Abstract

The dark market distribution channels for drug trafficking have become a chronic problem and a promising market in Indonesia. This circulation has reached remote villages and hamlets, regardless of individuals' identities or social statuses, making them potential quick recipients of narcotics. The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) states that preventing its distribution is more challenging than dealing with the culprits who use drugs. This research utilizes a systemic investigation method designed to understand the strategies of the dark market distribution channels for drug trafficking in Indonesia, employing a qualitative approach. For the current study, the researcher will commence the investigation in the Sumenep Regency, focusing on the location of the Sumenep Regency Penitentiary (LAPAS). The informants interviewed for the required data include detainees with drug abuse cases, former drug users and traffickers, the narcotics unit of the Sumenep Police Resort (Polres), the BNN of Sumenep Regency, and other informants believed to have knowledge about the dark market distribution channels for drugs in Indonesia. From the conducted research, it can be explained that the distribution of drug marketing does not use existing e-commerce platforms but relies on direct marketing to consumers or patients. Meanwhile, the marketing distribution extends through Surabaya, Bangkalan, Sampang, Pamekasan, and even from Kalimantan and Malaysia. As for the island regions of Banyuwangi and Bali, the distribution is also part of the marketing channels.

Abstract

Economic growth is an indicator of the success of a country's development. On a regional scale, economic growth parameters can be seen from the growth of Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) per capita. DIY Province is one of Indonesia's provinces designated as a National Tourism Strategic Area (KSPN) by the Ministry of Tourism. Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta (DIY) is a tourist destination with high economic productivity. This, of course, must be supported by the availability of adequate infrastructure. Therefore, this research aims to determine the effect of road, electricity, and water infrastructure development on GRDP rates in DIY Province. The data that has been obtained is analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results of this research show that the development of road infrastructure and electricity significantly influences the rate of GRDP in DIY Province. Meanwhile, the development of clean water infrastructure does not significantly affect the rate of GRDP.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has deeply impacted Indonesia, leaving lasting effects on both public health and societal norms. Beyond mere statistics, the transformation touches every aspect of life, altering how Indonesians work, live, and connect with the world. Accelerated digital adoption, increased health consciousness, and a shift in priorities have significantly reshaped the consumer landscape. E-commerce platforms have boomed, serving as virtual marketplaces for various needs. A holistic approach to well-being emerged, with a focus on organic foods, fitness, and mindfulness. Environmental concerns spurred a demand for sustainable products. The allure of material possessions diminished, replaced by a desire for meaningful experiences and personal growth. This intricate tapestry reveals a post-pandemic Indonesia emphasizing technology, health, sustainability, and a redefined pursuit of happiness. Businesses and policymakers must comprehend these shifts to adapt strategies for the evolving consumer, fostering responsible consumption and contributing to a better Indonesia.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the influence of green performance and intellectual capital on tax avoidance, focusing on intellectual capital as a moderating variable. The research sample consists of 264 observations from 45 publicly listed groups of green companies (proper) on the Indonesia Stock Exchange from 2017 to 2022. The data were collected from the website of the Indonesian Stock Exchange (IDX), the Ministry of Environment and Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia, and the websites of the companies. The data were analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM) to test the research hypotheses. The results of the hypothesis test indicate that environmental performance does not affect tax avoidance, but shows a negative relationship. Similarly, intellectual capital does not affect tax avoidance but also has a negative relationship. In addition, intellectual capital shows no moderating but negative directional sign between green performance and tax avoidance. The moderating function of intellectual capital reduces the tendency of tax avoidance in firms with high green performance. The results of this study suggest that intellectual capital strengthens environmentally and socially responsible behavior. Firms with lower intellectual capabilities tend to engage in tax avoidance practices. This research contributes to the literature on the drivers of corporate tax avoidance and sustainable practices, which can provide insights into how intellectual capital drives responsible tax compliance behavior in green companies. The results of this study have implications for corporate tax policy and motivate ethical behavior within the firm.
