Abstract

Rasau Jaya Port is a port located in Kubu Raya Regency, in West Kalimantan Province which has an important trajectory, namely Rasau Jaya -Teluk Batang which can be navigable by KMP. Kerapu. This line connects Kubu Raya Regency with North Kayong Regency. This port is an inland port which is the most important transportation access place in West Kalimantan. In the transportation system, security and safety are the top priorities as a form of providing good services for service users. Safety is shown not only to service users and ship operators, but also to vehicles transported on board. As is the handling of vehicle loading on board. The better the handling of cargo on board, the better the level of security and safety of the vehicle on board. The level of conformity of vehicle loading on ships has been regulated in Government Regulation Number 62 of 2019 concerning minimum service standards for crossing transportation, this study was conducted to determine the level of conformity of vehicle loadingand find out the load capacity based on SUP with current conditions. Efforts that need to be improved are the supervision of the loading of vehicles on board ships, port operators are required to weigh and measure cargo to carry out safe loading, and socialization is held to service providers with minimal services on board ships on safe, safe and comfortable loading of vehicles.

Abstract

Kariangau Ferry Port which is managed and supervised by the Land Transportation Management Agency (BPTD) Region XVII of East Kalimantan and North Kalimantan Provinces serves 3 tracks, namely Kariangau - Penajam, Balikpapan - Palu, and Balikpapan - Mamuju. The Balikpapan – Palu track is 213 miles served by the Swarna Kartika Crossing Motor Boat (KMP. Swarna Kartika) operated by PT. Jembatan Nusantara with travel time ±20 hours. The distance traveled which takes a long time, it is necessary to pay attention to the security and safety conditions of the vehicles on board the ship. Currently, the arrangement and handling of vehicle loads on board the ship is still careless and positioned at a very close distance without rope safety (lashing) so that it is very dangerous for ship operators and vehicles on board. The method used to analyze existing problems is the analysis of the calculation of the load capacity of vehicles per group based on the Production Unit (SUP) in the Regulation of the Minister of Transportation Number 66 of 2019 concerning the Mechanism for Determining and Formulating the Calculation of Crossing Transportation Tariffs. Based on the results of the analysis, it was concluded that the average load factor of loading and unloading vehicles is very high, namely 139.49%. The ideal number of vehicle capacities on board KMP.Swarna Kartika is not yet suitable based on the Production Unit (SUP), where the SUP available vessels is smaller than the capacity of the used SUP. So that from this calculation, it is planned to arrange vehicles per group on the ship to match the SUP capacity available for the ship.

Abstract

The navigation system is the key to the safety of the ship in carrying out the voyage. RADAR will be very useful during bad weather, foggy conditions and sailing at night, especially when navigational instructions such as beacons, buoys, hills or buildings cannot be visually observed. So prospective ship officers must understand and understand to use RADAR navigation tools. To find out the target position and reduce the accident rate in the shipping lane, the role of RADAR in supporting shipping safety is needed. This study aims to analyze the prevention of collision hazards by using the Maneuvering Board in the operation of the Binocular RADAR at MV AMRTA JAYA 1. The type of research used in this study is quantitative research. In this case the data collection techniques used are documentation and observation. Documentation is in the form of searching for information in the form of books and documents, while observation is in the form of an approach to the object of research. From the results of research conducted, it can be seen that the method used to calculate the RADAR Plotting Sheet can be done by theoretical methods with formulas and scale methods with mathematical logic. The two methods can be used with the same results but with different time efficiency. The use of muvering boards and RADAR Plotting Sheet calculations can help identify the presence or absence of a collision hazard, and help estimate the closest distance, time taken, course and speed of the target ship.

Abstract

Galala Ferry Port is a located in Galala Village, Sirimau District, Ambon City which serves the Galala - Namlea route. There are two Ro-Ro ships operating on this route with a total of seven trips per day. The distance for the Galala – Namlea traffic crossing is 85 miles. However, the operation of the ship on a fairly long route is not matched by the ideal number of trips so that there is a buildup of vehicles and service users who are not in the right place. The average time needed to sail is 8 hours. This study aims to determine the ship's load factor, to determine ship productivity, and to arrange ship schedules based on the number of ship trips. Then analyzed using several analytical methods to overcome these problems, including load factor analysis, analysis of population and vehicle growth predictions for the next 5 years using simple linear regression, ship frequency analysis, analysis of the need for the number of ships, and scheduling analysis. From this analysis, it can be concluded that the operating ship shows a load factor that exceeds the ideal capacity of the ship, which is 65% where there are conditions that are not proportional to the number of requests for service users and the frequency of existing ships. So it is necessary to add trips and the number of ships to suit the conditions in the field.

Abstract

Compressor is an auxiliary engine that use to produce pressure air. On ship compressor have important role as compressed air generator because this pressure air use for starting main engine and use for control air on the main engine. As one of auxiliary engine so more attention needed for this compressor for the smooth operation of the ship when sailing. The resulting impact of this lack of air pressure is failure at starting system on main engine. So analysis must be done on compressor as the producer of compressed air to find out the cause of this problem. the most influential component to produce compressed air is lp/hp valve. After knowing the cause of the lack of compressed air produced so maintenance must be do to lp/hp vale so compressed air can be produced without problems.

Abstract

Inside the ship's engine room there is one component part, the Centrifugal Pump. At centrifugal pumps often experience a decrease in the performance of a decrease in the capacity of centrifugal pumps which results in mechanical damage to the centrifugal pump impeller and the onset of vibrations all occur due to cavitation on centrifugal pumps. Cavitation is the occurrence of vapor bubbles forming in a liquid that is flowing because the liquid pressure decreases to below the saturated vapor pressure of the liquid at the pump operating temperature. This research was conducted with the aim to find out the cause of the declining performance of centrifugal pump capacity which results in cavitation. Through this applied scientific work can find the cause of the decrease in the capacity of the ship's centrifugal pump and the results will be used as a reference or reference for fellow machinists so that the centrifugal pump on the ship can operate optimally.

Abstract

Branch Port is a river port located in Central Lampung Regency and managed by the Central Lampung Regency Transportation Service. This port connects people who want to cross from Central Lampung Regency to Tulang Bawang Regency and vice versa. Manning Certification serves to find out how many crew members have registered and have met the manning qualifications in accordance with applicable regulations. In this study, researchers used qualitative research with an evaluative descriptive approach to find problems regarding the fulfillment of crewing certification, the obstacles experienced by crew members and what efforts can be made to provide more effective and efficient manning certificate registration services. Currently, the percentage of crew members who have a crewing certificate, which is 100%, has not yet completed a crewing certification. In addition, there were reasons given by the crew in fulfilling the manning certificate, namely 58% said they were rarely checked by officers, 26% did not understand the importance of certificates, 16% did not understand that a certificate of proficiency was mandatory. In addition to the reasons there are obstacles experienced by crew members in making manning certificates, namely 21% said the place of making the certificate was far away, 53% said there was no cost, 26% said there was a lack of information on making manning certificates. Currently, there is no government agency providing manning certificate registration services. So there is a need for a review of the manning of ships in accordance with the Regulation of the Director General of Land Transportation Number KP.3424/AP.402/DRJD/2020 concerning River and Lake Vessels which states that crew members must have a manning certificate. It is very important to provide information and procedures for making certificates, organizing shipping safety training and providing certification services with a Web -based online system.
