Abstract

The success of learning in schools cannot be separated from planning appropriate learning strategies and learning tools used by teachers in the classroom. The learning device is used by the teacher as a benchmark to see how far the teacher has succeeded in teaching which can be seen when a method in the learning tool is applied. This research aims to produce science learning tools using the STEM approach to train problem solving abiliy and students activeness on global warming material that is suitable for use to support the learning process. The development procedure in this research refers to the ADDIE development model. Data collection techniques obtained by the method of observation, questionnaires, and documentation. Based on the results of the research, it shows that the learning tools developed have characteristics, including: learning tools with a STEM approach so that they refer to the disciplines of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics; using leaflet media as a learning medium that is used to convey information; taking the theme of global warming as the main subject; there are indicators of problem solving abilities in the learning tools developed; and there are indicators of activity in the learning tools developed. The results of the feasibility test analysis based on the percentage of validation on the presentation and material aspects, namely the syllabus obtained a percentage of 94.60%, lesson plans obtained a percentage of 94.46%, student discussion sheet obtained a percentage of 93.50%, test questions obtained a percentage of 93.34%, the observation sheet obtained a percentage of 95.42%, and the leaflet media obtained a percentage of 97.50%. Meanwhile, the leaflet media also obtained a percentage based on the results of the student response questionnaire on the validity, practicality, and effectiveness aspects of 89.56% which means that the leaflet media is very good to be used to assist the delivery of material in the learning process. Based on this, it can be concluded that science learning tools using the STEM approach to train problem solving abiliy and students activeness on global warming material are very suitable for support the learning process

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas model pembelajaran problem solving untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep peserta didik pada materi kalor. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode quasi experimental, dengan desain jenis pretest-posttest control group design. Subyek penelitian diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas X-IA3 dan kelas X-IA5 di SMA Negeri 11 Banda Aceh. Data penelitian ini dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan tes pilihan ganda. Data dianalisis menggunakan program Microsoft Excel. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran problem solving dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep peserta didik dengan pretes 70, posttes 100 dan n-gain 90,17. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model problem solving efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep peserta didik.

Abstract

Analytical thinking is one of the thinking skills that must be possessed by prospective teacher students, especially in studying HPLC material. The COVID-19 pandemic has caused limited practicum activities, so the MMI HPLC is expected to be a solution for students in learning the concept as a whole and continue to develop analytical thinking skils. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of using HPLC Interactive Multimedia, either directly or indirectly, on the analytical thinking skills of prospective teacher students described through path analysis using the Structural Equation Model (SEM) approach based on variance or Partial Least Square (PLS). This study uses a quantitative approach through a questionnaire which is measured on a Likert scale. Based on the seven latent variables of student perception, the aspect of material meaningfulness when using MMI HPLC (X3) has a very strong influence in increasing student interest, motivation, curiosity, and activeness. Interest, motivation, curiosity, and activeness of students have an effect on building students' analytical thinking skills. On the meaningfulness material variable, it consists of 2 indicators, namely the media used to clarify students' understanding of the learning material and the media used appropriately and in accordance with the learning method. PLS SEM analysis is effectively used to analyze pathways or determine the effect of using HPLC interactive multimedia on students' analytical thinking skills through the provision of student questionnaires

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengembangkan lembar kerja peserta didik (LKPD) berbasis pendekatan scientific pada konsep larutan penyangga. LKPD divalidasi oleh para pakar dan diuji cobakan pada peserta didik. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah melihat hasil belajar, aktivitas  dan tanggapan peserta didik. Penelitian dilakukan di SMA Negeri 11 Banda Aceh dengan menggunakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode penelitian reasearch and development (RD). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode  kuasi eksperimen dengan desain Pre –test and Post-test Group. Rata-rata skor penilaian para pakar sebesar 3,28 (baik). Hasil uji coba LKPD menunjukkan bahwa 95,31% guru dan 97,5% peserta didik memberikan respon positif terhadap LKPD. Hasil uji normalitas dan homogenitas menunjukkan bahwa data homogen dan berdistribusi normal. Hasil uji-t diperoleh thitungttabel (4,582,072) yang artinya terjadi perbedaan hasil belajar yang signifikan antara kedua kelas. Aktivitas peserta didik juga menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yaitu kelas eksperimen menunjukkan aktivitas yang lebih baik daripada kelas kontrol. Peserta didik juga memberikan tanggapan yang positif terhadap penggunaan LKPD, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran dengan menggunakan LKPD berbasis pendekatan scientific dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar dan aktivitas peserta didik.

Abstract

The need for learning innovation is indispensable as a result of the development of the 21st century. In the 21st century learning there is a shift in student-centered learning from teacher-centered learning including physics learning. Physics learning requires innovation by not only doing learning activities in the classroom. Learning that is always done in class will make students become bored. Innovation of learning activities can be done in the laboratory as an appropriate alternative compared to conventional learning in the classroom. On the other hand in learning physics the skills that students must possess are skills in verbal, graphic and mathematical representations (R-VGM). Meaningful Investigation Laboratory (MIL) Learning Model is a 21st century learning innovation. The 21st century learning model has precondition, investigation, report, and reinforcement syntactic. In the first syntax, precondition, the R-VGM skill is developed from the opening question of physical phenomena. In the second syntax, namely investigation, R-VGM skills can be developed from scientific inquiry. In the third syntactic report, R-VGM skills can be developed from reporting the results of scientific investigations in and group discussions. In the fourth syntax, namely reinforcement, R-VGM skills can be developed from the matter of reinforcement. And in the fifth syntactic, reflection, R-VGM skills can be developed from the connection and reinforcement of the learning completed.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media puzzle pada materi pencemaran lingkungan. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian dan pengembangan. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan lembar penilaian kelayakan media. Media  puzzle telah dikembangkan melalui beberapa tahapan, yang dinamakan dengan model ADDIE yaitu, terdiri dari  analisis, desain, pengembangan, implementasi dan evaluasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa persentase rata-rata yang diperoleh dari kelayakan media puzzle yaitu 83,35% dengan kategori sangat layak. Berdasarkan rincian aspeknya, maka kelayakan media berdasarkan aspek format media ditemukan sebesar 79,20 persen dengan kategori layak, dan berdasarkan kejelasan dalam penyajian konsep atau isi materi adalah sebesar 81,25 persen dengan kategori sangat layak. Selanjutnya, kelayakan berdasarkan aspek penyajian bahasa yang digunakan dan fungsi media berturut-turut adalah 81,25 dan 91,70 persen, dengan kategori sangat layak. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa media puzzle layak digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran.

Abstract

The era of globalization demands human resources who have the ability to solve problems. The observation results found that students lack problem solving skills and the formation of an attitude of caring for the environment. This study aims to produce a virtual experimental learning model for ecosystem material based on augmented reality to improve students' problem-solving and environmental care attitudes that are feasible, practical and effective. This research is development  using the 4D model developed by S. Thiagarajan which consists of 4 stages, namely definition, planning, development and deployment. This research was conducted at SMP N 1 Salam. The research design used a pretest-posttest control group design. The results showed that: 1) virtual experiments on the SETS learning model for ecosystem material based on augmented reality was assessed for its feasibility by material experts in the very good category, media experts in the good category, and science teachers in the good category; 2) can improve problem solving skills as indicated by the highest n-gain score, namely experimental class VII E, namely 0.7. The results of the calculation of the Manova test, a significant value of 0.00 was obtained. These results indicate that in the final condition after treatment there is a significant difference in the average problem solving and environmental care attitude between the experimental class and the control class. It can be concluded that virtual experiment of the SETS learning model for AR-based ecosystem material is used by teachers to improve problem solving skills and students' environmental care attitudes

Abstract

Molecular geometry is a subject that many students find difficult to understand. This is because students have to imagine those molecules in order to fully understand the content. To help students understand those concepts, the learning meda that can be seen directly is needed. This study aims to produce students’ worksheet (LKPD) on molecular geometry and a Hy-Kit (Hybridization Kit) based on discovery learning. In addition, the validity and students’ responses also measured towards those LKPD and Hy-Kit. The LKPD was arranged based on discovery learning model and equipped with Hy-Kit. The research method is a research and development using the ADDIE model. The test of the product was carried out twice. These are group tests (limited tests) and field tests. The result of the study that discovery learning-based LKPD and Hy-Kit had a validity level of materials aspect, the level of media aspect and level of bahasa aspect were k=1.00 with very high category. The response of students for the group test and for the field test were k= 0.89 and k=0.90 which means very good/valid/very interested. Both results indicates that the LKPD and Hy-Kit are valid, feasible and ready to use in the learning process

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pembelajaran model CIRC untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar dan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi koloid. Desain penelitian yang digunakan The Randomized Control-Group Pretest-Posttest. Penelitian dilaksanakan di kelas XI  SMA Negeri 12 Banda Aceh tahun pelajaran 2012/2013. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan pemberian tes awal, tes akhir untuk hasil belajar dan keterampilan berpikir kritis, lembar observasi, dan angket. Pengolahan data dilakukan dengan statistika uji t untuk pengujian kesamaan dua rata-rata. Hasil penelitian diperoleh rata-rata N-gain hasil belajar untuk kelompok eksperimen 0,54 dan 0,34 untuk kelompok kontrol, keterampilan berpikir kritis 0,57 untuk kelompok eksperimen dan 0,25 untuk kelompok kontrol. Hasil uji t untuk N-gain terhadap hasil belajar dan keterampilan berpikir kritis diperoleh terdapat perbedaan secara signifikan antara kedua kelompok tersebut. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran menggunakan model CIRC dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar dan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa dibandingkan dengan metode konvensional. Siswa memberikan  tanggapan positif terhadap pembelajaran model CIRC.

Abstract

The assessment tools must be developed to measure the competencies in 21st century skills, such as critical thinking and problem-solving. Critical thinking is seen as a prerequisite for problem-solving abilities. Therefore, this study aims to produce critical thinking test with problem-solving context on the salt hydrolysis material, also measure students’ mastery of the critical thinkings sub-indicators and problem-solving indicators. The research method used the development and validation. Participants involved in the test were 42 students of class XI who had studied salt hydrolysis at a high school in Bandung. The product from this research is critical thinking skills test instrument in the context of problem-solving as many as 10 multiple choice with an open reason on the salt hydrolysis material. Based on results of test quality, the developed test has good and decent criteria. The instruments declared valid based on the content validity at the CVR value and the empirical validity on Pearson's product-moment correlation coefficient, and reliable with Cronbach Alpha value of 0.823. Criteria for empirical validity and reliability test as a whole are included in high and very high. The results analysis quality of the items as a whole have medium difficulty level, very good distinguishing power, and good distractor effectiveness. The results of level student mastery in the critical thinkings sub-indicators and problem-solving indicators that are most mastered are to express problems and mention facts related to the problems. Meanwhile, the least mastered are drawing conclusions according to facts and checking the feasibility of the solutions made.
