Abstract

Traditional markets in Indonesia face serious challenges in maintaining their existence due to the massive expansion of modern markets, changes in consumer preferences, and pressure from the development of digital technology. This phenomenon raises concerns about the sustainability of traditional markets as part of local social, cultural, and economic identities. To understand how this issue develops in scientific studies, this study uses a bibliometric approach based on publication data from the Scopus database. The data analyzed consisted of 200 documents published between 2000 and 2024, obtained using keywords such as "traditional market", "modern retail", "market competition", and "sustainability". The analysis was carried out using VOSviewer software for mapping keyword networks and author collaborations, and Microsoft Excel to identify annual publication trends and geographic distribution. The results of the analysis show that the focus of research on traditional markets has increased rapidly in the last five years, especially related to issues of socio-economic resilience and technology integration. In addition, it was found that Asian countries, especially Indonesia and India, dominate the production of literature in this field, with scientific collaboration still centered in national institutions. This study reveals that the sustainability of traditional markets is not only discussed from an economic aspect, but is also associated with social inclusion, public policy, and resistance to economic globalization.

Abstract

This study analyzes the factors affecting bank profitability in Indonesia during 2012–2023 using quarterly data from 50 banks listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. Bank profitability is calculated by Return on Assets (ROA) and Return on Equity (ROE), with explanatory variables including capital adequacy ratios (CAR) measured by total capital to total assets (TCTA) and total capital to risk weighted assets (TCRWA), equity ratios (EQTA), cost-to-income ratios (CIR), debt-to-equity ratios (DER), bank size (SIZE), and non-performing loans (NPL). Panel regression shows that CAR, EQTA, and DER are insignificant, while CIR, SIZE, and NPL negatively affect profitability. Machine learning techniques (Random Forest and XGBoost) confirm CIR, NPL, and SIZE as key factors. The findings highlight the importance of operational efficiency and credit risk management for improving bank profitability, offering insights for managers and policymakers.

Abstract

This study discusses political communication in the digital era, focusing on the role of social media in shaping public opinion. The development of information technology has changed the patterns of political interaction, where social media has become a primary channel for political actors to convey messages, build images, and mobilize support in the 2024 Presidential Election. This research uses a qualitative approach with a literature review method and observation of political communication phenomena across various social media platforms such as Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok. The findings of this study show that social media plays a significant role in shaping public opinion during the 2024 Presidential Election. Social media facilitates two-way communication between candidates and voters, expands political participation, and provides quicker and more efficient access to political information. However, this study also identifies major challenges related to the spread of misinformation and political polarization, which can affect voter perceptions and exacerbate tensions in society. Overall, although social media offers advantages in terms of cost efficiency and audience reach, its use needs to be balanced with responsibility to ensure that the information disseminated is accurate and not misleading.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of inflation, exports, imports, exchange rates, and foreign direct investment (FDI) that are estimated to have an effect on German economic growth between 1990-2022. To analyze the relationship between these variables, this study was conducted using time series data from the World Bank and the Error Correction Methodology (ECM), a quantitative approach used in this study. The data processing process from the World Bank uses the Eviews13 software. Based on the findings, export variables significantly and positively affect economic growth in the short term, while factors of imports, inflation, and foreign direct investment significantly and negatively affect economic growth in the long term. Although the exchange rate does not have a statistically significant impact, the exchange rate remains important when it comes to foreign investment and trade. The model used meets classical assumption tests, including normality tests, the absence of autocorrelation and heteroscedasticity, and the absence of multicollinearity in most variables.

Abstract

Policy synchronization between the central and regional governments is a key factor in ensuring the effectiveness of integrated and sustainable development. However, in practice, there are often disagreements, overlapping regulations, and differences in priorities that hinder optimal policy implementation. One strategy that can be used to improve policy coordination and alignment is the Regional Head Retreat, which functions as a forum for reflection, consolidation, and formulation of joint strategies between the central and regional governments. The Regional Head Retreat is also a more implementative elaboration of Bureaucratic Reform. This is where the implementation of the retreat becomes the basic foundation for the implementation of the new government in each region. This study aims to analyze the role of the Retreat in strengthening policy synchronization, by highlighting the approach of both print and electronic information media and the theoretical basis as the main factors in its success. The research method used is a qualitative approach with a case study of the implementation of the 2025 Retreat in Magelang. The results of the study show that the Retreat designed with an inclusive and evidence-based approach can improve the effectiveness of intergovernmental communication, accelerate policy harmonization, and encourage the implementation of more coordinated development programs. Therefore, Retreat can be a strategic instrument in strengthening central-regional relations, reducing the potential for policy conflicts, and increasing accountability in the preparation and implementation of development programs. The recommendations of this study emphasize the need for more systematic regulations in integrating Retreat as part of the national policy cycle and increasing the capacity of regional heads in utilizing this forum more optimally.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the da'wah communication strategies used by religious figures in delivering Islamic messages through the YouTube platform. In the digital era, social media has become a primary means for spreading da'wah more broadly, quickly, and interactively. YouTube, as a video-based medium, enables preachers or religious figures to reach audiences across different ages, regions, and social backgrounds. This research adopts a qualitative approach using a case study method by observing and analyzing the da'wah content of several religious figures: Ustadz Abdul Somad, Ustadz Adi Hidayat, and Ustadz Khalid Basalamah. The results indicate that da'wah in the digital era, particularly through platforms like YouTube, has evolved rapidly, allowing preachers to reach wider audiences with creative and relevant content. Ustadz Abdul Somad (UAS) utilizes social media with a communicative approach involving humor and simple language, adapting his messages to the social and cultural context of the audience, making it accessible to various groups. Ustadz Adi Hidayat combines a systematic educational approach with an academic style that is easy to grasp, leveraging platform features to broaden his reach and build a dynamic learning community. Meanwhile, Ustadz Khalid Basalamah adopts a heartfelt preaching method, such as Mau'izhoh Hasanah, and engages in real actions through social and educational activities, actively interacting with his audience through comments to strengthen two-way communication. These three figures have successfully utilized technology to spread Islamic values effectively and innovatively.

Abstract

Halal certification plays an important role in ensuring the welfare of Muslims, both physically and spiritually. This is closely related to the principle of hifzh nafs in maqashid sharia which aims to protect human life and welfare. Although the importance of halal certification in the global market is increasing, there is still a lack of research that examines the direct relationship between halal certification and the protection of consumer health, safety, and spiritual peace. This problem is especially evident in studies that focus more on the economic or technical aspects of halal certification, without fully exploring its impact on consumer welfare from a holistic Islamic perspective. This study aims to fill this gap by analyzing the relationship between halal certification and the principle of hifzh nafs through a literature review approach. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, by collecting data from literature studies that include journals, books, and legal regulations related to halal certification and maqashid sharia. The results of the study indicate that halal certification functions as a guarantee of the physical, mental, and spiritual safety of consumers by ensuring that the products consumed do not contain ingredients that harm the body or soul. Halal certification also helps avoid potential risks that can affect physical and mental health, while providing peace of mind to consumers. Therefore, halal certification not only guarantees the halalness of products from a religious perspective, but also supports the protection of human life and welfare in accordance with the principles of maqashid sharia.
