Abstract

Background: Toilet training is an exercise to control the urination and defecation of children and to develop their directedness. Self-directedness refers to an individual attitude to act freely with personal motivation without other individual assistance. Objective: This research determined the influence of toilet training education toward the self-directedness to carry out toilet training for children aged between 5 and 6 years at Kindergarten of Mutiara Hati Foundation, Manyaran village, Western Semarang. Research design: this pre-experimental research applied one group pretest-posttest design and quantitative description. The sample consisted of 30 respondents taken with total sampling. Research results: most respondents were males, 53%; the age of learning toilet training was mostly pre-school aged, 66.7%; the pretest-posttest result of the self-directedness was 100%. The Wilcoxon test obtained a p-value of 1.000 higher than 0.05, indicating no significant influence of toilet training toward self-directedness to promote toilet training for children aged between 5 and 6 years old. Conclusion: self-directedness of children between 5 and 6 years old to practice toilet training. Toilet training is not affected by education at that age. Suggestions: The researcher suggests researchers take respondents aged between 2 and 4 years old without self-directedness of practicing toilet training.

Abstract

Labor and birth are physiological events, during the birth process the baby, placenta and membranes are expelled from the uterus through the birth canal. Women who are facing labor definitely want their labor to go smoothly and give birth to a perfect baby. However, it is not uncommon for the birthing process to experience obstacles and a surgical procedure, namely Sectio Caesarea, must be carried out, either due to considerations of saving the mother and fetus or the patient's personal wishes (Ramadhanti et al, 2022).

Abstract

Pulmonary tuberculosis is a direct infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Most TB germs attack the lungs, but can also affect other body organs. Tuberculosis is spread by germs, so tuberculosis can be transmitted from one person to another when a sufferer coughs. To overcome this, WHO recommends a DOTS strategy, one of which is treatment. Tuberculosis treatment is given in packages in the form of Fixed Dose Combination Anti-Tuberculosis Drugs (OAT-KDT). It is feared that long-term TB treatment will cause side effects on the liver because OAT is hepatotoxic. This study aims to analyze albumin and bilirubin levels at the beginning of treatment and at the end of treatment. This research is called observational research because the researcher only observes the research subjects and looks for data related to the research without treating the research subjects. This type of research is a combination of documentation and observational studies with a cross-sectional study design (Cross Sectional Study), which can assess changes in liver function, in this case albumin and total bilirubin, from pulmonary TB sufferers at the beginning of treatment and at the end of treatment undergoing TB treatment. The sample in this study was 13 patients. The research results showed that the results of examinations for patients at the start of treatment: there were 10 respondents (76.9%) who had albumin levels that were included in the normal category, while the remaining 3 had low albumin levels. Examination results for patients at the start of treatment: there were 11 respondents (84.6%) who had bilirubin levels which were included in the normal category while the remaining 2 had high bilirubin levels. Examination results for patients at the end of treatment: there were 7 respondents (70%) whose albumin levels were included in the normal category while the remaining 3 had high albumin levels. Examination results for patients at the end of treatment: there were 8 respondents (80%) who had bilirubin levels which were included in the normal category while the remaining 2 had low bilirubin levels. The results of the difference test show that there is a difference in albumin at the beginning of treatment and at the end of treatment with a p value of 0.010 < 0.05. Meanwhile, the opposite result was obtained, namely that there was no difference in patient bilirubin levels at the beginning of treatment and at the end of treatment with p values of 0.312, 0.286 and 0.352 > 0.05, respectively.

Abstract

Pneumonia is a deadly disease in the world. Pneumonia in toddlers in Indonesia is still a major health problem. This can be seen from the high mortality rate in toddlers or pneumonia mortality in toddlers. One effort to reduce pneumonia cases is by knowing the risk factors that cause pneumonia. This study aims to determine the risk factors associated with the incidence of pneumonia in children under five in the Meral Community Health Center Working Area in 2023. This study used a quantitative cross sectional design. The number of samples in this research was 100 respondents, and was obtained using the accidental sampling method. Data was collected by filling out questionnaires and supported by medical record data or the respondent's MTBS form to see the diagnosis, and the KIA book to confirm the history of the toddler's characteristics. The results of this study showed that 57 respondents (57%) experienced pneumonia. The conclusion of this study is that there is a relationship between residential density and the smoking status of family members on pneumonia, but there is no relationship between the nutritional status of toddlers and pneumonia. Suggestions for Meral Community Health Center nurses to provide education to parents of toddlers regarding efforts to prevent pneumonia, especially in terms of reducing smoking habits in the house and adjusting the number of residents to the size of the house where they live.

Abstract

Hyperbilirubinemia is one of the most frequent clinical phenomena in newborns and the most common cause of hospitalization in newborns. In Indonesia, the incidence of hyperbilirubinemia in newborns is 25-50% in neonates. The incidence of hyperbilirubinemia in the Tanjungpinang City Regional Hospital from January 1 2022 to April 30 2023 was 35.6%. This study aims to determine the factors associated with the incidence of hyperbilirubinemia in infants in the Perinatology room at Tanjungpinang City Regional Hospital. The type of research used is a quantitative analytical method using a cross-sectional research design with a retrospective approach. The population of this study was all 202 babies treated in the Perinatology room and the total sample was 72 medical records of babies who had hyperbilirubinemia. The data collection method uses a data checklist sheet from medical records, then the data is analyzed univariately and bivariately with the Chi-square statistical test. This research hopes that nursing services, especially in the perinatology room, will further improve the quality of service, especially in providing comprehensive nursing care for hyperbilirubinemia babies.

Abstract

Neonates are a transition period from intrauterine to extrauterine life that live with limitations according to the gradual maturity of body organ function. During this period, neonates can be at high risk of experiencing health problems, one of which is low birth weight (LBW). Phenomenon in the Perinatology Room at Tanjungpinang City Regional Hospital, by observing 3 mothers who had babies with low birth weight using the kangaroo method, it was found that 1 person experienced weight gain after kangaroo treatment for 5 days. Meanwhile, 2 other people did not experience an increase. This is due to the mother's or family's lack of knowledge regarding kangaroo method care (PMK). In 2021, neonatal deaths in the Riau Islands Province were still dominated by LBW causes at 42% (102 cases) and data from the perinatology room at the Tanjungpinang City Regional Hospital in 2022 and January-March 2023 saw 46 babies born with LBW. Pre-experimental research method. The research design uses a one group pre test-posttest design approach without control group. The sample numbered 30. It was concluded that there was an influence of the kangaroo method of care on increasing body weight in LBW babies. Suggestions for hospitals for this therapy can be considered as the first treatment for LBW newborns to increase the baby's weight.

Abstract

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is an advanced medical device in the medical field that combines computer technology, high magnetic fields (0.064-7.0 Tesla), and radio waves to create cross-sectional images of the human body. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) examination has advantages over other diagnostic methods, because it does not use ionizing radiation, is non-invasive, produces high resolution in soft tissues, and allows different slice marks in all planes (axial, sagittal, coronal, even oblique), so that the image results are more detailed and clear. Sensitivity Encoding is a parallel imaging technique that uses images generated from a phased array coil. SENSE reconstruction can speed up the filling of the K Space thereby reducing scan time. In MRI brain imaging, a clear contrast between organs and minimal noise is required, so a good CNR (Contrast to Noise) is needed. CNR is derived from SNR. CNR is the difference in value between two SNRs that are close to each other. The type used is quantitative research with an experimental approach. The samples of this study were 10 MRI brain patients who underwent examinations in June-July 2023 at the Radiology Installation of Prof. Dr. I. G. Ngoerah Denpasar Hospital. G. N. G. Ngoerah Denpasar The results of this study show a sig value of 0.000 <0.05, it can be concluded that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. This means that there is a significant difference in Contrast to Noise Ratio (CNR) on MRI examination of Brain T1 TSE Axial sequences using variations in Sensitivity Encoding values. Sensitivity Encoding value 2 is able to produce a more optimal CNR compared to the Sensitivity Encoding value, seen from the meank rank value at Sensitivity Encoding value 2 which is 55.2325 while at Sensitivity Encoding 3 is 42.8033. There is a difference in Contrast to Noise Ratio (CNR) on MRI Brain examination of T1 TSE Axial sequences by using variations in Sensitivity Encoding values 2 and 3. The Sensitivity Encoding value that can provide the most optimal Contrast to Noise Ratio (CNR) on MRI Brain examination of T1 TSE Axial sequences is Sensitivity Encoding value 2.
