Abstract

Tidal floods are one of the natural disasters that are increasingly occurring in Indonesia's coastal areas due to rising sea levels and climate change. Hamlet II, Tanjung Rejo Village, which is in the lowlands, is one of the areas that is vulnerable to tidal floods. This study aims to evaluate the level of community knowledge regarding preparedness in facing the risk of tidal floods. The methods used include pre-conditioning, education, discussion and evaluation stages. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in community knowledge after the socialization was carried out. Before the socialization, only 14 out of 50 respondents understood preparedness steps, but this number increased to 43 respondents after the activity took place. This increase indicates that education and outreach programs are effective in increasing public awareness of preparedness for tidal floods.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a metabolic disease characterized by hyperglycemia due to impaired glucose regulation, with Indonesia ranking fourth in the world for the number of cases. Type 2, often associated with insulin resistance, can lead to various skin complications, including Acanthosis Nigricans (AN) and Necrobiosis Lipoidica (NL). AN appears as hyperpigmentation in body fold areas and is often an early indicator of insulin resistance. Meanwhile, NL, characterized by erythematous papules that develop into yellow-brown plaques, is often associated with diabetes complications. This study aims to discuss the clinical manifestations and management of AN and NL, using a literature review approach that includes analysis of articles from PubMed, Google Scholar, and Sciencedirect . Findings highlight the importance of a deep understanding of these conditions to enable early intervention and appropriate care. With the rising prevalence of diabetes, this knowledge is expected to increase awareness among healthcare professionals and the general public regarding the risks and management of skin complications associated with diabetes.

Abstract

Pulmonary Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis bacteria that requires long-term treatment and a high level of patient adherence to achieve recovery. Adherence to medication is a key factor in the success of TB treatment. One factor that can influence patient adherence is the emotional support received from their family. To determine the relationship between emotional support and medication adherence among pulmonary tuberculosis patients in the working area of Pekauman Public Health Center, Banjarmasin City. This research is a quantitative study with a cross-sectional design, involving a sample of 36 respondents selected using a total sampling technique. Data collection was conducted using emotional support and medication adherence questionnaires. Data analysis was performed using the Spearman rank test with a 95% confidence level. Most TB patients at the Pekauman Public Health Center, Banjarmasin City, received high emotional support, with 22 respondents (61.1%), and demonstrated good medication adherence, with 29 respondents (80.6%). The Spearman rank test results showed a significant value (2-tailed) of p-value = 0.003 < 0.05, indicating that the null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected, and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. This means that there is a relationship between emotional support and medication adherence among pulmonary tuberculosis patients in the working area of Pekauman Public Health Center, Banjarmasin City.
