Abstract

Introduction: Menopause causes changes in ovarian function which will automatically affect hormone production, which can cause various complaints. The increase in the number of elderly women will certainly cause its own problems, namely the emergence of complaints during menopause which can affect health. It causes discomfort and sometimes causes disruption in daily work, so it can affect the quality of life of menopausal women. Yoga is an effort to unite physical and physical strength and stimulate increased production of beta endorpine to reduce complaints due to menopause. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of yoga exercise on sleep quality and cognitive function in the elderly. This research is a literature review research. Material and Methods: This research examines topics related to the effect of yoga exercise on sleep quality in the elderly and menopause from previous studies. The literature reviewed and studied was 15 pieces of literature with 6 pieces of literature discussing the effect of yoga exercise on sleep quality in the elderly, especially during menopause. The literature consists of journals with a travel year from 2017 to 2023. Literature collection was done through Google scholar, Pubmed, and Science Direct by PRISMA. Results: The results of this study show that yoga exercises carried out regularly, both in the long and short term, can improve and improve the sleep quality of the elderly, especially menopausal women. Yoga exercise can also maintain the cognitive function of the elderly and prevent the elderly from dementia and Alzheimer's disease. Conclusion : The evidence is insufficient to suggest that yoga is an effective intervention for menopause. Further research is required to investigate whether there are specific benefits of yoga for treating menopausal symptoms.

Abstract

In Southeast Sulawesi, measures have been taken to prevent dengue hemorrhagic fever with vector control efforts using the 3M Plus method, namely draining, covering and burying items that are no longer used so that they do not become breeding places for mosquitoes. The aim of the research is to take measures to prevent dengue hemorrhagic fever by controlling vectors using the 3M Plus method, namely draining, covering and burying items that are no longer used so that they do not become breeding places for mosquitoes. Meanwhile, the plus is avoiding mosquito bites by using anti-mosquito lotion, wearing a mosquito net when sleeping, abatization, fishization and fogging. With these efforts, it is hoped that the death rate due to dengue hemorrhagic fever can be reduced. This research is a survey research with a cross sectional study approach. The variables in this research are the independent variable (draining, covering, burying used goods and abatement) and the dependent variable (presence of mosquito larvae). The result is that the Chi Square statistical test on the variable draining water reservoirs shows a p value = 0.000<0.05, which means that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, so the statistical test shows that there is a relationship between draining water reservoirs and the presence of mosquito larvae. The Chi Square statistical test on the variable closing water reservoirs shows a p value = 0.003<0.05, which means that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, so the statistical test shows that there is a relationship between closing water reservoirs and the presence of mosquito larvae. The Chi Square statistical test on the variable burying used goods shows a p value = 0.000 < 0.05, which means that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, so the statistical test shows that there is a relationship between burying used goods and the presence of mosquito larvae.

Abstract

Problems and complications that arise due to injuries, if they do not receive proper and serious treatment, can result in lifelong disability and this causes lifelong suffering for the client. The aim of the research is to determine the description of nurses' knowledge of emergency management of injured patients at Bhayangkara Hospital, Manado, North Sulawesi. This research design uses a descriptive design, a research design that is structured in such a way that researchers can obtain answers to research questions. Research design refers to the type or kind of research chosen to achieve research objectives, and acts as a tool and guide to achieve these objectives. The research results show that a person's length of work in an organization or agency is not synonymous with high productivity. People with a long period of service do not mean they have a high level of proficiency. The longer someone works, the more skilled and experienced they are in their job.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a degenerative disease that is closely related to diet therapy. Diet Therapy is a description of the types, amount and composition of food a person eats every day. An urban lifestyle with a diet pattern that is excessively high in fat, salt and sugar results in various diseases including diabetes mellitus. The aim of the research is to determine the effect of diet therapy and physical activity on blood sugar levels in diabetes mellitus patients. This research is a quantitative research using an observational approach with a cross sectional design, namely research by studying the correlation between risk factors and the effects they cause by approaching, observing or collecting data at one time. The results of the statistical analysis test show the chi-square test X2 = 4.022 or at a confidence level (α = 0.05) P-value 0.045. So it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between physical activity variables and blood sugar levels in diabetes mellitus patients. The Odd Ratio (OR) value = 3.3 (95% CI 0.090 – 1.002) meaning that less physical activity has a risk of developing Type II DM that is 3.3 times greater than those with less diet therapy.

Abstract

Clerodendrum minahassae Teijsm. and Binn plant is included in the Clerodendrum genus which contains chemicals such as alkaloids, flavonoids, phenols, tannins and steroids which have an important role in the development of medicine, including as antioxidants, anti-inflammatory, anti-diabetic and antibacterial. This study aims to determine the antioxidant activity of leilem leaf fractions using the DPPH method. Leilem leaves were extracted using the maceration method using 70% ethanol, then partitioned using the liquid-liquid extraction method using three different solvents, namely n-hexane, ethyl acetate and water. The fraction of the partition was then tested for antioxidant activity using the DPPH method and its absorbance was measured using a UV-VIS spectrophotometer with a wavelength of 515 nm. The research results showed that the n-hexane fraction had an IC50 value of 185.704 ppm, the ethyl acetate fraction had an IC50 value of 105.357 ppm and the water fraction had an IC50 value of 549.258 ppm with the IC50 value of the quarcetin comparison being 8.86 ppm. It can be concluded that the highest antioxidant activity is found in the ethyl acetate fraction, which is included in the moderate antioxidant category.
