Abstract

The community service program in Kampung Pujo Kerto faces significant challenges related to the sustainability of the Integrated Posyandu and the problem of stagnant household liquid waste, which has the potential to thwart ongoing initiatives. Departing from the success of the formation of the Posyandu Prima organization and training of cadres at the PPDM Poltekkes Tanjung Karang in 2023, this community service program focuses on the sustainability of integrated Posyandu and innovative solutions for handling liquid waste in order to create a healthy and sustainable environment. The main objective of the PPDM Poltekkes Tanjungkarang activity is to strengthen the integrated Posyandu and build a pilot Wastewater Drainage Channel (SPAL). The methodology used includes the preparation, implementation, and monitoring evaluation stages. The results that have been achieved include improving the skills of integrated Posyandu cadres and the construction of 10 wastewater drainage channels (SPAL), showing concrete steps towards improving environmental health and sanitation in village Pujo Kerto.

Abstract

Efforts to improve community nutrition can be carried out through education and the development of nutritious food products based on local ingredients. This activity aimed to provide socialization and hands-on training to students of SMK Muhammadiyah Kabil Batam on how to diversify sweet bread products by incorporating local food ingredients such as sweet potatoes, pumpkins, and bananas. The methods included nutrition and food security education, product demonstrations, and student practice sessions. The results showed high student enthusiasm and successful creation of sweet bread variations that were both visually appealing and more nutritious. This activity also increased students’ awareness of the importance of consuming local food and opened opportunities for health-oriented culinary entrepreneurship. Therefore, the training contributed to improving culinary skills, nutrition knowledge, and sustainable use of local resources.

Abstract

DAMIU is a microenterprise that has had significant growth in East Balikpapan, particularly in the Lamaru region. The necessity of water is paramount for humans, as it is a vital component of the body, supports essential activities, and is crucial for general health. Socialization occurs in person in the Lamaru Balikpapan Timur Health Center auditorium. Customers requiring water refills predominantly consist of stalls, private residences, and projects, with a general preference for delivery over self-collection at the depot. The distribution process employs a pick-up vehicle with a capacity of 60-70 gallons each trip. The survey results indicated a production of 3,800 liters per day for one vehicle. Among the 10 depots, 3 DAMIUs utilize one vehicle, while 7 DAMIUs employ 2 to 3 vehicles. The water supply utilized comprises 80% PDAM from 10 DAMIUs. Customers who are frequently disoriented and negligent impede the delivery procedure. Map Marker accurately identifies the client's location by interfacing with Google Maps and allows the input of images of residences, stalls, or locations, as well as customer telephone numbers. Participants from the socialization group rated it 6 out of 10, exhibiting complete curiosity about utilizing the application. DAMIU owners in the East Balikpapan area have achieved income stability and mitigated staff fraud through the utilization of the Map Marker application, presenting a significant advantage for them.

Abstract

This Community Service (PKM) activity aims to introduce and strengthen logo design and digital marketing through mentoring activities carried out directly to students in Muara Badak District. Logo creation is considered important because it will impact the selling value of the product itself, while digital marketing functions to expand market share. This activity has five stages: problem analysis, collaboration with related parties, activity preparation, implementation, and evaluation of results. The implementation of the activity has run smoothly. The evaluation results show that students, as participants in the activity, have understood the importance of logos and digital marketing in helping increase product sales. They can also utilize the potential of e-commerce and social media to help market products to gain a wider market share.

Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is increasingly transformative in various fields, including education and the world of work. For school students, AI can help personalize learning, provide recommendations for materials according to needs, and facilitate access to information through virtual assistants such as chatbots. In the world of work, AI increases efficiency by automating routine tasks, advanced data analysis, and predictive decision-making. However, challenges such as the digital divide and the need for skill enhancement need to be addressed so that the benefits of AI can be felt evenly. With the right understanding and utilization, AI has the potential to drive innovation and productivity in the digital era.

Abstract

This activity was carried out in Banjar Agung Udik Village, Pugung District, Tanggamus Regency. The diversity of flora in Banjar Agung Udik Village creates great potential for the development of nature-based art and creativity. The use of natural materials for art and creativity will not only produce unique and aesthetic works of art, but also have high economic potential. One method that can be used is the ecoprint technique, so a deep understanding of the ecoprint technique, research on appropriate natural materials, and training for the local community are needed. The PKM activity was carried out in 2 stages, the first stage was the delivery of material through lectures and discussions, the second stage was a demonstration/practice of making patterned cloth with the ecoprint technique. The evaluation results showed an increase in the pre-test and post- test scores of 2.75 or 13.75%. The conclusion of this activity is that the knowledge, insight, and skills of the community in Banjar Agung Udik Village have increased, especially regarding the use of the ecoprint technique in making patterned cloth.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve tax literacy, particularly related to Income Tax (PPh), among the millennial generation. The program was implemented through four stages: preparation and planning, socialization implementation, simulation and Q&A, and evaluation. The preparation phase involved identifying information needs, which led to the development of visual and digital-based educational modules and media. Socialization was conducted both offline and online, using a communicative approach relevant to young adults' characteristics. Tax calculation and reporting simulations were carried out to enhance participants' practical understanding, followed by interactive question-and-answer sessions. Evaluation using pre-test and post-test methods showed a significant improvement in participants' understanding, with average scores increasing from 52 to 84. The activity received positive feedback, with most participants expressing increased confidence in fulfilling their tax obligations independently. These results indicate that a communicative and applicative educational approach is effective in promoting voluntary tax compliance among millennials.

Abstract

This service provides socialization about sharia mutual fund investment to the community in Logas Village, Singingi District. In this service, training is also provided on how to start investing in sharia mutual funds using a digital investment platform and how to buy and sell sharia mutual funds on the digital investment platform. The main problems experienced by partners in general are the lack of knowledge about legal investment and limited knowledge about the development of information technology that can facilitate investment. So that it becomes a factor that causes partners not to try to start investing. The implementation method used is lectures, demonstrations/practices, and discussions. The implementation of this activity was attended by 10 people consisting of 8 women and 2 men with an age range of 15-44 years. From this activity, the service team succeeded in increasing the participants' understanding of sharia mutual fund investment, how to start investing in sharia mutual funds with a digital investment platform and how to carry out sharia mutual fund buying and selling transactions. This is indicated by an increase in participant knowledge as seen from the participant questionnaire score during the pre-test, which was only 47.5%, increasing to 77.75% after the training. Although the benefits of community service are very significant for participant knowledge of sharia mutual fund investment and the use of the Bibit application. However, participants are expected to continue practicing sharia mutual fund investment, to improve their skills and provide hope for a better future through investment.

Abstract

Permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh orang tua Anak berkebutuhan khusus yaitu rendahnya keterlibatan orang tua dalam pengasuhan anak. Ketidaktahuan dan kurangnya pemahaman orang tua terkait kebutuhan khusus anak menyebabkan orang tua mengalami kesulitan dalam pengasuhan dan perawatan yang tepat. Melalui kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat ini diharapkan Sekolah menjadi tempat yang bisa memberikan edukasi kepada orang tua anak mereka dan membantu orangtua memahami kebutuhan belajar dan perkembangan anak. Memberikan dukungan orang tua anak berkebutuhan khusus dalam pengasuhan dengan mengedukasi orang tua tentang karakteristik, kebutuhan belajar, keterampilan yang bisa dilatihkan kepada anak berkebutuhan khusus dan memberikan panduan aktivitas orang tua bersama anak di rumah.

Abstract

Deaf children in Indonesia are more vulnerable to sexual abuse due to communication difficulties and a lack of knowledge about self-protection concepts. This community service programme aims to raise awareness about the prevention of sexual violence through a visual media and sign language-based education programme for deaf students at SLB-B YPPLB Makassar. Fifteen children and teachers took part in a one-day interactive training and socialisation activity involving a visual approach, sign language and hands-on practice. Pre- and post-test evaluation techniques showed a significant improvement in students' understanding, as evidenced by an increase in the average score from 3.5 to 10.7. Topics covered in the learning materials included identifying private body parts, recognising safe and unsafe touch, the different forms of sexual abuse (verbal, physical and digital) and reporting techniques. The main challenge lies in the insufficient involvement of parents and teachers. Continuous collaboration between schools, families and the community is necessary to achieve long-term results. This programme demonstrates the effectiveness of visual and sign language-based approaches in teaching deaf children about preventing sexual violence.
