Abstract

Oral tradition According to Hoed (2008: 184) is a variety of knowledge and customs that have been passed down from generation to generation orally. Hoed's affirmation has a close relationship with the definition of oral tradition conveyed by Albert Lord, both of which focus on the hereditary process of using orality as the medium. Lord defines oral tradition as something that is spoken in society. The speaker does not write down what he says but speaks it, and the recipient does not read it, but hears (1995: 1). One of the forms of the oral tradition is the traditional games of majaran-jaranan and makering endut in Banyuning Singaraja Village. It contains four meanings as a medium for character formation including a) meaning related to religious elements; b) meaning related to human beings; c) meaning related to the service of the State / love for the country; d) meaning related to human personality. This study is qualitative approach with ethnographic methods was used to express and understand the learning of the values contained in the traditional games of majaran-jaranan and makering endut.Keyword: Traditional game, Character Education, Oral Traditon

Abstract

Among the Balinese, Old Javanese literary works, especially kakawin which is very well known, are still alive and growing. The literary works of kakawin by the Balinese are read, studied and lived out in traditional gatherings which are commonly called mabebasan. Moving on from that reason, it would be very interesting to research Old Javanese literature, one of which is Kakawin Niti Sastra. Research on this kakawin needs to be done because this Kakawin Niti Sastra contains ethical and leadership values which are very important as guidelines in social life. However, on this occasion, it will be focused on the literary work through a study of text structure, as an initial effort in documenting the study of Old Javanese Literature, especially Kakawin Niti Sastra. The results showed that the Kakawin Niti Sastra text structure consisted of a formal structure and a narrative structure. The formal structure consists of: 1) guru-laghu, namely the lightness or length of the syllable sung on a kakawin, 2) the 120 stanza/pada, which is a collection of lines (carik) bound by a single unit of meaning and tone, 3) Language manuscripts, namely Old Javanese and Indonesian, 4) Colophon, namely the writer's notes, generally in manuscripts or publications, containing information about the place, time and the copy of the manuscript. The Niti Sastra manuscript in Indonesian is published by Balai Prestaka. Only then was written by the PGAHN Team 6 Years Singaraja on December 12th, 1971 and officially published in 1983-1984, 5) Alamkara, namely ornaments, decorations, stylistic ornaments, artistic language, convoluted language or too contrived, something stunning or enchanting, fantastic form. The narrative structure in Kakawin Niti Sastra consists of: 1) Manggala, which is the initial or opening part of the writing of Kakawin Niti Sastra's literary works, whose contents are in the form of tribute to Bhatara Hari and Bhatara Surya. 2) The corpus is the content of the entire Kakawin Niti Sastra script, namely the teachings of ethics and leadership, 3) The epilogue is the closing verses in Kakawin Niti Sastra which ends with "Iti Niti Sastra" and "Niti Sara Samapta" which means "thus Niti Sastra is finished ".Keywords: Structure, Kakawin Niti Sastra

Abstract

Siwa Nataraja as the core of character education is applied directly or indirectly, by giving an important role in building character values. Siwa Nataraja as a sacred figure as the core of character education also serves to instill a spiritual sense of religion, especially Hinduism. The continuity of the learning process with the quantity of material provided and the professionalism of the educators in conveying the meaning and content of the artistic values contained in the narrative of Siwa Nataraja. Siwa Nataraja is an effort to find truth, purity, harmony, through art (satyam, siwam, sundaram). Abstract

ABSTRACTTourism is an important sector in Bali's development. The main capital used to attract tourists is the traditions and culture of the Balinese people which are based on Hinduism. Actualization of the application of Tri Hita Karana in the implementation of cultural tourism aims to direct the balance between tourism development and maintaining the ancestral tradition as found in the Samsara Living Museum. The purpose of this study was to determine the existing conditions and the application of Tri Hita Karana in the management of the Samsara Living Museum. This research technique used qualitative methods. The research was conducted by observation, interviews, and literature study. Data analysis technique was using descriptive qualitative. The results of this research showed ithat the Samsara Living Museum fulfills the main components of tourism products and has implemented Tri Hita Karana in its management.Keywords: cultural tourism, Tri Hita Karana, Karangasem, Bali

Abstract

Gamelan Gambang is one of a traditional Balinese musics or gamelan karawitan which still exists and is generally used at Ngaben ceremony. In Jinengdalem village, this gamelan also has function to accompany Piodalan ceremony and death ceremony which is called Mabeya. The purpose of this research is finding, expressing and presenting the terms of Gamelan Gambang in dictionary form. Researcher was guided by morphological and lexicological theories to determine the structure and meaning of the terms of Gamelan Gambang, as well as the field of syntax in determining the categories, functions and roles of the term Gamelan Gambang in the sentence. This was a qualitative research. The results of this study are (1) The form of the term Gamelan Gambang can be known in 27 terms which get undergoing process of composition, 19 terms of Gamelan Gambang undergoing affixation process, 6 terms undergoing zero derivation process, and 2 terms of Gamelan Gambang undergoing reduplication process, (2) from the syntactic study, it can be seen thatĀ  there are totaling 46 lexicon of the term of Gamelan GambangĀ  as nomina (noun) category, for verb totaling 5 lexicon, and adverb totaling 7 lexicon. For the role of the term in Gamelan Gambang if it is applied to a sentence can be seen tha there are 9 lexicon acts as active word and 42 lexicon acts as passive word. The term of Gamelan Gambang which functions as subject is 3 lexicon, as predicate is 5 lexicon, as object is 41 lexicon, and as information is 7 lexicon, (3) from the Semantic study, the results of the lexical meaning of the Gamelan Gambang term has 4 lexicon synonym relations, a hyponym meaning 4 lexicon and a polysemic meaning 5 lexicon. In this Gamelan Gambang dictionary term, it is identified main entries in the form of basic words totaling 40 lexicon accompanied by invented words totaling 13 lexicon and phrases, clauses or examples in the form of sentences.Keywords: Gamelan Gambang, morphology, syntax, lexical meaning, structural meaning and dictionary.

Abstract

Education is now a basic need, which is expected to increase a person's life. However, starting in 2020 the world of education experienced a very significant turmoil, this was due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Where initially education was carried out face-to-face/directly, education was carried out in an "Online" network. This has become a separate problem in the world of education, especially when providing character education. The transfer of knowledge is indeed easy to carry out during online learning, but for character education itself, it has its own obstacles. Many efforts have been carried out by educators, one of which is by providing character education through stories or in Bali known as satua, one of which is satua entitled I Karuna which requires the value of character education. The method used in this paper is the hermeneutic method. Where hermeneutics is the study of understanding, especially about understanding in the form of text. The character education values contained in Satua I Karuna are 1) Religious Values, 2) Nationalist Values, 3) Integrity Values, 4) Independent Values, and 5) Mutual Cooperation Values.Keywords: internalization, character education, Satua I Karuna

Abstract

Kebudayaan Bali mewarisi khazanah sastra yang tidak terbilang jumlahnya dan menyimpan segudang nilai yang sangat penting untuk digunakan sebagai pedoman hidup. Tidak hanya itu, kesusastraan Bali juga dikayakan oleh kehadiran sastra Jawa Kuno yang juga menjadi penguat dan mampu memberikan spirit yang tinggi terhadap kemuliaan peradaban masyarakat Bali. Maka, masyarakat Bali patut menyadari hal tersebut dengan mempelajari, mendalami, mengembangkan, dan menularkan nilai-nilai kesusastraan tersebut sesuai dengan daya olah pikirnya sehingga tidak seperti sekarang ini yang mana perihal sastra tidak diminati dengan alasan menakuti. Pentingnya mempertahankan dan mengembangkan nilai sastra Bali dan Jawa Kuno bukan semata sebagai bentuk pragmatisme tetapi menjadi pijakan bagaimana menemukan arah kehidupan yang baik, damai, dan stabil. Salah satu usulan yang bisa jadi menarik untuk ditawarkan adalah media industri kreatif. Mengenalkan sastra yang bermuatan besar kepada masyarakat perlu dikemas dengan sesuatu yang ringan dan familiar. Produk kreatif yang dekat dengan kehidupan sehari-hari dapat digunakan sebagai media memasyarakatkan nilai sastra.Kata kunci: Industri Kreatif, Sastra Bali, Sastra Jawa Kuno, Pemertahanan

Abstract

A cultural inheritance must have certain goals and purposes related to its existence. Same with Bali island which is very rich in traditional and cultural heritage. One of the cultural traditions of Balinese people is the culture of lontar writing. Lontar is a note written on palm leaf which is the origin of its naming (rontal). Lontar contains various notes about Balinese culture, in the lontar all forms of information and knowledge that are set forth as notes to be learned and applied in the future by the next generation of Balinese people. From various types of lontar in Bali, the usadalontar is a note included in the traditional health science clump, which consists of various types including usada tumbal, usada punggung tiwas, usada tiwang, usada edan, usada buduh, usada tetenger, usada upas, usada sasah bebai, usada taru pramana and so on. From various types of usadalontars certainly have their techniques and methods controlled in an effort to cure the patient. Lontarusada taru pramana is one of the cultural heritage of Balinese people. As a medical script, of course in the life of the ancestors of the Balinese people, this script was very important in healing people who were sick. lontar taru pramana is a type of medical science that relies on herbal methods which contain notes on various types of herbal medicinal plants and their functions in medicine. Beside of environmentally friendly and at the same time maintaining the balance of the ecosystem of traditional medicinal plants, of course there will not be many side effects for human health in the future. Therefore, it is very necessary to reintroduce traditional medicine to the community, especially to the Balinese people today, who seem to have almost forgotten their ancestral cultural heritage.The lontar taru pramana manuscript consists of the building blocks of the structure itself. The elements that make up the structure in lontar taru premana are characters or characterizations, incidents, plot, themes, and messages. The main character in the lontar taru premana script is Mpu Kuturan because this character is very instrumental in building the story, and always appears in every conversation. The auxiliary or secondary characters in the story contained in the lontar taru pramana text are all plants that are invited to have a dialogue with Mpu Kuturan. The incident in the lontar taru premana manuscript was when Mpu Kuturan lost his ability to care for the sick. The plot that appears in the lontar taru premana script is an interruptedly, where the story in the script develops not only in the main character, namely Empu Kuturan but there are tree figures who help the storyline. The theme in the lontar taru premana script is taru premana, which is the title of the script. Because what is discussed in the lontar premana is about various types of plants in the treatment of an appropriate disease in social life in society. The mandate contained in the lontar taru premana manuscript consists of an implicit and explicit mandate. Implicitly, the message conveyed in the lontar taru premana is that all problems must have a solution. While in explicitly shown by plants which introduce themselves and their functions in medicine.The functions of the taru pramana text among others are for treatment, preserving the environment, welfare for the community, and for religion. The function of medicine is very clear from the contents of the taru pramana text which describes the use of each plant as a medicinal plant. The function of manuscripts in environmental reports can be seen from the impact of the knowledge of traditional medicinal plants. The function in community welfare can be seen from the market for herbal medicines which is able to compete with conventional medicines. In connection with religious functions, it can be seen from the contents of the text of the lontar taru pramana which in the treatment procedure contains prayers or worship to certain gods which are regulated by Balinese Hindus.Reviewed from of the pedagogical aspect, lontar taru premana greatly contributed the effort to introduce traditional medicinal plants to the next generation of Bali. So that for Balinese people, lontar taru premana has a pedagogical meaning in the education of Balinese children in an effort to recognize and apply plants in traditional Balinese medicine. Traditional health can be interpreted as a reference in guiding children to achieve their certain goals.Keywords: Lontar taru premana, Balinese Local Genius, Etnopedagogy.

Abstract

Bali is one of the provinces in Indonesia, with customary law regulated in awig-awig which has become an agreement in the customs that apply in indigenous people which are shown to regulate the needs of the community, one of which is the marriage rule. Traditional marriages held in the Tenganan Pegringsingan traditional village are an inner and outer bond between men and women carried out with a series of sacred events in order to form and build a safe and controlled family based on awig-awig which incidentally is the basis of social resilience of the Tenganan Pegringsingan traditional village communitywhich has been regulated in Article 4, Article 5, Article 15, Article 16, Article 32, Article 40, Article 49, Article 50, Article 56, and Article 57. This manuscript is based on qualitative research, through descriptive analysis methods and ethnographic approaches.Keywords: awig-awig, marriage, social resilience
