Abstract

This outreach focuses on community service as a response to findings in the literature review regarding waste management using the 3R principles in Indonesia and also making ecobricks as an effort to process waste so that it has useful value. Involving the community directly, service activities aim to implement the 3R principles in daily life and tell the community how to make ecobricks. In the context of community empowerment, this research notes positive behavioral changes that emerge from a participatory approach, such as increased awareness of waste management and active participation in sustainable practices. The results of this service offer in-depth insight into how involving the community directly can be the key to success in achieving sustainable waste management practices, forming a more environmentally conscious society, and creating a positive impact in the local economic context.

Abstract

 Today's Air Conditioner (AC) cooling systems are included in the basic needs category, especially for tropical climate areas such as Jakarta and its surroundings and many other areas in Indonesia. The use of air conditioning provides many benefits for human life, namely providing comfort during work or study activities and resting, thereby increasing productivity and maintaining the health of the human body, especially for students and educators at the Tahfidz Markaz Hadits Bilal Bin Rabah Islamic Boarding School. One type of AC cooler that is often used by people is the split wall (non-inverter) AC type because it has several advantages, including cheaper prices and fairly easy installation. Like most other electronic products, ACs must also undergo regular maintenance, according to product guidelines and usage time, so that the AC can work optimally without problems and extend the lifespan of the AC. To carry out maintenance independently and equip the students with knowledge and expertise, Pamulang University lecturers and students in the electrical engineering study program carry out one of the tri dharmas of higher education, namely community service with the title "AC Training and Maintenance at the Tahfidz Markaz Hadits Bilal Bin Rabah Islamic Boarding School."

Abstract

Business tax reporting for company is a requirement that must be fulfilled every year. For small and micro entrepreneurs who have limited human resources who understand taxation, the obligation to report taxes can be an important issue that can lead to errors in reporting and paying taxes. With this background, the community service team from the Faculty of Economics and Business, Telkom University, carried out community service activities with the theme "Assistance in Corporate Tax Reporting" aimed at business actors who are members of the Indonesian Consultants Association (Perkindo) in the West Java region. The activity was held on February 29 2024 with a total of 25 participants. The aim of carrying out community service activities this time is to increase the awareness of business actors regarding the tax regulations currently in force as well as improve the skills of business actors in the issue of calculating and reporting taxes.

Abstract

Medicinal plants are plants that are used to treat a disease. Along with the progress of the era, the use of medicinal plants began to shift by using chemical-based drugs.  Although some use traditional medicine, there are some traditional medicines that have additional medicinal chemicals. This can cause health problems if used for a long period of time. Based on observations in Banjar Agung Udik Village, many people recognize medicinal plants around the house. But to use and process them into medicinal plants, many people do not use them again to overcome a disease. Therefore, knowledge about the introduction and processing of medicinal plants that are good and correct. The hope of this Community Service activity is to increase the knowledge and skills of the community in using medicinal plants and processing them properly in overcoming an illness. Increased understanding occurred in this activity, namely with the results of the pre-test average of 86.67 and the post-test average of 98.75. So that there was an increase of 12.08 points.

Abstract

Disability is a condition where a person has limitations in carrying out daily activities due to physical, mental, intellectual or sensory barriers which give rise to negative stigma from society, such as the opinion that people with disabilities are not worthy of receiving a normal education, let alone working like people in general. Society considers that people with disabilities are the same as sick people who need special treatment and must be cared for with full attention. The aim of this training is an effort to support independent literacy aimed at people with disabilities in Tegal Bahari. The method for implementing this community service program is carried out by providing training and entrepreneurial assistance through several programs such as: training in making shibori batik, hydroponics, spinach sticks, making vlogs and bazaar activities. The results of this entrepreneurship training program include developing skills, increasing creativity, increasing self-confidence in social relationships, developing an entrepreneurial spirit and independence in people with maritime disabilities. The conclusion from this community service is that entrepreneurship training can be an effort to develop independence literacy for maritime disabilities.

Abstract

The use of information and communication technology has had an impact on the use of information and communication technology in various fields related to administration. The use of technology is increasingly common among today's society, including the use of computers, tablets and smartphones. Technological advances have also made it easier to use information and communication technology in administrative work, especially with internet access becoming more easily accessible. Like Fatayat NU, the Islamic Women's Organization also has religious, social and familial aspects. This organization still has many problems that are not yet understood in implementing their activities using information technology, especially in terms of management. Fatayat NU Ciledug is facing several obstacles in managing the creation of attendance forms or participants taking part in competitions for its activities, including a lack of understanding of Google Forms and forms that are not filled out completely. One step to solve this problem is to carry out community service to help provide an understanding of (1) the use of Google Forms and (2) the creation of Google Forms. The service method used consists of four steps, namely: (1) Planning step; (2) preparatory steps; (3) implementation steps and (4) evaluation steps. The result of this community service activity is an increase in the ability of female Fatayat NU Ciledug members in creating forms using Google Forms, as well as developing their knowledge and skills. Apart from that, this activity was published in the editorial media of a national journal.

Abstract

Training on Assessment of PAUD Teachers in Fulfilling Child Health Standards is a community service program designed with the main aim of increasing the knowledge and skills of Early Childhood Education (PAUD) teachers in assessing children's health. This training also aims to strengthen the capacity of PAUD teachers. in proactively identifying and dealing with various children's health problems, which in turn is expected to produce a healthier learning environment and contribute positively to the growth and development of early childhood in the Pademangan District area, North Jakarta. Through structured training methods, this program focuses on identifying the specific needs of PAUD teachers, preparing relevant training materials, as well as implementing training sessions involving opening and orientation, theory sessions, practical sessions, and evaluation and feedback. It is hoped that through this assessment training, PAUD teachers will be able to more effectively meet child health standards, improve the quality of learning, and make a positive contribution to early childhood development in Pademangan District, North Jakarta.

Abstract

The focus of research in this paper is the impact of industrial waste on the Metro River, Bandulan, Malang. The Metro River is one of the small rivers in Malang City which is used by the local community to meet their daily needs. This research study uses the method of studying the encyclical Laudato Si' issued by Pope Francis in response to current environmental problems. From the research studies that have been carried out, researchers found several things that have not been answered by several figures regarding river water pollution by industrial waste. First, industrial waste threatens the survival of future generations. Second, pollution of river water by factory waste will cause or cause disease in those who use the river water. Third, the underground water that people use and suck for consumption may be polluted by industrial waste. Another important issue is that it is very difficult to prevent waste from being dumped into rivers, because some of the residents who work in industry are residents who live around the Metro River. Human awareness is needed to protect and care for the earth so that the earth becomes a safe place for all living creatures to live. In the encyclical Laudato Si', Pope Francis invites humans to love and pay attention to the environment. Allah has created this earth well.

Abstract

The implementation of community service activities aims to enhance understanding and skills in financial reporting for the iSAK 35 Foundation by the East Kutai Education Foundation. The technical guidance method is employed as the primary approach in this intervention, through a series of tailored training sessions, workshops, and consultation sessions to meet the Foundation's needs. An analysis of the effectiveness of this intervention is conducted by evaluating the participants' knowledge and skills enhancement, as well as changes in the Foundation's financial reporting practices. The results demonstrate a significant improvement in the comprehension of concepts and implementation of ISAK 35 financial reporting, alongside the adoption of best practices in Foundation financial management. The implications of this research encompass strengthening the Foundation's capacity in more effective and transparent financial management, as well as the potential to enhance the quality of financial reports to support accountability and transparency in managing the Foundation's funds and resources.

Abstract

Infestation with intestinal worms is a disease caused by parasitic worms, transmitted through the eggs present in the feces of infected individuals and contaminating the soil in environments with poor sanitation. It is estimated that around 1.5 billion people, or approximately 24% of the world's population, are affected by this disease. In Indonesia alone, there were 73,108,392 preschool and school-age children requiring preventive treatment for worm infestations in 2021. Worm infections are often overlooked due to the indirect nature of their effects, even though they can lead to long-term consequences, especially for young children, predominantly those in preschool and school-age. Preventive treatment measures implemented in Indonesia involve administering large-scale anthelmintic drugs to at-risk populations, which can reduce the number of worms infecting individuals. This intervention has the potential to decrease the morbidity associated with severe worm infestations. Furthermore, preventive measures to lower the prevalence of worm infections include educational campaigns on preventing worm infestations. With adequate knowledge of prevention methods, then communities can take steps to prevent the spread of these worm infections.
