Abstract

This study aims to produce a module to improve students' mathematical literacy. This study is a Research and Development (R&D) using the ADDIE model which includes: (1) analysis, (2) design, (3) development, (4) implementation, and (5) evaluation. The subjects in this study were 20 students of class VIIIE of SMP Negeri 02 Wuluhan. The instruments used were a module validity questionnaire, a module practicality questionnaire, and an effectiveness test device in the form of pre-test and post-test questions. The results of the pre-test and post-test were tested using the paired sample t-test. The results showed that the module achieved an average validity of 93.7% (very valid), and a practicality of 98.47% (very practical). The Paired Sample T-Test showed a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test results (sig. 0.000 <0.05) with an increase in mathematical literacy scores of 33.57. So, it can be concluded that the module is valid, practical, and effective in improving students' mathematical literacy.

Abstract

This study serves as a reference to understand that teachers have access to a variety of instructional media that can be optimally utilized in teaching poetry writing at the elementary level. It highlights how digitalization in education requires teachers to continuously innovate in their teaching practices. The appropriate use of media makes the process of learning poetry writing more accessible and easier to grasp. These media tools assist students in interpreting the meaning conveyed through various forms of content. With the support of media, students are able to compose poems in a more systematic and structured manner. The teacher's role in delivering the material also plays a crucial part in ensuring the smooth flow of the learning process. Integrating media into poetry instruction creates a fresh and engaging learning environment for students, moving beyond textbooks or methods that may be difficult to comprehend. This research adopts a qualitative descriptive method, using literature review from a range of relevant articles to support the investigation.

This article uses descriptive qualitative research methods with reading and note-taking techniques. The results of this article are 21 data that show the majas sindiran, namely 3 majas cynisme, 7 majas sarcasm, 5 majas irony, 3 majas satire, and 3 majas innuendo. Thus, the most dominating sarcasm in the poem entitled Sajak Sebatang Lisong by WS. Rendra is sarcasm. In the world of education, especially literary education, style is important in shaping distinctive characteristics, character, ethics, and critical thinking. Style distinguishes one writer from another. Therefore, language style plays a role in the world of education, just as language plays a crucial role in various fields, including education, politics, society, and economics. Through language style, particularly satirical figures of speech, one can reveal a person's character and ethics in satire. A person may satirize subtly or directly. This reveals a person's character and ethics, which are reflected through the language style they use. In addition, style can train critical thinking through the language it uses. Poetry, for example, requires critical thinking to understand its meaning because of its dense use of language.

Abstract

This study analyses research trends regarding students' learning motivation and cognitive development in Southeast Asia from 2014 to 2024 using bibliometric analysis. The study examines the necessity for an in-depth comprehension of the growth of educational psychology in this crucial location through the analysis of publishing trends, cooperation networks, and theme advancements. Employing quantitative bibliometric technique, data were gathered from the Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar databases utilising systematic keyword combinations pertinent to learning motivation, cognitive development, and Southeast Asian nations. The investigation included co-occurrence mapping, temporal visualisation, and theme grouping with VOSviewer software. The findings indicate five primary thematic clusters that embody different theoretical views, illustrating a paradigmatic transition from neurobiological approaches (2014-2016) to contextual-pedagogical themes (2017-2019), ultimately leading to themes of digital-pandemic adaptability (2020-2024). The research delineates the confluence of Self-Determination Theory, Piaget's cognitive development theory, Vygotsky's social constructivism, and executive function theory into a cohesive framework. Prominent topics encompass cultural backdrop, linguistic development, and socioeconomic considerations, illustrating the distinctive complexity of Southeast Asia. The research illustrates the evolution from disparate disciplinary methods to a cohesive multi-theoretical framework, integrating achievement goal theory with growth mindset and the Technology Acceptance Model with self-regulated learning theory. These findings underscore the need for culturally sensitive and technology-enhanced educational techniques that utilise advancements in neuroscience and digital technologies to optimise student learning outcomes in the different socio-cultural contexts of Southeast Asia.

Abstract

Differences in students' resilience levels are very important, especially when facing difficulties in solving problems. The relationship between brain dominance and mathematical resilience, as well as the different ways of thinking of the two hemispheres of the brain, requires research on mathematical resilience based on brain dominance. In addition, research on mathematical resilienci based on brain dominance has not been conducted. The purpose of this study was to obtain a picture of mathematical resilience in terms of brain dominance. The research method used was qualitative with a descriptive exploratory approach. The instruments used were a mathematical resilience questionnaire, a brain dominance test, and an unstructured interview. The subject of this study were 3 subjects who met the criteria consisting of 1 subject with left brain dominance, 1 subject with balanced brain dominance, and 1 subject with right brain dominance. The results of the mathematical resilience study based on brain dominance were that left brain dominance students met all the measured indicators, balanced brain dominance students met 4 measured aspects and 2 aspects were not met, and right brain dominance students met all measured indicators.

Abstract

In this research, using the Five-Tier Diagnostic Test aims to determine the level of students' ability in solving HOTS type questions on circle material, find out the types of students' mathematical misconceptions in solving HOTS type questions on circle material, and find out the factors that can cause mathematical misconceptions. student. This research method is descriptive quantitative with a case study research design on class VIII students of SMPN 1 Gunung Jati, where the research is more focused on analyzing students' mathematics misconceptions. Data collection techniques include tests and interviews. Meanwhile, data analysis techniques use interactive models. The research results showed that the level of students' ability in solving HOTS type questions on circle material was in the category of understanding the concept, not understanding the concept, and misconceptions. The types of misconceptions experienced by students are correlational misconceptions, classificational misconceptions, and theoretical misconceptions. Internal factors can be caused by students themselves, because students do not try to repeat learning, do not study sources other than the school handbook, and do not try to practice questions other than those given by the teacher. Meanwhile, external factors can come from teachers, textbooks and learning media.

Abstract

This study describes how loose parts media can enhance the fine motor skills of 4–5-year-old children at RA Sakila Kerti. Using a qualitative case study approach, the research involved direct observation and interviews with teachers. Initially, many children faced difficulties in fine motor tasks, such as pinching small items, gluing, and arranging patterns. However, after participating in loose parts activities like sorting bottle caps, threading straws, and creating collages, children showed significant improvement. They became more skilled in finger control, better focused, and more confident. These activities also encouraged positive social interaction, as children shared materials and helped each other. Teachers played an important role as facilitators, guiding children without limiting their freedom to explore. Loose parts activities support contextual learning and align with the principles of the Merdeka Curriculum. The study concludes that loose parts are not only effective in stimulating fine motor skills but also promote creativity, critical thinking, and independence. These findings provide valuable insights for early childhood educators in designing engaging and meaningful learning activities that support holistic development. Incorporating loose parts into daily learning fosters curiosity and exploration, laying a solid foundation for children’s future academic and life readiness.
