Abstract

This article evaluates the implementation of ecotourism-based tourism policies in Indonesia, which is an effort to promote sustainable tourism while conserving natural and cultural resources. This research uses a qualitative approach with literature analysis and case studies to identify the challenges and opportunities faced. The results show that despite the government's commitment to promoting ecotourism, various obstacles such as inadequate infrastructure, lack of understanding of local communities, and negative environmental impacts are still significant challenges. However, the opportunity to develop ecotourism in Indonesia remains great, especially through increased community participation, sustainability promotion, and collaboration between the public and private sectors. These findings are expected to provide recommendations for policymakers in formulating more effective strategies to advance ecotourism-based tourism in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to develop task-based instructional materials (Task-Based Learning/TBL) designed to enhance the critical thinking skills of EFL students in the Extensive Reading course at Universitas Pendidikan Mandalika. The research employs the Research Development (RD) method using the ADDIE model, which includes five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. In the analysis stage, observations and interviews were conducted to assess students' needs. During the development stage, reading materials covering themes such as environmental issues, cultural diversity, and technology were created to promote analytical thinking. Specific tasks included evaluating arguments, comparing perspectives, and synthesizing information from multiple texts. These tasks required students to not only comprehend the material but also apply critical thinking by questioning assumptions and drawing reasoned conclusions. The instructional materials were tested for practicality and used in both experimental and control classes, involving 70 fourth-semester students. Results showed that the materials were highly suitable for classroom use with minor revisions. Post-test results indicated that students in the experimental class demonstrated a significant increase in critical thinking skills, with an average score of 83.3, compared to 71.73 in the control group. These findings suggest that task-based instructional materials are effective in promoting critical thinking and can serve as an innovative tool in Extensive Reading instruction. Future research could explore the long-term effects of task-based learning on critical thinking skills in diverse EFL contexts, as well as investigate the integration of digital tools to further enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.

The University of Islam Malang's Faculty of Medicine conducted cross-sectional descriptive analytic research with 174 eligible students as a sample. The Intelligenz Struktur test was used to assess IQ. The sum of the semester credit hours was used to examine the tes and learning experiences. A questionnaire called the Self-Directed Learning Instrument was used to gauge the level of preparedness for self-directed learning. A p-value less than 0.05 was deemed significant when the data was examined. Out of 135 pupils, 77.6% were very prepared to learn independently, whereas 2 students, or 1.1%, were not at all prepared. kids with high IQ were shown to be 1.1% prepared to learn independently, but kids with low IQ were not at all prepared to do so. Of the pupils surveyed, 63 had high levels of learning experience (46.7%) and 72 had low levels of it (41.4%), indicating a high level of self-directed learning preparation. According to the spearman correlation test, there is a weak link between self-directed learning readiness and both intellectual intelligence and learning experience (r = -0.088 and r = -0.023, respectively). Results from the ordinal logistic regression test showed that IQ had no significant effect on self-directed learning readiness (p = 0.206) and that prior learning experience had no effect on self directed learning readiness (p = 0.855). Intellectual intelligence and learning experience have no effect on students self directed learning readiness.

Abstract

This study explores strategies for optimizing staffing and resource allocation based on nursing workload and patient dependency in healthcare settings. Through a comprehensive literature review of ten selected articles, the research highlights the critical importance of aligning nursing resources with patient needs to enhance patient outcomes and ensure nurse well-being. The findings consistently demonstrate that higher nurse-to-patient ratios and adequate staffing levels are associated with improved patient outcomes, such as reduced mortality rates, fewer patient safety incidents, and enhanced quality of care. Additionally, the review emphasizes the importance of a balanced skill mix and the competencies of the nursing workforce in delivering effective care, particularly in high-dependency environments. The study underscores the need for healthcare organizations to adopt flexible and dynamic staffing models that can adapt to changing patient needs, especially in the context of global healthcare challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic. The research also calls for future studies to explore the impact of technology on staffing optimization and to examine the long-term effects of different staffing strategies on patient outcomes and nurse satisfaction.

The issue of Money Game practices in the MLM business has long been debated among Indonesians, especially about its halalness. Shopee, as one of the largest e-commerce platforms in Southeast Asia, has launched an affiliate program whose system is similar to MLM. This research aims to evaluate the mechanism of Shopee's Affiliate Program based on the perspective of Fatwa DSN MUI No. 75/DSN-MUI/VII: 75/DSN-MUI/VII/2009 on Guidelines for Shari'ah Multi-Level Direct Selling (PLBS).
