Abstract

This study employs a qualitative method, utilizing data from various books and journals. The research examines the impact of COVID-19 on the GDP of ASEAN countries, which showed economic decline in 2020, along with decreased export and import values, increased unemployment, and rising poverty levels. Interestingly, not all Southeast Asian countries with relatively stable economies during the pandemic managed to curb unemployment rates. In Brunei Darussalam, unemployment remained high despite economic stability. The pandemic also affected economic distribution in complex ways, depending on each country's development level and political stability, as seen in Myanmar. The pandemic's impact on poverty levels in ASEAN countries highlights their structural vulnerabilities. Countries with strong social protection systems, such as Vietnam and Malaysia, mitigated the pandemic's effects on people with low incomes more effectively than those with limited protection, like Cambodia and Myanmar. Additionally, reliance on specific economic sectors, such as tourism and the informal sector, significantly influenced vulnerability to the pandemic's impact. To address these challenges, ASEAN has undertaken various efforts to promote economic recovery through comprehensive approaches, including enhancing intra-regional trade, promoting digital transformation, encouraging sustainable development, and strengthening regional cooperation. These strategies aim not only to recover from the pandemic's immediate impact but also to build a more resilient and integrated ASEAN economy for the future.

Abstract

Early financial literacy is an important foundation for developing financial awareness and skills. This program was carried out through the Community Service Program (KKN) at Tunas Kemuning Kindergarten, Kemuning Muda Village, in October 2024. This program aims to introduce basic financial concepts to kindergarten children and improve teacher competency in school financial management. This program uses a multi-method approach, including interviews, interactive socialization, and practical training. The program results showed that children better understood the basics of counting, saving habits, recognition of types of money, and simple financial transactions. Teachers reported increased knowledge of financial management and the ability to apply transparent bookkeeping methods. Although the results were positive, the limited time required to implement the program was a challenge that limited its impact. This program emphasizes the importance of early financial education and teacher training in financial management. Recommendations for future initiatives include extending the duration of the program, integrating financial literacy into the early childhood education curriculum, and involving parents to strengthen learning at home. The uniqueness of this program lies in its community-based approach that combines children's financial literacy education with increasing teacher capacity in financial management.

Abstract

This study aims to determine: 1) The simultaneous influence of vocabulary and grammar mastery on students' ability in recount text. 2) The influence of mastery on students' ability in recount text. 3) The influence of grammar mastery on students' ability in recount text. The method used in this study is a survey with correlational and multiple regression techniques. The population in this study were 550 students of class X SMAS Angkasa 1 Jakarta and SMAS Angkasa 2 Jakarta. The researcher determined the sample in this study with a total of 60 students taken using random sampling. Data collection techniques with multiple choices and assessment rubrics. Data analysis techniques using SPSS 22. The results of the study are 1) There is a significant influence of Vocabulary Mastery and Grammar Mastery simultaneously on the Recount Text Ability of students of Private High Schools in East Jakarta. This is evidenced by the sig value = 0.000 0.05 and F count = 64.971. 2) There is a significant influence of Vocabulary Mastery on the Recount Text Ability of students of Private High Schools in East Jakarta. This is proven by the Sig Value = 0.008 0.05 and t count = 3.823. 3) There is a significant influence of Grammar Mastery on the Recount Text Ability of Private High School Students in East Jakarta. This is proven by the Sig Value = 0.004 0.05 and t count = 3.009.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to find out: (1) How Character Education is Implemented through Religious Culture at Madrasah Aliyah Miftahussalam Medan. (2) To find out the impact of the Implementation of Character Education through Religious Culture at the Miftahussalam Private Madrasah Aliyah Medan. The research methodology used is qualitative, with a focus on case studies. Data collection methods include observation, interviews, documentation. This research aims to describe the implementation of character religious education and its impact in madrasas. Therefore, the main focus of this research is how character education is implemented through religious beliefs. The results of this research show that the implementation of character education through religious culture at Madrasah Aliyah Miftahussalam Medan through religious activities and routine activities is running well. And the impact on students is to improve the spiritual quality of students, namely increasing faith and devotion as well as the values of activities carried out in madrasas which cannot be separated from efforts to get closer to the Creator.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Cooperative Learning method in the subject of Aqidah Akhlak at SMA IT Jabal Noor and its impact on improving students' understanding and character. The Cooperative Learning method was chosen for its ability to encourage student interaction, increase engagement, and deepen material comprehension through group collaboration. This research employs a qualitative approach, utilizing data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, and documentation. The research findings indicate that the implementation of the Cooperative Learning method in the Aqidah Akhlak subject is carried out through several steps, namely forming heterogeneous groups, assigning material discussions, group presentations, and learning reflections. The use of this method has been proven to increase students' active participation, strengthen relationships among students, and facilitate understanding of the moral values being taught. However, there are several challenges, such as differences in students' levels of understanding and time management in group activities. The conclusion of this study suggests that teachers should be more creative in designing Cooperative Learning-based teaching strategies and provide intensive guidance to ensure all students can contribute optimally. Thus, the implementation of this method can bring greater positive impacts on teaching Aqidah Akhlak at SMA IT Jabal Noor.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the use of the Flipped Classroom learning method in enhancing students' active participation in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) at SMP Negeri 1 Sitinjo, as well as to identify its supporting and inhibiting factors. The Flipped Classroom method is an instructional approach that reverses the traditional structure, where students independently study materials at home through videos or reading materials, while classroom time is utilized for discussions, QA sessions, and problem-solving activities. This research employs a qualitative method with a descriptive narrative approach. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation to understand students' perceptions of this method. The findings indicate that implementing the flipped classroom method can enhance students' active participation, both in class discussions and individual assignments. Supporting and inhibiting factors were also identified to provide a comprehensive understanding of the effectiveness of this method.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in shaping students' character at SMK Negeri 8 Medan. Character education is an important aspect in the formation of students' personalities, especially in the school environment. PAI teachers have a strategic responsibility in guiding, instilling moral values, and building students' character based on Islamic principles. The research method used is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques including interviews, observations, and documentation. The research informants include PAI teachers, students, and the school principal. Data were analyzed using qualitative descriptive analysis techniques to identify the strategies applied by teachers in shaping students' character. The results of the study show that PAI teachers at SMK Negeri 8 Medan play a significant role in character building by integrating Islamic values into lessons, offering a personal approach to students, and organizing religious activities such as study groups, congregational prayers, and commemorating Islamic holidays. In addition, the supportive school environment strengthens the teachers' efforts in shaping students' character. This study concludes that the role of PAI teachers is crucial in shaping students' character, not only through classroom teaching but also through role modeling, spiritual approaches, and emotional development. The recommendation of this study is to improve the training and development of PAI teachers' competencies and to strengthen collaboration between schools, parents, and the community in supporting the formation of students' character.

Abstract

Education is the basic right of every child, including orphans and the poor. In the Indonesian context, education not only functions as a means of transferring knowledge, but also as a tool to improve the quality of life (Rahman et al., 2022) and shape the character of the nation's next generation. However, the reality on the ground shows that there are many orphans and poor people who Mas Dompet Dhuafa Waspada as one of the Amil Zakat institutions in North Sumatra has an important role in providing educational assistance for orphans and poor people. Through the various programs it runs, this institution seeks to answer the educational challenges faced by this group. However, along with the increasing need for education and the complexity of existing social problems, the effectiveness of the programs implemented by these institutions needs to be critically evaluated. They face various challenges in getting a decent education. This research aims to analyze the implementation of the education program run by Dompet Dhuafa Waspada and its impact on the education of orphans and poor people in Medan City. By using a qualitative approach, this research is expected to provide in-depth insight into program implementation and the challenges faced by institutions in meeting the educational needs of children who are able to receive it.

Abstract

Kurangnya motivasi belajar siswa didalam kelas, terlihat dari kurangnya antusiaisme mereka dalam menerima pelajaran, kurang memperhatikan Guru saat belajar, dan lebih memilih bermain handphone, jarang hadir di dalam kelas serta dibeberapa kesempatan ada yang tidak masuk kelas karena lebih memilih ikut-ikutan bersama teman-temannya untuk tidak masuk ke kelas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memotret bagaimana kegiatan pembelajaran siswa serta bagaimana penggunaan model pembelajaran Guru di SMA Negeri 4 Kota Gorontalo. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian Kualitatif dengan pendekatan Deskriptif. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa akan termotivasi untuk belajar apabila siswa merasa relevansi materi sesuai dengan kehidupan mereka dan merasa taktif terlibat, dan penggunaan model pembelajaran yang menarik, juga sesuai dengan materi yang diajarkan oleh guru PPkn

Abstract

Indonesia is currently the country with the worlds number one Nickel reserves, according to USGS (United States Geological Survey) records in 2021. Nickel is strategically valuable due to its high demand as a raw material for electric car batteries. However, until 2019, Indonesia exported Nickel only as low-value ore. Then, in 2020, the government banned the export of nickel ores by increasing the number of processing smelters to create more added value, called the downstream policy. Downstream policy requires solid political commitment to improve innovation and Nickel processing technology to improve added value. This study will analyze the commitment of the governments technology and innovation policies to improve the value-added of its natural resources using the Technological State implementation. Indicators of technological state implementation include the governments goal to achieve technological supremacy over other countries, a high level of autonomy for technological institutions, and state institutions that serve to develop new technological advancements. This study uses a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach. Descriptive research was selected to explain the background of the Nickel Downstream policy in the era of President Jokowi and the Technological State analysis, which is needed to improve the added value of natural resources. The results showed that the Nickel Downstream policy needed sufficient technological state implementation from the government to improve its added value.
