Abstract

This study examines the Islamic legal thinking of the two largest Islamic mass organizations in Indonesia, namely Muhammadiyah and Nahdlatul Ulama. Muhammadiyah’s Islamic legal thinking is modernist in nature, emphasizing rational ijtihad based on the Qur’an and Sunnah and making modern science a consideration in carrying out transformation and establishing law through the Majelis Tarjih and Tajdid forum. Meanwhile, Nahdlatul Ulama is more traditional in nature, emphasizing the importance of preserving the classical fiqh treasury (turats) through the qauli and manhāji methods in the Bahtsul Masa'il forum. By using a literature study approach method by examining relevant data sources, this study found that Muhammadiyah and Nahdlatul Ulama have different constructions and patterns of Islamic legal thinking, but have the same orientation, namely realizing Islamic law that is able to adapt, dialogue and respond to the challenges of the times. In addition, the diversity of approaches of both of them is an intellectual wealth and a treasure of Indonesian Islam that is relevant to answering the challenges of the times.

Abstract

The representation of women in electoral management bodies is a critical issue in achieving inclusive and gender-equitable democracy. Although national regulations such as Law No. 7 of 2017 and Bawaslu Regulation No. 4 of 2022 mandate a minimum 30% quota for women in election committees, implementation at the regional level remains challenging.  This study aims to analyze the extent of women’s involvement in the District Election Supervisory Committees (Panwascam) during the 2024 General Election in Ponorogo Regency and to identify the barriers that hinder the fulfillment of the mandated quota. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method using a case study approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, field observations, and document analysis. The analytical framework is based on Hanna Pitkin’s theory of political representation, which includes four dimensions: formal, descriptive, symbolic, and substantive representation. The findings reveal that women’s representation in Panwascam in Ponorogo Regency only reached 9.5%. Major obstacles include low pass rates in the Computer Assisted Test (CAT), lack of gender-oriented political education, and deeply rooted patriarchal cultural norms. This limited representation has also resulted in weak substantive contributions from women in the electoral oversight process. This study recommends strengthening affirmative recruitment policies, expanding political education for women, and providing robust social and institutional support to enhance women’s participation in future electoral management.

Abstract

The background for the author to discuss this is because of the decline in sales levels in 2020-2023, which was caused by the lack of product innovation in Sanjai Jaso Mandeh crackers, limited flavor variants and unattractive packaging designs, and high competition with similar businesses. As one of the traditional Minang snack products, Sanjai Jaso Mandeh crackers have great potential to be of interest to tourists as a typical Minangkabau souvenir. Therefore, the purpose of the researcher in conducting this research is to find out what kind of product strategy can be applied to increase sales in the Sanjai Jaso Mandeh cracker business in increasing sales in its business from a sharia business management perspective. The type of research that the author uses is field research using qualitative research methods, the data collection techniques that the author uses are through interviews, observation and documentation, the data analysis techniques used are SWOT analysis, internal factor evaluation (IFE) matrix analysis, SWOT matrix, and Score weighting. The results of the research conducted in the field can be concluded that the owner must increase product variations and improve the packaging design that is less attractive, in addition, the stage of the function of sharia business management, especially strategic planning, also needs to be maximized so that the main strengths of the Sanjai Jaso Mandeh cracker product such as its distinctive taste and strategic location can be utilized optimally to increase sales of Sanjai Jaso Mandeh crackers.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the role of humans as stewards (khalifah) on Earth from the perspective of the hadiths of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and its implications for ecological awareness. Using a literature review approach, this research analyzes a number of hadiths related to the environment that reflect the Prophet’s concern for nature. The findings reveal that these hadiths contain important messages about environmental preservation, prohibitions against causing destruction, and calls for frugality and care for other living beings. The concept of khalifah in Islam positions humans as bearers of Allah’s trust to care for and manage the Earth with principles of justice, balance, and sustainability. This study affirms that Islamic environmental ethics are highly relevant as both a theological and practical foundation for addressing the current global ecologica lcrisis.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze employee productivity in utilizing technology to enhance task effectiveness at the Department of Education, Youth, and Sports of Badung Regency. The use of information technology in government workplaces is a crucial aspect in supporting performance and achieving organizational goals. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach to provide an in-depth description of employees’ experiences, perceptions, and challenges in integrating technology into daily work processes. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, direct observations, and document analysis. The findings indicate that most employees have utilized technologies such as data processing software, online communication platforms, and internal information systems to support task completion. However, there are still obstacles, including limited training, difficulty adapting to technological changes, and unequal access to digital infrastructure. The study concludes that productivity improvements through technology can be optimized with continuous training, adaptive internal policies, and strengthened digital infrastructure.

Abstract

In the era of competitive industry and organizational identity, companies have increasingly required employees to contribute not only through their tasks but also by supporting the company’s public image, a practice known as employee branding. However, in Indonesia, there is currently no specific legal regulation that governs the legal obligation of workers to perform employee branding, creating legal ambiguity and potential conflict between workers and employers. This paper aims to analyze the legal consequences for employees who do not fulfill employee branding duties and to examine the regulatory gap in Indonesian labor law regarding this issue. The research adopts a qualitative normative method using library research by reviewing statutory regulations, legal principles, and related literature. The findings show that the absence of explicit legal norms in Law Number 13 of 2003 concerning Manpower and other labor-related regulations causes companies to rely on internal policies, which may not always align with workers’ fundamental rights such as privacy and freedom of expression. Legal consequences for non-compliance vary depending on contractual clauses, ranging from verbal warnings to termination of employment, though such sanctions must be legally grounded to avoid unlawful labor practices. This study recommends that employee branding be regulated under clear legal instruments such as Ministerial Regulations, contractual clauses, and collective labor agreements (PKB), while ensuring the participation of labor unions and ethical considerations. A balance between company interests and workers’ rights is crucial to prevent legal disputes and to implement employee branding as a fair and constructive organizational strategy.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the religious mindset of Islamic leaders impacting community thinking in Haidar Musyaffa Dahlan novel and Aguk Irawan MN Penakluk badai and novels of relevance analysis. This research is a qualitative research descriptive presentation of data. Data obtained through literature study method. The novel Storm Conqueror by Aguk Irawan MN is the main character in the founding of NU. On the other hand, this novel explains the closeness of his harmonious relationship with Kiai Ahmad Dahlan who is the founder of Muhammadiyah. The data in this study were analyzed by describing the mindsets of Islamic religious leaders having an impact on people’s thinking in the novels Dahlan by Haidar Musyaffa and Peconluk Hurricane by Aguk Irawan MN and their relevance.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of office management in improving the quality of student administration at MTs Laboratorium UINSU. Office management is an essential element in supporting the smooth operation of administrative processes, including student data management, correspondence, and information services. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that the application of office management principles—such as work planning, task organization, supervision of administrative activities, and the use of information technology—can enhance the efficiency and accuracy of student administrative management. Therefore, effective implementation of office management has a positive impact on student administrative services at MTs Laboratorium UINSU.

Abstract

Digital transformation in the administration sector is an urgent need in the modern era, especially in terms of managing correspondence. This study aims to develop a digital administration information system that can improve service efficiency and information security in an organizational environment. Manual paper-based systems often cause various obstacles such as delays, data loss, and potential information leaks. The digital information system developed uses a centralized database, encryption, user authentication, and automatic notifications to support process efficiency. It is also equipped with mail tracking features, electronic archives, and role-based access control. This study also highlights system integration with other platforms such as financial and personnel systems to strengthen the organization’s digital ecosystem. The results of the system development show significant improvements in service speed, information security, and transparency in document management.

Abstract

This study aims to know the effectiveness of self-control techniques in decreasing online gaming addiction in a college student. Using the Single Subject Research (SSR) method with an A–B design and a follow-up phase, this study focused on observation of subjects’ gradual changes in behavior through three phases: baseline, intervention, and follow-up. The subjects were selected through purposive sampling techniques based on the criteria of online game addiction according to the theoretical indicators of Chen Chang (2008) as well as Lemmens et al. (2016). The intervention was conducted through self-control techniques for 10 days, accompanied by the use of self-monitoring and behavioral contracts. The study results showed there was a decrease in game playing duration from an average of 3 hours 26 minutes/day in the baseline phase to 1 hour 22 minutes/day in the follow-up phase. Additionally, subjects showed improvements in managing stress more adaptively, a decrease in impulse play, and awareness of the negative impact of addiction. These findings indicate that self-control techniques are effective in modifying online gaming addiction behaviors, as well as supporting the development of preventive strategies against digital addictive behaviors among college students.
