Abstract

Nervous system material has a broad scope and is abstract, causing students to have difficulty understanding. One effort that can be made to improve student learning outcomes is to develop learning modules. This research is development research according to Borg and Gall to create a scrapbook module on the nervous system material. The products developed are focused on improving student learning outcomes with data collection procedures including appropriateness tests by material experts and media experts, practicality tests by teachers, and readability tests by students using assessment questionnaires. Items tested include the presentation of the material, conformity with student character, instructions for use, module quality, concept correctness, and student responses. The product validation data obtained is converted to obtain the eligibility category according to Widiyoko. The results of the due diligence by material experts obtained X = 3.8 in the good category, and the due diligence by media experts obtained X = 4.2 in the very good category. While the results of the practicality assessment by the biology teacher obtained X = 4.4 with a very good category and the assessment by students obtained X = 4.3 with a very good category. Based on the results of the feasibility and practicality assessments that were analyzed the scrapbook module was feasible and ready to be used in learning biology specifically on the nervous system material because it met the development requirements

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pemahaman konsep siswa SMAN 2 Banda Aceh pada materi titrasi asam basa setelah penggunaan media pembelajaran interaktif berbasis Microsoft Excel. Penelitian dilakukan di SMAN 2 Banda Aceh dengan sampel penelitian terdiri atas dua kelas XI IPA. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan desain pretest-posttest control group design. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan metode tes dan angket. Sebelum digunakan, instrumen dan media divalidasi oleh pakar. Pengolahan data menggunakan rumus persentase dan uji statistik non parametrik, yaitu uji beda rata-rata (uji Mann Whitney) dengan software SPSS 17. Hasil penelitian diperoleh media yang valid dan layak dengan persentase 79,41% dari ahli media dan 77,30% dari ahli materi. Nilai rata-rata pemahaman konsep siswa kelas eksperimen lebih sebesar dari kelas kontrol. Nilai N-gain kelas kontrol 62% kategori sedang. Selain itu, Hasil uji Mann Whitney diperoleh nilai signifikan 0,00 kurang dari α (0,05). Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan signifikan pada pemahaman konsep siswa, antara kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen. Tanggapan siswa terhadap penerapan media sangat positif, yaitu 69,5% setuju. Oleh karena itu, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan media pembelajaran interaktif berbasis Microsoft Excel dapat mempengaruhi pemahaman konsep siswa SMAN 2 Banda Aceh pada materi titrasi asam basa.

Abstract

Conventional learning models that still dominate the science learning process have a negative impact on learning psychology and student learning outcomes, for example the lecture method. In addition, the integration of local knowledge in learning almost done because the teacher thought local knowledge of science content is not relevant to modern science. This study has the prospect to develop an integrated learning tools nested models based on local wisdom phinisi boat. Products developed focuses on improving communication skills and conceptual knowledge of students. Adapting product development methods development framework Dick and Carey to modify it in 5 stages. Stages of needs analysis, product design, product development, product implementation and evaluation, and the final product. The results of product development tested in a limited class of the class VII SMPN 32 Bulukumba the 15 students who have been selected by purposive sampling. The choice of subjects represented each of 5 students with low, medium, and high abilities. Primary data were obtained from the assessment of the product by 2 experts and through the assessment questionnaire. The feasibility of the product in the category "very high". The syllabus has a validity level of 94.00%, RPP 93.75%, LKPD 96.00%, and assessment instruments 95.00%. Response practitioners and learners in the category ratings "high" and "very high" throughout the assessment indicators. In the implementation phase, learning nested models based on local wisdom boat phinisi provide more space for students to express their knowledge and digging skills

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mengembangkan media buletin pada materi pencemaran lingkungan, (2) menguji kelayakan media buletin yang telah dikembangkan, dan (3) mengetahui tanggapan guru terhadap media buletin yang telah dikembangkan. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian dan pengembangan (Research And Development /RD) dengan menggunakan model pengembangan ADDIE. Teknik  pengumpulan data diperoleh dari angket validasi media buletin dan angket kelayakan media buletin oleh guru. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah lembar angket validasi media buletin dan lembar angket kelayakan media buletin oleh guru. Teknik analisis data diperoleh dari lembar angket yang dihitung dengan menggunakan rumus persentase. Hasil penelitian ini diperoleh bahwa persentase rata-rata validasi dari kedua validator ahli materi sebesar 91,07% termasuk dalam kategori sangat layak, dan nilai persentase rata-rata dari ahli media sebesar 75% (kategori layak). Persentase rata-rata kelayakan dari tanggapan guru terhadap media buletin adalah 96,43% termasuk kategori sangat baik. Kesimpulan pada penelitian ini adalah media buletin yang telah dikembangkan layak dan dapat digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran pada materi pencemaran lingkungan

Abstract

Concept maps are a technique that can represent the knowledge possessed by students. Depiction through concept maps can form a structured and systematic understanding of concepts based on the relationships between the written concepts. In a period of online learning like this, an exciting learning strategy is needed. Therefore, using concept maps can be an alternative learning strategy that lecturers can apply in online learning. This study aims to identify various concept map patterns that students often use to improve conceptual understanding of the topic of global warming as well as increase students' conceptual understanding of the draft concept map patterns. This research is a mixed-method type with concurrent embedded with 83 students of Primary Teacher Education semester 2 of the 2019/2020 academic year. The instrument used was the measurement instrument for the concept map pattern and the measurement of the conceptual understanding test based on scientific literacy for students. The results were then analyzed by normalized N-Gain test and qualitative data analysis. The results showed that students' concept map patterns to improve conceptual understanding using the hub/spokes concept map pattern were 87.9%. Meanwhile, the results of the N-Gain analysis showed several 0.53 (in the medium category), which means that understanding of the concept increases with the application of concept map learning. The concept map pattern that appears depicts the results of the visualization of students' conceptual understanding

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan keterampilan generik sains dan penguasaan konsep pada materi arus listrik searah serta memperoleh gambaran respon mahasiswa terhadap penggunaan laboratorium virtual berbasis inkuiri. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode pre-eksperimental design melalui one group pretest-posttest design yang dilaksanakan di Prodi Pendidikan Fisika Fakultas Tarbiyah dan Keguruan UIN Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh. Sampel yang terpilih menggunakan teknik porposive sampling yaitu angkatan 2014 unit 2 yang dijadikan kelas eksperimen. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan pretest dan posttest untuk mengetahui peningkatan keterampilan generik sains dan penguasaan konsep, lembar observasi untuk mengamati aktivitas mahasiswa selama proses pembelajaran, serta angket untuk mengetahui tanggapan mahasiswa terhadap penggunaan laboratorium virtual berbasis inkuiri. Hasil uji normalitas menunjukkan bahwa data N-gain berdistribusi normal. Persentase N-gain keterampilan generik sains tertinggi terjadi pada indikator kesadaran tentang skala sebesar 60% dengan kategori sedang dan terendah terjadi pada indikator pemodelan sebesar 27,81% dengan kategori rendah. Persentase rata-rata penguasaan konsep N-gain tertinggi pada sub konsep kuat arus dan beda potensial listrik sebesar 62,72% dan yang terendah pada sub konsep rangkaian hambatan listrik sebesar 33,33%. Mahasiswa memberikan tanggapan positif terhadap penggunaan laboratorium virtual berbasis inkuiri. Dapat disimpulkan penggunaan laboratorium virtual berbasis inkuiri dapat meningkatkan keterampilan generik sains dan penguasaan konsep.

Abstract

Argumentation skills have an important role in 21st-century learning because it can facilitate constructing the relationship between theory and understanding the concept of science. The development of textbooks based on argumentation skills can bridge science theories and ideas, especially with the Covid-19 pandemic, limiting social contact between communities and students so that they have to work and study from home. Textbooks can be a solution to assist students to learn independently. This study aims to determine the characteristics, practicality, and effectiveness of the developed argument-driven inquiry textbook (ADI). The research was conducted at MTsN 6 Ponorogo using the Research and Development (RD) method. Testing the practicality and effectiveness of textbooks was carried out using a randomized control group pretest-posttest design. The number of research samples consisted of 124 students taken through random sampling techniques divided into experimental and control classes. Data were obtained from questionnaires, and argumentation skills tests were analyzed using quantitative descriptive and qualitative descriptive to determine practicality, and inferential statistics (t-test) to evaluate the effectiveness of the textbooks being developed. The results showed that ADI-based textbooks: 1) have the characteristics of being able to encourage students to argue critically and be able to construct students' logic and creativity in relating environmental problems, scientific concepts, and scientific paradigms through multi-disciplinary integration; 2) has a practicality level of 84%, which means that the contents of the book are very good at motivating students to learn, relevant to the material, and easy to understand from the material and language aspects; 3) effective in improving students' argumentative skills is better than classes that are not based on ADI (α = 0.05) with an increase in the moderate category (N-Gain = 47.17%).

AbstrakPenelitianini bertujuan untukmengetahuipengaruhLKPD berbasis discovery learning terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar siswa pada materi sistem pencernaan makanan di kelas VIII MTsN Rukoh Banda Aceh.Desainpenelitian adalah eksperimensemu (quasyexsperimen) denganrancanganthepretest and posttest nonequivalent control group design. Data dianalisismenggunakan pendekatan kuantitatifdenganujistatistikuji t danN-Gain.Hasilanalisis data diperoleh sebagaiberikut: LKPD berbasis discovery learningmaterisistem pencernaanterjadi peningkatan hasil belajar siswa pada kelas eksperimen dengan N-Gain sebesar 0,36% dengan kategori sedang, sedangkan pada kelas kontrol sebesar 0,07% dengan kategori rendah. Abstract

The low interest in learning chemistry is because there are still some students who have different conceptions, resulting in misconceptions. This study aims to determine the level of students' misconceptions about the buffer solution material in the experimental class and control class and the effectiveness of the conceptual change text (CCT) learning model in preventing students' misconceptions about the buffer solution material at SMAN 1 Seulimeum. The method used in this study is a quasi-experimental designed with a posttest only control group design. The sample selection technique was determined with certain considerations because there were only two classes in class XI IPA, so the two classes were used as samples in this study. So the research sample taken was class XI IPA1 and XI IPA2, totaling 30 and 34 students. The instrument used is in the form of multiple-choice diagnostic test questions. The data analysis technique used four tier. The results showed that the level of students' misconceptions on the buffer solution material in the experimental class and control class before applying the learning treatment obtained an average percentage of 31.18 and 31.33. The effectiveness of the CCT learning model can prevent students' misconceptions about the buffer solution material. The results of data analysis prove that after applying the CCT model students' misconceptions decreased with the misconception score only reaching 2.65. The results of the study can be concluded that the CCT model can prevent misconceptions better than the conventional learning model through the direct instruction model

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis: (1) perbedaan keterampilan berpikir kritis antara kelompok siswa yang belajar melalui implementasi model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) berbasis lingkungan pada materi minyak bumi dengan siswa yang belajar melalui model pembelajaran konvensional (2) perbedaan minat belajar siswa melalui implementasi model (PBL) berbasis lingkungan dengan minat belajar siswa melalui model pembelajaran konvensional. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuasi eksperimen pada siswa kelas X SMAN 15 Adidarma Banda Aceh Tahun Ajaran 2013/2014. Rancangan penelitian yang adalah two group pretest-postest design. Data penelitian ini dianálisis dengan análisis statistik uji t independent test dengan program software SPSS Versi 17. Hasil analisis diperoleh persentase nilai rata-rata tes awal kelas eksperimen sebesar 25,00 dan kelas kontrol sebesar 24,69. Selanjutnya persentase nilai rata-rata tes akhir pada kelas eksperimen sebesar 77,35, sedangkan kelas kontrol sebesar 62,19. Rata-rata N-gain yang dinormalisasi kelas eksperimen termasuk kategori tinggi dengan nilai rata-rata 0,75 sedangkan kelas kontrol termasuk kategori sedang dengan nilai rata-rata 0,50.  Untuk N-gain yang dinormalisasi diperoleh thitung = 6,045 dengan signfikansi p = 0,000, karena signifikansi 0,05, maka dapat dikatakan bahwa peningkatan penguasaan konsep minyak bumi pada siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran dengan model pembelajaran (PBL) berbasis lingkungan lebih baik  dibandingkan dengan penguasaan konsep minyak bumi pada siswa yang mendapatkan model pembelajaran konvensional. Hasil N-gain keterampilan berpikir kritis diperoleh thitung = 3,44 dengan signfikansi p = 0,002, karena signifikansi 0,05, maka dapat dikatakan bahwa peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis pada siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran dengan model pembelajaran (PBL) berbasis lingkungan lebih baik dibandingkan dengan siswa yang mendapatkan model pembelajaran konvensional. Hasil pengisian angket siswa diperoleh bahwa dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran (PBL) berbasis lingkungan pada konsep minyak bumi yang diberikan kepada 22 siswa memberikan tanggapan yang positif dan siswa memiliki minat yang tinggi untuk mengikuti pembelajaran.
