Abstract

Obesity is the condition that can adversely affect health especially on the cardiovascular system. The lack of activity as a result of advances in technology and service system today causes an increase obesity occurs in people more than 18 years old. Based on fat distributed, obesity divided into central obesity and peripheral obesity. Central obesity is more at risk of an inflammatory process that is the basis of atherosclerosis. The high production of cytokines TNF? and IL-6 cytokines can affect the process of megakaryocytopoiesis and platelet activation so that can increase in the number of platelets. In previous study, it was found a correlation between the platelet count and obesity in Korean adolescents. In Indonesia, there was no data. Medical students of Universitas Tarumanagara are also at risk of obesity, the large number of task and materials that need to be studied, makes the students less physical activity. This study was cross-sectional descriptive method to decide an increase in platelets counts in obese students as a sign of an inflammatory process.  There was 54 respondents with obesity that obtained by non-random consecutive sampling. Results: base on nutritional status, most respondents (66,7%) were obese II with female higher that man, contrast with obesity I group (male, 55%.) Base on platelet count, all respondents have normal platelet count but the average of platelet count higher in obesity II group.

Abstract

Exclusive breastfeeding rate in Indonesia for many years has been very low and there is an increased formula feeding practice. Formula feeding is influenced by many factors including, mother factors, baby factors and environment factors. This study aims to determine what factors are affecting formula milk feeding in infants aged 6 months at Posyandu Bougenville Jakarta Barat using a non random consecutive sampling method. This research is a descriptive study with a cross sectional design, gathering data from 146 respondents conducted specifically on mothers whose baby is 6 months old, use infant formula, and don’t give exclusive breastfeeding. Data collecting is done by answering questions on the questionnaire by online through a google form. The results obtained from 96 respondents who use infant formula show factors that affecting formula milk feeding are infant formula promotion (95%), baby’s health (49%), working mother (36%), lack of education of breastfeeding (6%) and mother’s health (2%). The act of formula feeding is multifactorial, this study recommend that every individual or organization involved should act and give support to exclusive breastfeeding and give a strict supervision and restriction regarding the use and promotion of formula milk especially for infants.

Abstract

Introduction Hypertension is a silent killer and causes various complications and even death. According to World Health Organization (WHO), hypertension causes 9.4 million deaths per year worldwide. Hypertension is more common in countries with low to middle economic status than in high-income countries. Based on the results of the Riskesdas 2018, there was an increase in the prevalence of hypertension in people aged ?18 years, from 23.8% to 34.1%. DKI Jakarta Province is one of the provinces with a high prevalence of hypertension (34%). University security officers are a group of workers who are at risk of hypertension. This may be due to the work style of the University security officers who are mostly standing and sitting. Studies of security personnel are still rare. Methodology This study is an analytical study with a cross-sectional design to see the correlation of demographic, nutritional and anthropometric factors on hypertension. Results In this study, a total of 90 male  subjects were recruited, with an average age of 30.09 years, 84.4% were educated to high school level, 80% smoked, 88.9% consumed coffee, 92,2% exercised regularly. In this study, it was found that the subject's average body weight was 70.56 kg, the average body mass index of the subject was 24.79 kg/m2, 32.2% of the subjects had an waist circumference of more than 90 cm and the average hip circumference was 97.24 cm. In this study, it was found that 48.9% had high blood pressure, where 8.9% of subjects had systolic blood pressure of 140 mmHg and 47.8% of subjects had diastolic blood pressure of ³90 mmHg. There was a positive and significant correlation between age, body weight, BMI, waist circumference and hip circumference with hypertension (p<0.05). Conclusion Increasing age, weight, body mass index, abdominal circumference and pelvic circumference were correlated with hypertension in security officers

Abstract

Metabolic syndrome is a group of metabolic conditions associated with central obesity, increased blood pressure, decreased glucose tolerance, insulin resistance, increased triglycerides and LDL cholesterol. In 2017, WHO stated that cardiovascular diseases (stroke, coronary heart disease), which are a manifestation of metabolic syndrome, are the number one death rate in the world. Indonesia itself has experienced an increase in the prevalence of metabolic syndrome, especially in children and adolescents, which is caused by a bad lifestyle. This study aims to identify cardiometabolic risk factors in students of the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Tarumanagara  class of 2017. This research is descriptive with a cross-sectional design. Data were taken by interview, questionnaire, and anthropometric measurements. Data were analyzed by descriptive test. The results showed that the majority of the nutritional status of the students of the Faculty of Medicine at Tarumanagara University class of 2017 were obesity (45.2%), smoking (2.7%), not exercising (41.1%), average sleep time of 5.8 hours per day, The average screen time is seven hours per day, and 58.9% have a habit of consuming junk food once per week. Further research is needed with a more heterogeneous sample and examination of the biochemical profile to see other metabolic risk factors.

Abstract

out a person's work capacity, we must determine the maximum oxygen (O2) consumption or VO2 max. Physical fitness is the ability and physical endurance of a person in carrying out various daily activities, without experiencing fatigue. Research related to the level of physical fitness is a preliminary study because this study aims to determine the level of physical fitness of students of the Tarumanagara University Faculty of Medicine using a six minute walk test. This research can be developed and can predict the level of physical fitness in young adults. The research conducted was an experimental analytical research. The research subjects were active medical students aged 18-22 years, willing to sign an informed consent and were physically and mentally healthy. The study was conducted on 44 subjects and subject was taking by judgmental sampling. Subject data consisted of age, gender, measurement results of body weight, height, blood pressure, pulse and VO2 Max before and after doing the six minute walk test and the distance after doing the six minute walk test. The level of physical fitness with a six minute walk test among students of the Faculty of Medicine at Tarumanagara University varied the results, most of them showed poor results and women were more dominant with poor fitness levels. The decrease in VO2 max before and after doing the six minute walk test and this result is in accordance with the results of the poor physical fitness level of the Tarumanagara University medical faculty students.

Abstract

Background: Giving anticoagulants to Covid-19 patients is included in one of the standard protocols for Covid-19 therapy. The focus on anticoagulation to prevent thrombotic events often creates a “double-edged sword” with the risk of bleeding, which is also potentially fatal. We present a rare but fatal case of iliopsoas hemorrhage.Case: A Covid-19 patient, 70 years old male, received anticoagulant therapy with unfractionated heparin instead of enoxaparine (LMWH) due to high D-dimer. As the D-dimer value improves, massive and continuous left iliopsoas hemorrhage appears which causes hemodynamic disturbances. Fluid resuscitation, vasopressors, and transfusions were administered following a CT scan of the abdomen. Follow-up CT angiography could not locate the source of the bleeding. Surgery or percutaneous intervention cannot be performed. The patient eventually died. Conclusion: The incidence of bleeding on anticoagulant therapy is low, especially iliopsoas bleeding. Given the massive anticoagulant therapy in almost all Covid-19 patients, as well as the pathogenesis of Covid-19 that interferes with vascular conditions and the coagulation system, the incidence of bleeding risk may increase. This needs to be a concern and anticipation of comprehensive management.

life. Various countries have used natural materials in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic, such as China and Thailand. Indonesia has great potential in the development of natural ingredients considering that the nation's cultural heritage has been passed down from generation to generation in the form of herbal medicine which has also been equipped with various in vitro and in vivo studies as well as molecular docking, proving opportunities for developing natural materials as one of the modalities that can be utilized to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic. Some of them are turmeric/ginger, ginger, guava, meniran, sambiloto which have also been recommended in the guidelines for the use of herbs in dealing with COVID-19 in Indonesia.

Abstract

Background: The principal goal for infants especially preterm is the provision of the mother’s own milk (MOM), but on the other hand it is difficult to get MOM for preterm babies due to delayed of lactogenesis II and mother’s stress. Milk production and adequacy, for mothers of both healthy breastfeeding term infants and non-nursing preterm infants, have been shown to have a significant relationship with milk production 4-6 days after birth. This research aim to describe the comparison of milk production between mothers of premature and mature babies during the first week in NICU SHKJ. Methods: This is an observational descriptive with comparative study of mother’s milk production of preterm (<37 weeks) and term (>37 weeks) babies during the first week of life in NICU Siloam Hospitals Kebon Jeruk from 1st January until 31st December 2018. We documented the milk production from mothers breastmilk expression every 3-4 hours since 4-6 hours after delivery until day 7. Results: From 181 babies during 2018, we got 31 preterm and 77 term babies that we could documented from birth until day 7. The average breastmilk production of the preterm vs term mothers in each expression from day 1-7 were 0,81 vs 1,61 ml; 3 vs 3,65 ml; 6,66 vs 6,94 ml;21,5 vs 26,6 ml; 34,1 vs 46,4 ml; 45,92 vs 46 ml; 48,88 vs 50,4 ml/x expression. Conclusions: Expressing milk for a preterm or unwell baby requires commitment by the mother and effective support from staff. Commence breast milk expression as soon as possible after birth, at least within the first six hours, followed by frequent, regular and effective breast milk expression to stimulate adequate breast milk production may provide MOM for babies even for preterm babies in NICU with almost similar amount.
