Abstract

Indonesia's increasing population, supported by rapid growth of motorized vehicles, poses serious challenges related to traffic congestion and environmental impacts. Geographical factors and economic growth reinforce this trend, especially in large cities such as Surabaya. However, slow road infrastructure development causes severe congestion. This study aims to describe the implementation of the obligation to provide parking tickets in accordance with Surabaya City Regional Regulation number 3 of 2018 in Surabaya City. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method using Jan Merse's theory and indicators. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The results show that the information conveyed by the government and related agencies is quite good through social and print media. However, improvements are still needed in socialization and training to ensure good service to parking service users. In addition, the implementation of the contents of the Regional Regulation policy has not been optimal, especially regarding supervision and proof. Public support for this policy is quite good, but a review of several articles is needed to improve its effectiveness. Coordination between the government, private sector, and the community is the key to the success of implementing this policy. This study concludes that despite progress, there is still room for improvement in the implementation of parking policies in Surabaya City.

Abstract

Horticultural extension services in Bogor are instrumental in promoting agricultural development by enhancing the productivity and sustainability of local horticultural practices. This study emphasizes the empowerment of women farmer groups, known as Kelompok Wanita Tani (KWT), to improve horticultural production through targeted initiatives such as providing essential production facilities and enhancing the skills of farmers and extension officers. Data collection was conducted from July to September 2024, using questionnaires and surveys to assess the knowledge of KWT members before and after extension activities. The results indicated a significant increase in knowledge related to horticultural crop cultivation, with pre-test scores rising from 69% to 87% post-training, demonstrating a 17% improvement (P0.01). This improvement in knowledge and practices is a promising sign for the future of horticultural development. Correlation analysis revealed interesting relationships among agricultural knowledge, educational background, age, and agricultural experience. This research highlights the crucial role of extension services in disseminating knowledge and best practices, ultimately improving the livelihoods of farmers in Bogor and contributing to the local economy.

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of social media on voter behavior during Indonesia's 2024 General Election. Through a qualitative research approach, the study employs semi-structured interviews to gather insights from 30 participants, including voters, social media influencers, and political analysts. The sampling techniques used were purposive and snowball sampling, ensuring a diverse range of respondents actively engaged in political discourse on platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. The research identified two key themes: (1) the democratizing potential of social media, which increases political participation, gives marginalized groups a voice, and facilitates direct engagement between voters and political figures, and (2) the negative consequences of algorithmic biases and the spread of misinformation. These biases contribute to the formation of echo chambers, where users are only exposed to content that aligns with their pre-existing beliefs, and misinformation that undermines public trust in the electoral process. The findings highlight social medias dual role as a tool for enhancing democratic engagement while simultaneously posing significant risks. The study recommends fostering algorithmic transparency, promoting digital literacy programs to help users critically evaluate information, and implementing stronger measures to combat the spread of misinformation. These steps are essential for ensuring that social media remains a positive force in the democratic process while addressing the challenges that can weaken public trust and electoral integrity.

Abstract

The Gayo Lues Regency Government Work Plan (RKPK) is a planning document prepared as a guide for the implementation of the Gayo Lues Regency Budget and Revenue and Expenditure. BAPPEDA as an agency that has the duties, principals and functions of planning regional development in the focus of RKPD planning includes situation analysis, formulation of vision, mission and objectives, identification of programs and activities, budgeting, public consultation and approval. This research aims to analyze the performance of BAPPEDA in the process of preparing the RKPK and the factors that influence the process of preparing it. The theory used is the Organizational Performance theory according to Agus Dwiyanto with indicators of productivity, responsiveness and accountability. The research method uses a qualitative approach. The research results show that the performance of BAPPEDA Gayo Lues in the RKPK preparation process is still not optimal, this is due to the implementation of the RKPK preparation from preparation to completion not being on time, as well as inconsistencies between the RKPK and the KUA/PPAS and the RAPBD. In the productivity aspect, it is known that BAPPEDA's performance greatly determines the success in preparing the District Development Work Plan. The problem that occurs is the RKPK not being completed on time according to the specified targets. Factors that influence BAPPEDA's responsiveness include human resources, sufficient budget and collaboration with stakeholders. by external factors such as political intervention which results in a lack of transparency and affects public accountability. The internal factor that influences the performance of BAPPEDA Gayo Lues Regency is that the number of human resources who are expert planners is still very minimal and the workload is not balanced with the number of human resources, while the external factor that influences the performance of BAPPEDA Gayo Lues Regency is the influence of political bureaucracy in preparing the RKPK which also influences the inconsistency of the RKPK
