Abstract

One of the causes of the low critical thinking skills of participants is caused by the learning process that focuses on mastering concepts alone without involving students to construct knowledge independently. Less comprehensive learning tools are the main obstacles that are often encountered in the implementation of learning. Project based learning is a constructivist method that is able to involve students to construct knowledge empirically, one of which is by utilizing the content of ethnoscience as a contextual approach in project learning. This study aims to develop a quality ethnoscience-based Project based learning devices in terms of content validity and empirical validity. This study uses the research and development method with the ADDIE model. The research was conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Gandapura. The research instrument used a validation sheet, student response questionnaires and teacher response questionnaires. Data analysis used the Aiken V coefficient for critical thinking skills test questions; Interclass correlation coefficient for lesson plans, Student Worksheets and Handouts; percentage formula for teacher and student response questionnaires. The results showed that the ethnoscience-based Project based learning devices were categorized as very feasible and could improve the critical thinking skills of students with an N-gain of 0.88 which was classified as high, and received a positive response from the teacher with a percentage of 96.71% and students by 86.35%

Abstract

The weak ability of students to understand the material of the plant classification system is due to the large amount of material and scientific names that are not even known by students. The use of media that is still less varied and interesting causes boredom because there are too many writings and few pictures. During learning, students often listen to songs in secret to eliminate boredom. Therefore, media that is suitable to the needs and interests of students is needed, namely the biosong media (biology song). The purpose of this study was to develop biosong media on plant classification system materials. This study uses the ADDIE development model which consists of the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation Evaluation stages. Sampling was done by non-probability sampling using purposive sampling technique. Data collection was carried out through the validation of material experts, media experts, student trials and teacher responses using questionnaires. The results of material expert validation are 78.1% and media experts are 99% with very good categories with the conclusion that the media is feasible and can be tested on students. The results of the small group trial at the implementation stage were 77.6% and the large group was 88.5% with a very good category. The result of the teacher's assessment of biology subjects was 90.6% with a very good category. Thus, it can be concluded that the developed biosong learning media is feasible to be used as a learning medium and can help students learn the plant classification system material

Abstract

The learning activities carried out in grade IV A and IV B elementary school in Bekasi were monotonous and teacher centered. It was marked by students who received only material without interaction with both teacher and peer, lack of courage in expressing opinions, asking questions, and answered questions so that student didn’t engage during learning. The research aims to see whether there is an impact on the active learning strategy, a type, a flip book with the activation of the study of grade IV student science. It employs a quantitative approach with a type of experimental quasi. The design used on this research is a non equivalent control group. Random samples were taken. The samples is students IV A and IV B at SDN Tridayasakti 03 with a total of 56. The instruments used are pretest and posttest of multiple choice, observation, and documentation. The data analysis consisted of normality test (shapiro wilk), homogeneity (fisher), and hypothesis (independent samples t-test) of a degree of  = 0,05. The results of the hypothesis testing are obtained  7,112  1,683 and sig. (2-tailed) of 0,000 0,05 then  is rejected and  is accepted. This it can be concluded that the influence of active learning strategies is a typical, flip book type help against the science activation of the study the IV class of science students

Abstract

Menumbuhkan kepedulian masyarakat terhadap sumber daya alam dapat dilakukan dengan mengembangkan kurikulum dan pembelajaran muatan lokal yang mengintegrasikan konsep lingkungan hidup. Kenyataannya, hampir seluruh sekolah di Aceh Jaya belum mengembangkan kurikulum muatan lokal yang berorientasi terhadap lingkungan. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengembangkan video pengolahan emas yang layak digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran serta untuk mengetahui tingkat pemahaman dan respon siswa terhadap video tersebut. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode research and development (R and D). Kelayakan media dinilai dari segi materi, narasi, penggunaan bahasa, efek suara, visualisasi, penyajian, dan kepraktisan. Penilaian kelayakan video dilakukan oleh 2 orang validator. Respon siswa meliputi minat belajar dengan menggunakan video pembelajaran dan sikap siswa terhadap lingkungan setelah menyaksikan video pembelajaran pengolahan emas. Pengumpulan data respon siswa dilakukan dengan menggunakan angket. Tingkat pemahaman siswa yang diukur adalah tingkat pemahaman terhadap materi pembelajaran dalam video menggunakan instrumen soal uji pemahaman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa video pembelajaran pengolahan emas dinyatakan layak, dengan total validasi 93,84%. Minat belajar siswa menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata 90,53% siswa tertarik terhadap video tersebut, sedangkan sikap siswa terhadap lingkungan menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata 97,12% siswa memberi respon positif atau perduli terhadap kelestarian lingkungan. Hasil perolehan nilai uji pemahaman menunjukkan sangat baik dengan nilai ketuntasan sebanyak 86,28%. Oleh karena itu, disimpulkan bahwa video pengolahan emas layak digunakan dan dapat memudahkan siswa memahami materi ajar serta memberikan respon positif terhadap kepedulian lingkungan.

Abstract

The learning process at SMAN 1 Kluet Utara and SMAN 1 Kluet Selatan, does not appear to have developed critical thinking skills of students, this is because learning does not provide opportunities for students to identify problems and conclude new ideas or a observational act. The process of learning biology in schools does not encourage students to think critically. The research objective was to analyze the improvement of critical thinking skills by using the discovery learning model combined with constructivism-based modulesin on the excretory system concept. The method used was a quasi-experimental, pretest posttest design non-equivalent control group design. The population in this study were 156 students of class 11th MIPA who came from two schools, while the sample was 104 taken by purposive sampling.The instrument used was a reasoned multiple choice question accompanied by a rubric. The data analysis used was n-gain and independent sample t-test. The results showed that the critical thinking skills obtained was 0.78, with an increase in class critical thinking skills including the high category. This shows that there are differences in the critical thinking skills of students between the experimental class and the control class on excretory system concept in class 11thSMAN 1 Kluet Utara and SMAN 1 Kluet Selatan. Thus, the implementation of discovery learning model combined with constructivism-based modulescan improve students' critical thinking skills on excretory system concept.

Abstract

 Tujuan dari kajian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa dengan penerapan PBL melalui school watching pada materi asam basa kelas VII SMP PKPU Aceh Besar. kajian ini menggunakan metode quasi exsperiment dengan randomized pretest-posttest group desain. Data dikumpulkan dengan tes tulis dan observasi. Berdasarkan hasil kajian yang diperoleh dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran dengan menerapkan PBL melalui school watching  dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada kelas eksperimen dari 31 menjadi 77, sedangkan pada kelas kontrol yaitu 29 menjadi 70. Hasil dari observasi aktivitas belajar pada siswa kelas eksperimen dengan pembelajaran PBL melalui school watching yaitu 89% dengan kategori sangat baik, sedangkan aktivitas belajar pada siswa kelas kontrol dengan pembelajaran konvensional yaitu 79% yang dikategorikan baik.

Abstract

Electronic learning resources are needed in accordance with the demands of basic competencies in learning and can be used by teachers and students as a means of independent learning at home or at school. This study aims to develop an electronic module on the material of vibration, waves and sound that is valid and practical. The Rowntree development model used consists of three stages, namely planning, development and evaluation stages. At the evaluation stage, the researcher used the Tessmer evaluation stage, which consisted of the self-evaluation, expert review, one-to-one evaluation, and small group evaluation stages. The research subjects were students of class VIII.2 SMP N 1 Prabumulih. The research instrument used was observation, student needs questionnaire, expert validation questionnaire and student perception questionnaire. The data analysis technique used walkthrough and questionnaire methods. The resulting product is an electronic module of vibration, wave and sound material using the Flip PDF Professional program. The results of the research show: 1) the development of an electronic module based on critical thinking skills has been carried out through a development procedure that includes 3 stages. 2) the acquisition of the research results obtained content validation of 4.50 (strong valid), content validation of critical thinking skills of 4.61 (strong valid), design validation of 4.72 (strong valid), and language validation of 4 .50 (strong valid). So, the total average of the results of the content validation assessment, the content of critical thinking skills, design, and language is 4.60 including the "strong valid" category. 3) To produce a practical electronic module with research results, the average results of the assessment of student responses in the one-to-one evaluation stage is 4.55 with the "Extremely useful" category and the average results of the assessment of student responses in the questionnaire are the small group evaluation stage is 4.60 with the "Extremely useful" category. The electronic module based on critical thinking on vibration, waves and sound material that has been developed is suitable for use as teaching material for class VIII junior high school students.

Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian tentang Penggunaan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD untuk meningkatkan motivasi dan hasil belajar siswa pada materi titrasi asam basa di kelas XI SMA Negeri 6 Lhokseumawe. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui motivasi, hasil belajar dan tanggapan siswa menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD pada pokok bahasan titrasi asam basa. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan metode quasi eksperimen. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas XI SMAN 6 Lhokseumawe, satu kelas sebagai kelas kontrol dan kelas berikutnya sebagai kelas eksperimen. Sebelum dilakukan pengumpulan data terlebih dahulu dilakukan penyiapan bahan penelitian, angket, LKS sesuai dengan materi, kemudian dilakukan kegiatan pembelajaran sesuai dengan RPP yang telah disusun. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tes, dan angket. Soal tes dan angket telah divalidasi isi oleh pakar. Diawal pembelajaran diberikan pretes, kemudian diakhir pertemuan diberikan angket dan postes. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terjadi peningkatan hasil belajar siswa pada kelas eksperimen dengan kelas kontrol secara signifikan diketahui dengan uji t nilai postes, dan nilai N gain kedua kelas. Nilai N gain kedua kelas juga menunjukkan perbedaan, kelas kontrol nilai N gain siswa terletak pada kategori sedang, sedangkan pada kelas eksperimen terletak pada kategori tinggi. Persentase siswa yang memberi tanggapan positif terhadap penggunaan model kooperatif tipe STAD mencapai rata-rata 95%, dan siswa yang memberikan tanggapan negatif rata-rata  sebesar 5%. Penggunaan model tipe STAD juga dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran kimia materi titrasi asam basa menggunakan model kooperatif tipe STAD dapat meningkatkan motivasi dan hasil belajar siswa serta memberikan tanggapan positif.

Abstract

This study aims at producing an assessment instrument of the PISA model to measure students’ problem-solving skills and scientific literacy in junior high schools that are valid, practical, and having potential effects. This research employed the design of development studies. The analysis used the Item Response Theory (IRT) Rasch model based on the junior high school students' responses to the developed PISA assessment instrument on natural science subjects. The result of this study was a test set of PISA model for the material of Vibration, Wave, and Sound consisting of 40 items. The test was valid in terms of content, constructs, and language according to the expert assessment, and practical based on small group trials. It also had a potential effect based on the students’ answers and questionnaires results in the field test. The qualitative analysis showed that the developed test had several potential effects, i.e. the development of students' problem-solving skills and scientific literacy so that they gained a relatively high ability to solve a test with the PISA model. The results of quantitative analysis through field test trials showed that there was a significant effect from the application of the PISA model test to enhance students’ scientific literacy and problem-solving skills in the junior high school with the Sig. value of 0.000 which was less than the significance level of 0.05 (α = 5%).

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh media pembelajaran interaktif pada konsep termokimia terhadap peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa di kelas XI-IPA MAN Banda Aceh 1.Desain penelitian eksperimen semu (quasy exsperimen) dengan rancangan the pretest and posttest nonequivalent control group design. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis melalui pendekatan kuantitatif dengan uji statistik uji t dan N-Gain. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, didapatkan sebagai berikut: pemanfaatan media pembelajaran interaktif pada materi termokimia terjadi peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa. Peningkatan tertinggi terjadi pada memfokuskan pertanyaan indikator dengan N-Gain sebesar 74,583% dan terdapat perbedaan keterampilan berpikir kritis antara kelas eksperimen dengan kelas kontrol dengan nilai rata-rata hasil belajar kelas eksperimen sebesar 76,75, dan kelas kontrol sebesar 70,5. dengan hasil analisis uji t sebesar thitung 2,107 ttabel 2,093, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemanfaatan media pembelajaran interaktif pada materi termokimia terdapat perbedaan nyata terhadap peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa
