Abstract

Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem caused by long-term inadequate nutritional intake, resulting in impaired growth in children. The nutritional status of pregnant women can be measured through body mass index (BMI) and weight gain during pregnancy, which reflect the nutritional condition of the mother and fetus. This study aims to determine the relationship between pre-pregnancy BMI and weight gain during pregnancy with the incidence of stunting in toddlers in the working area of Pekauman Health Center. This research uses a quantitative method with a Cross-Sectional approach, involving 30 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using mother and child observation sheets and the KIA book, then analyzed using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov and Chi-Square tests. The results showed no significant relationship between pre-pregnancy BMI and the incidence of stunting, but there was a significant relationship between weight gain during pregnancy and the incidence of stunting in toddlers.

Abstract

The city of Medan is the capital of the province of North Sumatra, Indonesia, and is the third largest city in the country after Jakarta and Surabaya, as well as the largest outside Java. Medan faces serious problems related to traffic accidents. This study used a questionnaire to explore the relationship between age and sleep quality and the incidence of accidents in online motorcycle taxi drivers. This type of research is quantitative with a cross-sectional design, involving a sample of active online motorcycle taxi drivers from Gojek and Grab partners. Sleep quality was measured using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI). Driver behavior is measured using the Motorcycle Rider Behavior Questionnaire (MBRQ). To increase the accuracy of the analysis of accident factors, researchers also checked the blood pressure of online motorcycle taxi drivers at 08.00 WIB. The results showed that 24 people (66.7%) aged ≥ 35 years were at risk of having an accident, while 24 people (66.7%) experienced problems with drowsiness when driving, 29 people (80.6%) with unsafe behavior when driving so they were at risk. had a traffic accident and 13 drivers showed abnormal blood pressure. To reduce this risk, it is recommended that drivers slow down vehicle speed, get enough sleep, reduce coffee consumption, and obey traffic signs.

Abstract

One of the most popular fruits in Indonesia is Arumanis mango, which has high levels of ascorbic acid. These levels can be influenced by storage time and temperature. The purpose of this study was to provide information about the effect of storage time and temperature on ascorbic acid levels of Arumanis mangoes. The research method used was laboratory experimental with a focus on arumanis mangoes exposed to different lengths of time (0, 2, 4, and 6 days) and temperatures (25°C and 5°C). The ascorbic acid content of the samples was then assessed using spectrophotometric methods. The collected data were analyzed using the two-way Anova test to detect the ascorbic acid content of arumanis mango fruit stored at various times and temperatures. The average ascorbic acid content of Arumanis mangoes stored at room temperature is 3.703%, while the average ascorbic acid content of Arumanis mangoes stored in the refrigerator is 5%. The ascorbic acid content decreased on days 2, 4, and 6 of storage in both temperature groups. The results of the two-way ANOVA test showed a p <0.05, indicating an interaction between storage duration and temperature in determining the ascorbic acid content of Arumanis mangoes. There is an interaction between storage duration and temperature in determining the ascorbic acid content of Arumanis mangoes. The longer the storage period, the lower the ascorbic acid content, while lower storage temperatures slow down the decrease in ascorbic acid content.

Abstract

Indonesia is still one of the countries with a fairly high prevalence of stunting. Stunting has a nutritional status definition described by the PB/U or TB/U index in anthropometric measurements, the assessment of the results using the Z-Score table is at a threshold of <-2 SD to -3 SD which is included in the stunted category (short) and a threshold of <-3 SD which is included in the severely stunted category (very short). The most common risk factors for stunting in Indonesia are maternal, child and environmental factors. Integrated health services have an important role in helping to prevent stunting. Posyandu cadres are required to have good knowledge regarding stunting in order to educate mothers and families, which are the most common risk factors for stunting. The level of knowledge of posyandu cadres about stunting varies so that it is necessary to screen and make efforts to improve the knowledge of posyandu cadres.

Abstract

Epilepsy is a chronic neurological disorder that affects cognitive function, emotions, and behavior. Limitations in cognitive function in people with epilepsy have a significant impact on the patient's quality of life. The neuropsychological approach plays an important role in the diagnosis of epilepsy, especially in identifying cognitive and emotional disorders that often accompany epilepsy. This study aims to describe the impact of epilepsy on cognitive function and evaluate the effectiveness of various neuropsychological interventions. The narrative review method was used in this literature review, by reviewing seven literatures obtained from two primary databases, namely PubMed and Proquest. The results showed that significantly impacted cognitive function by epilepsy including general intelligence, executive function, memory, and attention. Several interventions for epilepsy have shown the effectiveness of drug therapy such as corticosteroids and anakinra, non-invasive interventions such as external trigeminal nerve stimulation (ETNS), and innovative therapy using LEGO® in reducing seizure frequency and improving cognitive function.
