Abstract

The rapid growth of the halal cosmetics industry, accompanied by increasing consumer awareness of sustainability and ethical production, has created new strategic challenges for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia. Many halal cosmetic MSMEs face limitations in structured business planning, digital capability, and innovation integration, which may hinder their competitiveness in an increasingly dynamic market. This study aims to formulate a comprehensive halal green business model for CV. Berkah Bersama Tanzif as a strategic response to the evolving halal cosmetics ecosystem. Employing a descriptive qualitative research design, data were collected through in-depth interviews, field observations, and documentation analysis. The analytical framework integrated Business Model Canvas (BMC) mapping with Internal External Factor Analysis, SWOT analysis, and the Quantitative Strategic Planning Matrix (QSPM). The findings indicate that the company has successfully integrated halal assurance principles with sustainability-oriented practices across the nine BMC components, which were refined into a Halal Green Business Model Canvas (HGBMC). Key internal strengths include strong halal values, leadership commitment, complete certification, continuous product innovation, and digital marketing utilization, while external opportunities arise from regulatory support, growing demand for halal-natural cosmetics, and global market expansion. QSPM results identify global halal green market expansion as the most attractive strategic priority, followed by product differentiation and supply chain strengthening. This study contributes to the development of halal-based business model theory by demonstrating how halal governance and environmental sustainability can be systematically integrated to enhance MSME competitiveness in the cosmetic sector.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze how the film Melukis Luka represents the psychological impact experienced by ethnic Chinese survivors of the May 1998 tragedy through Charles Sanders Peirce's semiotic approach. The research method uses a descriptive qualitative approach with documentation techniques and sign analysis consisting of signs, objects, and interpretants in the film's scenes. The results of the study indicate that the film Melukis Luka represents four main forms of psychological impact, namely post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), excessive anxiety, personality disorders, and difficulties in regulating emotions and behavior. These impacts are depicted through the traumatic experiences of the character Hanry such as nightmares, fear of crowds, withdrawal behavior, and wariness of strangers as a response to the loss of family during the riots. This study concludes that Melukis Luka functions not only as a medium of entertainment, but also as a space for historical reflection and social criticism of the long-term impact of the May 1998 tragedy that is still felt today. Thus, Melukis Luka presents a humanitarian narrative that invites the audience to not forget history and build empathy for survivors who continue to struggle to face their wounds.

Abstract

This study examines how tradition is adapted through creativity and innovation in the Sasak community’s Kecimol performance, with a focus on the Merpati Nusantara ensemble in Mataram. The research aims to identify how Kecimol, originally a traditional ensemble rooted in Cilokaq, has evolved into a performance that integrates modern instruments, cross-genre repertoires, portable stage designs, and the use of digital media. Using an ethnographic approach involving participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, the study highlights how the creativity of the artists and the active participation of the community as both audience and co-creators drive collective innovation. This innovation successfully preserves local identity while engaging with global trends. The adaptation demonstrates cultural resilience, sustaining the vitality of tradition amid modernization, despite intergenerational value tensions and negative stigmas. From a socio-economic perspective, Kecimol functions as an alternative income source, a social interaction platform, and a form of public entertainment. This research contributes theoretically by enriching studies on creativity and cultural adaptation, while providing practical insights for cultural preservation strategies, creative economy development, and community-based tourism. Overall, Kecimol exemplifies the Sasak community’s identity and the sustainability of traditional arts within the context of globalization.

Abstract

Vehicle rental services still face various obstacles such as limited accessibility, manual management, and the absence of an integrated system. This study aims to develop a multi-platform web and mobile-based application model that can improve the efficiency and transparency of vehicle rental services. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with stages of needs analysis, system design, implementation, and testing using the System Usability Scale (SUS). Research data was obtained from direct interviews with rental owners and surveys of 21 potential users. The test results showed an average usability score of 79.4 out of 100, which is in the “good” category. This indicates that the developed application model is superior to the previous models (SDLC and RAD), which were only tested through black-box testing without measuring user usability. With these results, the research successfully introduced an R&D-based application development model that is measurable through SUS, thereby contributing scientifically to improving the effectiveness of the digital vehicle rental system.

Abstract

This study employed a qualitative research method, focusing on a case study of the recent flood disasters in Sumatra that occurred over the past two weeks. The research aims to evaluate the government’s response to these disasters through the lens of Mazmanian and Sabatier’s policy implementation theory, which emphasizes three primary determinants of policy implementation success: problem tractability, the ability of policy decisions to structure implementation, and non-statutory variables, including local context, organizational culture, and political support. The findings indicate that delayed initial responses, fragmented coordination among government agencies and technical institutions, and limited institutional capacity significantly undermined the effectiveness of flood management. Furthermore, although existing policy frameworks have been formalized, they remain insufficiently adaptive and do not provide adequate operational mechanisms to address the complex and dynamic nature of disaster events. These shortcomings have contributed to heightened public dissatisfaction and demands from communities struggling for survival. This study is expected to provide academic insights and constructive guidance for the government in enhancing policy implementation for disaster management, particularly in the context of the ongoing floods in Sumatra

Abstract

This research aims to identify and reconstruct sharia governance for sharia-based capital markets which aim to improve the economy, etc. The research method used is qualitative research. This research is a type of research whose findings are not obtained through statistical procedures or other forms of calculation. Qualitative research is based on the philosophy of post-positivism methods with natural object conditions, by placing the researcher as a small tool or instrument. The result of the discussion is that the Sharia Capital Market has proven its significant contribution to financial access, sustainable economic growth and investment by complying with sharia principles. Sharia financial instruments such as sukuk and sharia shares have opened the door to various parties who previously may have been reluctant to engage in conventional investments. By focusing on sectors that support sustainable economic development and social projects, the Islamic capital market provides diverse investment alternatives and supports economic inclusivity. Even though the sharia capital market offers great potential, there are still a number of problems in sharia governance that need to be overcome. Challenges in standardization, legal limitations, and lack of membership can affect the performance and incompetence of Islamic capital markets. By implementing measures such as harmonization of standards, increased transparency, and increased awareness, the Islamic capital market can strengthen its position as a driver of economic growth that is inclusive and in accordance with Sharia values.

Abstract

Sorong Regency experiences high rainfall in certain months, especially in the Katapop area, so slope stability is one of the important factors related to soil characteristics and slopes that cause landslides. Previously, it was known that there are many models for analyzing slope stability, one of which is Slope Mass Rating (SMR), which is usually used on rocky slopes. However, this study will analyze the level of slope stability on soil slopes with modified parameters. The purpose of this study is to analyze slope stability in the Katapop area through an analysis of the influence of slope inclination and soil characteristics using the Slope Mass Rating (SMR) approach and comparing the results with the Safety Factor (SF) values from the Bishop method in GeoSlope to assess the feasibility of using modified SMR as an alternative method. The data collection technique used a handboring tool. The results of the study show that the potential for landslides in Katapop is influenced by slope inclination, soil composition, and water content, which affect the SMR value and slope stability. Validation using the Bishop method in GeoSlope is in line with the SMR classification results.

Abstract

The ethical crisis, value disorientation, and the rapid spread of digital disinformation present serious challenges to the development of human resources in the digital era. These phenomena not only weaken moral foundations but also threaten social cohesion in increasingly multicultural societies. This study proposes a character strengthening model based on multiculturalism and digital literacy as a strategic framework for preparing superior human resources toward Indonesia 2045. The model integrates core character values such as integrity, responsibility, critical thinking, empathy, and respect for diversity with multicultural awareness and digital literacy competencies. Through this integrative approach, individuals are equipped to navigate ethical dilemmas, respond critically to digital information, and engage responsibly in diverse social and digital environments. The implementation of the model emphasizes collaborative involvement among educational institutions, families, communities, and government, supported by contextual learning strategies and ethical digital practices. This model is expected to strengthen moral resilience, promote social harmony, and enhance digital intelligence, thereby contributing to the formation of ethically grounded, culturally inclusive, and digitally competent human resources capable of supporting sustainable national development toward Indonesia 2045.

Abstract

This study examines the roles of community capabilities, cultural capital, social participation, and cultural identity in driving the economic empowerment of local communities in Samosir as a National Super Priority Tourism Destination. The rapid development of tourism in strategic destinations often creates economic opportunities while simultaneously posing risks of social exclusion and cultural commodification if local communities are not actively involved. Using a mixed-methods approach, this research integrates quantitative data obtained from surveys of local tourism actors, micro and small enterprise owners, and community leaders, with qualitative insights from in-depth interviews and focus group discussions. The findings indicate that community capabilities—particularly skills, knowledge, and organizational capacity—have a significant positive effect on local economic empowerment. Cultural capital and cultural identity function not only as economic assets that enhance destination attractiveness but also as social resources that strengthen community cohesion and bargaining power. Furthermore, social participation mediates the relationship between community capabilities and economic empowerment, ensuring that tourism benefits are distributed more inclusively. This study contributes to the literature on community-based tourism by highlighting an integrated model of economic empowerment that places local culture and collective participation at its core. The results offer important policy implications for sustainable tourism development in Samosir and other super priority destinations, emphasizing the need to strengthen community capacity, protect cultural identity, and promote participatory governance to achieve inclusive and sustainable economic growth.

Abstract

This research aims to identify and analyze the communication factor in the implementation of poverty reduction policies in Maluku Province in 2023. This study employs a qualitative approach, adopting the theory of Edward III, where policy implementation is based on four factors: communication, resources, disposition, and bureaucratic structure. However, the main focus discussed in this research is the communication factor. Data collection was conducted using in-depth interviews with several key informants from local government in Maluku Province, including the Social Service, Education Service, Health Service, Industry and Trade Service, Manpower and Transmigration Service and the Regional Development Planning Agency. The results indicate that the implementation of poverty reduction policies in Maluku Province generally still requires improvement in terms of communication. It is imperative for the government to strengthen and intensify communication and coordination between policy-makers and the targeting of the policy. This crucial step is necessary to realize the intended and successful outcomes of the poverty reduction program implementation in Maluku.
