Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat Pinang Masak Abbreviated with JPM Pinang Masak (Journal of Community Service, Pinang Masak) is a scientific multidisciplinary journal published by Faculty of Sciences and Technology, University of Jambi (Fakultas Sains dan Teknologi, Universitas Jambi). It is in the national level that covers a lot of common problems or issues related to community services. The aim of this journal publication is to disseminate the conceptual thoughts or ideas and research applied results that have been achieved in the area of community services. Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat Pinang Masak (Journal of Community Service, Pinang Masak), contains various activities of UNJA community and even from other University community, in handling and managing the various potentials, obstacles, challenges, and problems that exist in society. Implementation of service activities also involves the participation of the community and partners. Service activities are organized into an activity aimed at improving the welfare of society. In the following year of publication, the journal is going to publish biannually (Mei and November). Any interested author could submit the manuscript following the submission guidelines. Please read these guidelines carefully. Authors who want to submit their manuscript to the editorial office of Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat, Pinang Masak (Indonesian Journal of Community Service, Pinang Masak) should obey the writing guidelines. If the manuscript submitted is not appropriate with the guidelines or written in a different format, it will be REJECTED by the editors before further review. The editors will only accept the manuscripts which meet the assigned form

Abstract

Media yang dikembangkan pada penelitian ini adalah aplikasi mobile di Android yang berisi materi latihan ketangguhan mental (Mental Toughness) seperti latihan visualisasi (imagery), latihan relaksasi (relaxation), latihan penetapan tujuan (goal setting), dan latihan positive self-talk. Di sisi lain, media android menampilkan animasi tombol dan backsound sehingga membuat pengguna media ini tertarik. Media Android dikemas dalam satuan kecil dan lengkap, dengan contoh ilustrasi yang jelas, mampu menampilkan atau memvisualisasikan proses latihan ketangguhan mental, mengulang materi, memberikan tes untuk latihan, dan dapat dioperasikan setiap saat. Pemanfaatan media yang tepat merupakan salah satu upaya dalam mengembangkan latihan yang lebih berkualitas dan efektif. Dalam proses pembentukan mental tanding diperlukan media latihan yang dapat digunakan untuk mengembangkan ketangguhan mental Mahasiswa. Hal ini dimaksudkan agar suatu proses latihan dapat terlaksana secara efisien dan efektif. Mahasiswa yang menggunakan media untuk menunjang proses latihan baik di dalam maupun di luar perkuliahan cenderung dapat memahami konten dengan baik dan lebih terketangguhan mental untuk latihan ketika menggunakan aplikasi. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk membantu mitra dalam mengatasi masalah prioritas dengan cara menerapkan aplikasi latihan ketangguhan mental (Mental Toughness) berbasis Android untuk memudahkan dan meningkatkan ketangguhan mental mahasiswa dalam perkuliahan praktek Psikologi Olahraga. Setelah aplikasi digunakan, selanjutnya dilakukan pengukuran tingkat ketangguhan mental mahasiswa sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan aplikasi latihan ketangguhan mental (mental toughness) berbasis android. Hasil dari pengabdian ini menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa sangat antusias dalam mengikuti pelatihan penggunaan aplikasi tersebut, hasil pengukuran juga menunjukkan bahwa aplikasi ini dapat meningkatkan ketangguhan mental bagi mahasiswa.

Abstract

Plastic is a synthetic polymer material that can be shaped and used in various functions, especially in household products, ranging from plates, glasses, spoons, cooking utensils to food storage containers. According to research, the use of plastic that does not meet the requirements can cause serious health problems such as cancer. Plastic waste is also difficult to decompose or degrade and takes up to hundreds of years to be completely decomposed by soil microorganisms. The purpose of this community service is to provide education to housewives about plastic and the dangers of plastic use for health and the environment. This service was carried out on August 30, 2025 in RT 04 RW 01 Mendalo Indah Village, Jambi Luar Kota District, Muaro Jambi Regency, Jambi Province. The implementation of the socialization was carried out in several stages, namely: 1) Preparation Stage including a pretest to determine the initial level of understanding of participants 2) Implementation Stage including the presentation of materials and distributing brochures to participants 3) Mentoring Stage where participants were given various other alternatives to avoid the use of plastic in everyday life and 4) Success Stage The activity was carried out by analyzing the data processing of the number of answers of each participant to each instrument 'Use of Plastic Packaging Products in Everyday Life'. The aspects of assessing the success of the activity consisted of high, medium and low. The instrument for the level of success of the activity was made with the answer 'yes' or 'no. And after the mentoring process, data on respondents' understanding of the socialization activity was obtained with high success indicator results compared to before the socialization. In conclusion, socialization of the dangers of plastic use is a critical step in minimizing problems with health and environmental pollution. By increasing public awareness, it is hoped that there will be changes in behavior and real actions in reducing the use of single-use plastics and those that do not meet SNI standards.

Abstract

This community service activity at TK Negeri 31 Simpang Sungai Duren aimed to strengthen parental involvement in early childhood education through a collaborative mini storybook-making activity. The program was carried out in three stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. During the activity, children drew, colored, and narrated their personal experiences, while parents helped arrange the storyline and wrote simple narratives based on the children's explanations. Throughout the process, children showed high enthusiasm and active engagement in each step. The results indicated that the activity successfully enhanced children's storytelling skills, confidence, creativity, and emotional expression. Parents also demonstrated increased involvement and stronger emotional bonding with their children. Overall, this activity provided a meaningful learning experience and proved that creative literacy activities involving both parents and children can effectively support early childhood development and strengthen the role of families in education.

Abstract

In community life, cultural elements play a crucial role as guidelines for social order. The culture applied in society extends beyond objects to behavior, attitudes, attitudes toward nature, and even the management of nature itself. One of Jambi Province's abundant natural resources is its fish biodiversity. The Batanghari River has a significant impact on both fish diversity and culture. This cultural connection to fish remains deeply embedded in the community to this day. Furthermore, fish folklore is also found, which is beneficial for fish conservation. Ethnoscience is not merely a cultural knowledge; it is also an intangible heritage of Jambi Province. Therefore, ethnoscience and fish biodiversity are interconnected. Ethnoscience and fish biodiversity are now integrated into a single information system, the Jambi Fish Biodiversity Information System (BERIKAN JAMBI) https://ikanjambi.unja.ac.id/. This integrated information system contains information about the fish found in the Batanghari River. The socialization and application workshop given to the Guci Emas awareness group in Muaro Pijoan Village aims to provide knowledge and understanding regarding the Berikan Jambi information system in supporting ethnoscience studies of the community in the area and as a conservation step through the fostered group, so that it can make it easier for the community to obtain information about local folklore regarding certain fish.
