the e-commerce platforms for effective communication, privacy, and behavioral business decisions. Novelty: the study will help setting corporate digital business to ensure cybersecurity and trust of the customer in Malaysia. The serious concern of customer digital information is aptly and rightly channeled to make further customer satisfied. The study output will help policy makers to enhance business with the trust of the customer for the obtained information.

Abstract

Objective: This study examines how propaganda in Sjafruddin Prawiranegara’s speech through Radio YBJ-6 functioned as an effective political communication strategy of PDRI during the 1948 crisis, focusing on religious messaging, moral persuasion, and narrative framing to sustain resistance and governmental legitimacy. Theoretical framework: The analysis is based on political communication, propaganda, and framing theories that emphasize persuasive messaging, crisis communication, and symbolic legitimacy within emergency political contexts. Literature review: The review discusses Propaganda Theory, PDRI historical studies, religious messaging in nationalist movements, and radio broadcasting as a wartime communication medium. Methods: Using a qualitative literature-based approach and content analysis, data were collected from historical documents, PDRI archives, and prior research. Analysis followed Miles and Huberman’s stages with a within-case method to identify thematic and persuasive elements. Results: The study finds that Sjafruddin’s propaganda effectively mobilized the military and civilians through religious narratives, moral contrast with Dutch aggression, and calls for unity. Despite a limited communication infrastructure, Radio YBJ-6 successfully reached domestic and international audiences, sustaining morale and legitimacy. Implication: The research highlights the strategic use of religious-moral narratives and radio communication in maintaining state continuity and influencing public sentiment during crises. Novelty: This study proposes a religious-moral propaganda framing model that explains PDRI’s hybrid use of spiritual rhetoric, nationalist appeal, and political legitimacy in a constrained communication environment.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to analyze the historical traces of Islamic economic civilization in Southeast Asia, with a focus on the transformation of the economic system in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Brunei Darussalam, from the era of the Sultanate to the development of modern Sharia banks. Theoretical framework: This study uses Islamic economic concepts such as the prohibition of usury, distributive justice (adl), and social welfare (falah), as well as the theory of institutional transformation and economic history, to analyze changes in the Islamic economic system. Literature review: The literature review includes a study of Islamic economics, the history of Islamic civilization in Southeast Asia, and the development of Islamic banks. The focus is on how Islamic economic principles are applied in the modern banking system and the role of the Sharia Supervisory Board in maintaining economic morality. Method: This study uses a qualitative method with a literature study, collecting data from various historical and contemporary sources to understand the transformation of the Islamic economic system in the Southeast Asian region.  Results: The results show the continuity of Islamic economic values, such as the prohibition of usury and distributive justice, from the Sultanate to the implementation of Sharia Bank products based on profit sharing (mudharabah/musharakah). Sharia banks also play a role in the management of social funds and the supervision of economic morality. Implications: These findings can strengthen a more equitable and ethical economic system in Southeast Asia by strengthening Islamic economic principles in the context of contemporary economics and the role of Islamic banks. Novelty: This study combines the study of the history of Islamic economics with the development of Islamic banks, providing new insights into the relevance of Islamic economic values in the framework of modern economics, as well as recommending cross-disciplinary research to understand the evolution of this system.

Abstract

Objective: The phenomenon of increasing promiscuous sexual behavior in today's society shows a significant shift in moral values. The purpose of this study is to examine the correlation between this phenomenon and the commemoration of the Apocalypse in Surah Al-Hajj 1-2 and the saheeh hadiths related to Asyrat al-Sa'ah. Theoretical framework: This research refers to the approach of the study of Surah Al-Hajj verses 1-2, its correlation with the Punishment at the time of the Apocalypse. Literature review: Classical and Contemporary Interpretations combined with theories of social deviance. Method: This study uses a qualitative method with a literature approach, in the form of thematic interpretation and hadith studies, where the main source is Al-Hajj verses 1-2, and the secondary source is classical and contemporary tafsir books, as well as journals about Zina with semantic analysis.  Results: The results of the study show that there is a correlation between punishment and the Apocalypse (great), where the great apocalypse contains the greatest and most devastating set of punishments that have occurred since humans lived, and the thing that most affects the occurrence of punishment is acts that deviate from the rules of Allah SWT. Implications: This study highlights the importance of being aware of the rampant practice of adultery among the community as a form of caution for the coming of the Punishment and the Apocalypse. Novelty: This study offers a new perspective by linking the psychology of fear in Surah Al-Hajj 1-2 as a direct response to the normalization of adultery in the digital age, a correlation rarely discussed in contemporary sekaological literature.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to analyze the mention of mosquitoes in QS. Al-Baqarah verse 26 through Tafsir Al-Azhar by Buya Hamka, and explores the relevance of the symbolism to modern scientific knowledge. Theoretical framework: This study combines two approaches: classical interpretations, especially the Al-Azhar Interpretation, which interprets mosquitoes as a symbol of Allah's greatness, and scientific approaches that highlight biology, ecology, and the role of mosquitoes in public health. Literature review: The literature review includes Al-Azhar's interpretation of symbolism in the Qur'an as well as scientific literature on the biology and ecological role of mosquitoes, including their impact on health as a vector of disease. Method: Qualitative method is used with a literature study approach. Data were obtained from the analysis of the text of the Qur'an, Tafsir Al-Azhar, and related scientific literature.  Results:  The study found that Hamka views mosquitoes as a symbol of God's greatness and as a medium of spiritual education. Scientifically, mosquitoes have complex biological structures and play an important role in ecosystems and public health. Implications: This research connects revelation and science, enriching understanding of the role of God's creation, both from a spiritual and scientific perspective, and providing moral lessons about humility. Novelty:  This research integrates the interpretation of the Qur'an with modern science, demonstrates the relevance between religious symbolism and scientific phenomena, and opens up new insights into understanding the relationship between revelation and human knowledge.

Abstract

Objective:  This research aimed to improve fourth-grade students' ability to perform the traditional Kabela dance at SD Laboratorium Universitas Negeri Gorontalo using audio-visual media. Theoretical framework: The study is based on multimodal learning, particularly multimedia learning theory, which suggests that combining visual and auditory elements enhances understanding and coordination, especially in kinesthetic activities like dance. Literature review:  Previous studies highlight the effectiveness of audio-visual media in teaching dance by providing clear visual models, improving movement replication, and fostering engagement. It also emphasizes the importance of cultural competence in dance education. Methods: A classroom action research design was employed with two cycles, each consisting of two meetings. Data were collected through observations, performance tests, and documentation, assessing students' skills in movement, rhythm, and expression. Results: The results revealed a significant improvement in students’ performance in the Kabela dance after the implementation of audio-visual media. In the first cycle, only 8 students (44%) achieved satisfactory performance. However, in the second cycle, 16 students (89%) demonstrated mastery of the dance movements. The use of audio-visual media was shown to be an effective tool in enhancing students' understanding, coordination, and expression in performing the Kabela dance. Implications: The study suggests that audio-visual media is an effective tool for teaching traditional dance and improving students' cultural and artistic competence, especially in Seni Budaya dan Prakarya (SBDP) subjects. Novelty: This research introduces the use of audio-visual media to teach the Kabela dance, showing its potential to enhance dance learning outcomes and cultural appreciation in primary education.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to critically analyze the degradation of labor rights in Indonesia during the Omnibus Law era, focusing on its implications for worker welfare and protection, particularly how it affects job security, wages, and workers' social rights. Theoretical framework: The theoretical framework of this study is rooted in social justice theory, legal protection theory, and industrial relations theory. These frameworks emphasize the state's responsibility to ensure basic workers' rights, secure employment, fair wages, and a balanced relationship between workers, employers, and the government. Literature review: The literature review highlights that previous studies have primarily concentrated on the economic and investment dimensions of labor laws, with limited exploration of the social, humanitarian, and normative consequences. There is a lack of comprehensive research addressing the broader impacts of labor rights erosion, particularly in relation to worker welfare and protection. Methods: This study employs a qualitative research design based on a literature review. Secondary data sources are utilized, including scientific journals, laws and regulations, Constitutional Court decisions, labor organization reports, and relevant policy documents. Results: The findings reveal that the Omnibus Law not only simplifies regulatory frameworks but also shifts the focus of labor protection towards economic flexibility. This shift leads to reduced severance pay, increased outsourcing without sectoral boundaries, uncertainty regarding employment status, potential declines in wages, and the erosion of leave rights and social protections. These changes undermine workers' bargaining power, increase their vulnerability to exploitation, and negatively affect mental health, economic stability, and human dignity. Implications: This study highlights the need for a comprehensive evaluation of labor regulations, stronger state oversight, and a restructured labor policy that balances investment interests with worker protection. Novelty: The study’s novelty lies in its approach, viewing the Omnibus Law not just as an economic tool but as a social justice issue, emphasizing the real-life experiences of workers impacted by these changes.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to develop a cluster development model for Batik Harmoni MSMEs in North Sumatra using the Analytic Network Process (ANP) to identify priority solutions and strategies in the post-COVID-19 era. Theoretical Framework: This study is based on the theory of MSME cluster development, performance-based competitiveness, and crisis resilience theory, considering the interdependence between internal capabilities and external environmental factors. Literature Review: Criteria and Performance of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME), The Relationship between MSME Clusters and Business Performance, The Source of Working Capital, The Relationship between HR and Business Performance, The Connection Between Marketing Mix and Business Performance. Method: A mixed qualitative-quantitative approach was used through focus group discussions, in-depth interviews, and paired comparison questionnaires involving seven expert participants, with data processed using Super Decisions software and analyzed through priority weighting and Kendall's concordance coefficient. Results: The findings indicate that internal solutions are the highest priority, led by performance, followed by human resources, marketing mix, and business size, with total sales and profit margin as key performance indicators, training as the top human resource solution, product as the dominant marketing mix element, and working capital as the main business size factor. Externally, the economic environment during COVID-19, working capital, and government support, particularly technological assistance, were the most influential factors. Implications: The results suggest that post-pandemic MSME cluster development should prioritize strengthening internal performance supported by technology-based policies and institutional support. Novelty: This study offers an integrated ANP-based development model that systematically links the internal and external determinants of the resilience and competitiveness of batik MSME clusters in developing countries.
