<![CDATA[Teachers’ attitudes, teaching styles, and teaching strategies are needed to motivate students’ enthusiasm and interest in learning English. This study aims to analyze students’ perceptions of teachers’ attitudes, styles, and strategies. This study uses quantitative method with a survey design which used a questionnaire as the research instrument to get data. The study is conducted by using Google Form to get the data from the participants. The population of this study is the students of English Department of Zainul Hasan Islamic University Genggong. The sample used in this study are thirty-six students that are from several high schools around the area of Kraksaan. The collected data of this study is then analyzed by using a statistical formula to get the percentage of each question. The results shows that most of the teachers high schools around the area of Kraksaan have good attitudes and strategies in teaching English.]]>

<![CDATA[The Covid-19 pandemic situation made the government announce the use of e-learning. With this policy, teachers are expected to apply interesting media to be studied. This research aimed to find out whether or not Quizizz Game could improve students’ vocabulary mastery and the supporting and inhibiting factors of the success of Quizizz Game implementation. It was a collaborative Classroom Action Research (CAR). The subject of this research was grade VIII-C of MTs Ibnu Rosyad in the academic year of 2020/2021 which consisted of 20 students. This research was conducted in two cycles which each consists of planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The data were gathered through qualitative and quantitative data. The results of this research showed that there was improvement from cycle 1 to cycle 2. It can be seen from the mean score of pre-test were 53, the mean score of post-test 1 was 69 and the mean score of post-test 2 was 84. The students' attention and motivation also helped use of Quizizz. But, limited school facilities and wifi become the obstruction]]>

<![CDATA[One of the main skill in learning English as second language is writing. Learning writing is necessarily important nowadays, not only for education purposes but also for occupation purposes as well. However, most of the students feel bored in writing; one of the reasons is because the teaching learning process still uses conventional method. Thereby, it seems that writing is difficult and boring because the students score in writing is low. Therefore, the researcher uses Skype as the media in teaching writing as an alternative solution for this problem. The study aim is to find if there is any significant influence of using Skype towards students’ writing skill especially in writing descriptive text. The result of this study showed that there is a significant influence of using Skype towards students’ writing skill.]]>

<![CDATA[This research was carried out when Coronavirus Disease-19 (COVID-19) pandemic occurred in various countries. This virus attacks the respiratory system and spreads very quickly to various parts of the country, one of which is Indonesia. The spread of the virus has forced the government to issue several policies aimed at breaking the ropes of the spread of the virus. One of the policies issued is to conduct online learning. This study answered three research problems, namely how to prepare, process, and results of teaching English speaking skills through online learning. This study used a descriptive qualitative method by conducting interviews. The results of this research indicated that teaching English in speaking skill through online learning is less optimal than face-to-face speaking learning. The teacher used WhatsApp as a media and take advantage of its features as a method of learning. Those media and methods are very effective compared to other methods and media. The teacher conducted learning by recording sound about the explanation of material. The researcher concluded that teaching English in speaking skills through online learning was not optimal. WhatsApp is an effective application used as a medium and method in teaching English in speaking skills through online learning.]]>

<![CDATA[This study aims to determine the identity captured from the politeness strategies used by Jo and Amy March on Little Women movie. To analyze the description of politeness strategies used by Jo and Amy March as the main characters in the film, the researcher used the theory of Leech on maxim politeness. Then, this study is using a qualitative descriptive method. Based on the results that have found from Jo and Amy March’s dialogue, they are dominant using agreement maxim because of a close relationship between their family, and also they have close relation and intensiveness with their sisters.]]>

<![CDATA[This study focused on finding out whether “Constructivism Principle†approach can be used to improve students’ vocabulary mastery in the fifth grade of SDN ZAHA Probolinggo.This research involved twenty fifve students,thereare ten boys ang fifteen girls.The research instruments of this study consisted of obsevation guide in learning process, test, and given questionnaire. This study was a classroom action research. From the first cycle reflection result, some procedures and activities were revised accordingly.Steps include: (1)The students did the activities in groups made by the teacher which was not previously done in cycle 1; (2) different from cycle 1 which used “constructivism principleâ€.In cycle 2 used Constructivism principle and some pictures related of tehnique used.The result from the action in cycle 2 was that the average score of students achieve 80,96.It can be concluded that used “Constructivism principle†tehnique can improve the vocabulary mastery in the fifth grade of SDN ZAHA Probolinggo.]]>

<![CDATA[Abstract This research was conducted to describe the real condition and situation of English subject concerned to students' Economic purposes. The aim of this research is to describe the English teaching and learning process, to know the kind of teaching method and the teaching material applied, to describe the teaching media used in technology era by the lecturer and to know the lecturer's way to assess the students' English improvement. Descriptive qualitative design is used in this study. The researcher used observation scheme, questionnaire and formal interview to complete the data as the instrument. The results of the questionnaire showed from 28 students there were 21 students enjoyed the class but the others are less interesting in this course. From the data, it answered how the impact in teaching and learning process was. The lecturer liked to use cooperative learning for teaching method and the lecturer used management book English version for the main source. Based on the result of interview and observation scheme data, the lecturer almost used technology moreover in this 4.0 era. Moreover, the researcher found the way lecturer assess the students' English skill. The conclusion was English learning concerned to ESP run well due to it proved with the students enjoyed the English teaching and learning. ]]>

<![CDATA[This research is talked about descriptive qualitative, this research was done to know the teaching strategy in teaching English. This research was want to answer the question How is the teaching strategy in teaching reading in MA Maarif , and the objective was to describe the teaching strategy in teaching reading. To describe the answer the researcher used three instruments for taking the data, they are observation and questionnaire. Finding, the teacher applied those strategies. From the first to the third meeting, the teacher applied the different strategies. At the first and second, the teacher applied the discovery learning strategy where the learning materials were searched and found by the students themselves through various activities, and the third meeting the teacher used question answer strategy and discussion strategy.]]>

<![CDATA[Speaking is a daily activity that must be done but sometimes people take it for granted. In university level, as the semester gets higher, the difficulty of learning these skills also increases. Speaking skills lectures have been taught periodically and scheduled, but the circumstances in the classroom show that the students appear to be less participatory in speaking. Based on observations and brief conversation with some students, it can be concluded that students actually like speaking lectures but students are often afraid to point out mistakes in speaking due to lack of confident, willpower, and motivation. While motivation is an important component that cannot be separated in the teaching and learning process, especially in foreign language learning. The researcher use quantitative method. The aim of this research is to find out whether there is a positive and significant correlation between students' motivation towards students' speaking ability. The correlation index between X variable and Y variable is 0.348. It means that it has weak correlation. From the calculation of both variable above and indicated to the table of interpretation of rxy above, itsinterpretation that in both of variables has correlation. <![CDATA[Investigation of online English learning is implemented in Jombang. This study aims to determine the online learning process during the Covid-19 pandemic. Some of the inhibiting factors in the implementation of online learning are the lack of parental support, few students who have smartphones, student laziness and lack of motivation to learn, difficult to control and evaluate student assignments. While the supporting factors obtained by the teacher when carrying out online learning are more online learning materials, time and place efficiency, and learning materials can be stored safely on smartphones. This research was conducted with descriptive methods and data collection techniques by interviewing English teachers. The result of the research is the implementation of online English learning in one of the elementary schools in Jombang, using the WhatsApp application as an online learning medium. Submission of materials and assignments is done through the WhatsApp group media.]]>
