Abstract

This study examines the influence of organizational support with the role of work-life balance and employee engagement on performance among fire department personnel in Padang City and Pariaman City. The research utilizes a quantitative approach with a causal research design, involving 290 respondents selected through purposive sampling technique. Data analysis was conducted using Structural Equation Modeling with Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) through SmartPLS 4.0 software. The results indicate that work-life balance has a significant positive effect on performance (?=0.661, p<0.001), and employee engagement has a significant positive effect on performance (?=0.041, p=0.006). Organizational support significantly influences work-life balance (?=0.514, p<0.001) and employee engagement (?=0.686, p<0.001). However, the direct effect of organizational support on performance shows a minimal coefficient (?=0.000, p=0.010). The indirect effects reveal that work-life balance mediates the relationship between organizational support and performance (?=0.340, p<0.001), and employee engagement also mediates this relationship (?=0.368, p=0.010). These findings suggest that organizational support does not directly improve performance but works through enhancing work-life balance and employee engagement. The study contributes to human resource management literature by demonstrating the importance of dual mediation mechanisms in high-risk occupational contexts.

Abstract

Multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) poses a significant challenge to TB control efforts in Indonesia, primarily due to its complex, long-term treatment and significant drug side effects. To date, there is no comprehensive evaluation data on treatment outcomes and quality of life of MDR-TB patients at Raden Mattaher Regional Hospital, Jambi Province. This study aims to evaluate treatment outcomes and health-related quality of life in MDR-TB patients, as well as to identify predictors influencing therapy outcomes. This study used an observational   design with a retrospective approach, analyzing medical records of MDR-TB patients from 2020 to 2024. The WHOQOL-BREF instrument was used to measure quality of life. Bivariate and multivariate analyses were conducted to evaluate the association between patient characteristics and treatment outcomes. Most MDR-TB patients demonstrated successful treatment outcomes, but quality of life in the physical (score 45.2) and environmental (score 48.5) domains was relatively low. Side effects of second-line drugs, such as nausea, neuropathy, and hearing loss, contributed to the low physical domain scores. Multivariate test results showed that comorbid diabetes mellitus (DM) was a significant predictor of treatment outcomes (p = 0.007). The quality of life of MDR-TB patients at Raden Mattaher Regional Hospital in Jambi remains low, primarily influenced by side effects of therapy and the presence of comorbidities such as DM, which have been shown to impact treatment outcomes. More integrated interventions between TB management and comorbidities are urgently needed. Patients should be educated about side effects and the importance of treatment adherence. Hospitals are advised to improve side effect monitoring and integrate comorbidity management.

Abstract

Generative artificial intelligence (Generative AI) is one of the most disruptive technologies in the global digital economy. Its presence not only brings opportunities for innovation, but also poses geopolitical challenges, especially in the context of the fragmentation of the global digital economy known as the splinternet. Indonesia, with the largest digital economy potential in Southeast Asia, risks becoming a passive consumer of foreign technology that can weaken national sovereignty. This study aims to analyze the implications of global digital economy fragmentation on Indonesia's national sovereignty, evaluate the role of generative AI in supporting or weakening this sovereignty, and formulate policy strategies that can strengthen Indonesia's position in international digital economy governance. The research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with normative-empirical analysis. Data was obtained through literature studies, analysis of policy documents, and in-depth interviews with regulators, industry players, and academics. The data analysis technique was carried out by thematic analysis and content analysis of international documents and national regulations related to AI. The results of the study show that global digital fragmentation puts Indonesia in a vulnerable position as a technology adopter, with the risk of dependence on foreign platforms. This dependence has an impact on weakening data sovereignty, reduced regulatory independence, and increasing national security vulnerabilities. However, there are opportunities through three main strategies: strengthening national regulations, developing local innovations based on Indonesian data, and digital diplomacy in international forums.

Abstract

The capital Dili of east Timor is currently undergoing rapid changes for urban development toward more modern and globalized city. With the increasing urban population, Dili has become one of the most crowded cities in east Timor prone to conflict and violence. With The growth of urban population and the limited access to public transports force many people infavor of private transportation for their daily activities. However, most of the people using private transportations such as; motorbikes, cars and many other vehicles are often lacked the knowledge and understanding of the health and safety related issues when using their vehicle. Although the relevant institutions and traffic police regularly campaigned and socialiasing the health and safety precaution when using and operating any types of vehicles. However, with the installation of CCTV(Closed Circuit Television)technology have given traffic police the opportunity to develop traffic control managenement effectively and prevent accidents through CCTV surveillance. The installation of CCTV not only monitoring and recording traffic activities on the roads, but it’s enabling the police and local authority to monitor and analyze the situation in public areas such as; shopping mall, city centre, parking area, public park. The installation of CCTV program in the context of social order, with the aims were to maintaining public safety and security, reduce crime and emergency response. Hence, the CCTV is widely arguably the most effective toolfor law enforcement officers or security officials to maintain social order and prevent crime and criminality. The major theories used to analyze the results of this research are social control theory, strategy theory and effectiveness theory. Aspects of control, strategy and effectiveness become measures for the researcher to analyze and interpret the use of CCTV to supervise vehicles that use public roads in the city of Dili related to the existing road code. The descriptive qualitative method is a natural and holistic approach to explore, understand, and explain complex phenomena from the perspective of individuals or groups. Data collection process through observation, interview and documentation. All data collected will be analyzed using the Milles and Huberman interactive model and Swot Analysis. The basic result of this research is that the CCTV installed by the National Police on the public roads in the capital Dili is in a good condition in terms of camera and image capture. Most public roads, especially the main road in Dili, have installed CCTV. However, there are some public roads that have not been installed. In fact, only two cases (accident and incident) have used CCTV as evidence. Ineffectiveness in managing the use of CCTV to control violation cases due to lack of resources such as facilities, personnel skills and the number of personnel who conduct CCTV monitoring. The cost of paying telecommunications operators is high, but its use for control is more cases whose volume per day is small (accidents and incidents) than cases of infringement that per day CCTV accept many.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has forced rapid changes. To support this acceleration of change, employees' innovative behavior is essential. Innovative behavior serves as a construct for generating ideas and implementing them. This study aims to develop a model of innovative behavior influenced by job design, with a moderating perspective of knowledge sharing and a mediating perspective of intrinsic motivation. The sample in this study consists of 258 respondents, with data analysis techniques using SEM-PLS and WarpPLS 7.0. The findings indicate that job design has a significant positive effect on intrinsic motivation, knowledge sharing, and employees' innovative behavior. Intrinsic motivation serves as a mediator, influencing the indirect relationship between job design and innovative behavior, partially mediating this relationship. Meanwhile, knowledge sharing as a moderator strengthens the relationship between job design and innovative behavior among employees. This suggests that knowledge exchange among employees generates information related to the pandemic, facilitating opportunities and changes through creative solution concepts that promote and implement their innovative ideas in the workplace.

Abstract

This study aims to examine and analyze the influence of transformational leadership and compensation on sustainable employee performance, with work motivation serv-ing as a mediating variable, in the context of PT. Sumber Indah Lestari. A quantita-tive approach was employed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) as the analytical method. Data were gathered through question-naires distributed to 150 store leaders (firstmen) who participated as respondents. The findings indicate that transformational leadership has a positive and significant impact on work motivation and directly affects sustainable employee performance. Compensation also demonstrates a significant influence on work motivation, but does not have a direct significant effect on sustainable performance. However, work motivation is proven to significantly mediate the relationship between both trans-formational leadership and compensation with sustainable employee performance. These results highlight the importance of inspirational, supportive, and visionary leadership, reinforced by a fair and transparent compensation system that aligns with employee contributions. The managerial implications of this research empha-size the need to strengthen transformational leadership practices at the operational level and to review and improve compensation systems to better motivate employees and enhance long-term productivity. Furthermore, this study contributes to the theo-retical development of sustainable employee performance, particularly in the mod-ern retail sector in Indonesia, by integrating motivation as a key mediating factor in organizational performance strategies.

Abstract

Transport Layer Security (TLS) protects most internet traffic, yet its Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) operations can fail catastrophically when randomness is biased or predictable. This study presents a standards-compliant way to harden ECC in TLS by injecting Quantum Random Number Generator (QRNG) entropy into three critical points: (i) private-key generation, (ii) ECDHE ephemeral-scalar selection, and (iii) (optionally) ECDSA per-message nonces while preserving RFC 8446 interoperability. We design a lightweight entropy pipeline that mixes QRNG output with the operating system’s CSPRNG using a keyed extractor, and we implement a reproducible Python toolchain (CLI/GUI) for signing/verification with ECDSA (P-256). Randomness is assessed with Shannon entropy and a subset of NIST SP 800-22 tests (e.g., frequency/monobit, runs, serial, approximate entropy) on multi-megabyte streams; functional tests validate signature correctness and TLS-like key-agreement flows. Results show that QRNG-mixed streams provide near-maximal entropy and stable bit balance, and that keys and ephemeral scalars derived from the mixed source remain unpredictable even under PRNG state-compromise assumptions. The approach integrates transparently with existing ECC stacks, and practical overhead is minimal because entropy is buffered. We discuss residual risks (QRNG availability, health testing, secure transport from device to host) and outline extensions for explicit nonce control and broader TLS handshake coverage. This work contributes a pragmatic, deployable artifact complete with code and evaluation scriptsthat institutes stronger entropy hygiene for ECC within TLS as organizations plan their transition to post-quantum cryptography.
