Abstract

This study examines the factors influencing audit report lag (ARL), focusing on the impact of earning volatility (EV), audit quality (KA), and the moderating role of auditor industry specialization. Using secondary data from non-consumer goods companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) from 2019 to 2022, 52 observations were selected through purposive sampling. Results show that EV negatively and significantly affects ARL (coefficient = -12.641, p = 0.043), while KA has no significant effect (coefficient = -6.102, p = 0.7350). Additionally, auditor industry specialization does not moderate the relationships between EV and ARL (coefficient = 5.623, p = 0.520) or KA and ARL (coefficient = 4.677, p = 0.876). These findings highlight the importance of earnings volatility in reducing ARL and suggest that audit quality and auditor specialization play limited roles. The study provides insights for improving financial reporting timeliness and recommends future research to expand sample coverage and refine measurement proxies.

Abstract

Knowledge management is a crucial aspect of organizational success in the knowledge-based economy. Unlike information that is only data and facts, knowledge includes perspectives, concepts, and methods that provide added value. This study highlights the importance of knowledge management in higher education, including the acquisition, documentation, transfer, creation, and application of knowledge. Although institutions are active in acquiring knowledge through professional networks and research, reliance on traditional references hinders digital transformation. The lack of structured documentation risks hampering knowledge retention and transfer. Existing knowledge sharing strategies need to be strengthened with internal seminars and group discussions to be more systematic. In addition, the decentralization of innovation and projects requires better coordination through centralized sharing platforms and cross-departmental collaboration. To increase effectiveness, institutions are advised to adopt formal knowledge sharing programs, develop digital repositories, and balance traditional and digital resources to support more optimal learning and innovation.

Abstract

This paper investigates the negative effects of social media on mental health, social interactions, and democratic processes, focusing on studies conducted between 2016 and 2023. The purpose of this research is to explore the various ways in which social media platforms contribute to issues like anxiety, depression, addiction, misinformation, and the decline in face-to-face communication. A systematic review methodology was employed, analyzing academic databases and peer-reviewed articles to identify the impact of social media on individuals and society. The results highlight how excessive use of social media exacerbates mental health problems, particularly in adolescents and young adults, fosters addiction, and promotes distorted views of reality, leading to body image issues and self-esteem concerns. Additionally, the study found that social media contributes to political polarization and misinformation, influencing public opinion and behaviors. In conclusion, the paper emphasizes the need for mitigating strategies, such as promoting digital literacy, supporting mental health awareness, and regulating content. These findings underscore the necessity of responsible social media use and further research to address its long-term societal effects.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the role of spirituality in the completion of psychosocial developmental tasks of the elderly at the stage of integrity versus hopelessness as described in Erik Erikson's theory. A qualitative approach with a phenomenological design was used to understand the meaning of the spiritual experiences of the elderly living in Wisma Harapan Asri. Data collection techniques were conducted through semi-structured interviews and observation, then analyzed using thematic analysis techniques. The results of the thematic analysis show that spirituality plays an important role in achieving self-integrity, as seen from self-acceptance, wisdom, meaning of life, and readiness to face death. Participants indicated that the practice of worship, closeness to God, and reflection on the meaning of life helped them manage physical limitations, feelings of loneliness, and existential uncertainty. The findings confirm that spirituality is not just a religious activity, but a foundation of psychological resilience that strengthens older adults' mental well-being and acceptance of the past and end of life. This study contributes to gerontological psychology by emphasizing the importance of psychospiritual interventions in supporting older adults in institutional settings.

Abstract

Marriage in the lives of members of the Indonesian National Police (Polri) is not merely a legal and emotional bond, but also a component of a social system that influences professional stability and institutional performance. To address domestic issues such as divorce, the National Police established the Marriage, Divorce, and Referral Advisory Auxiliary Agency (BP4R), which aims to provide premarital counseling and mediation. This study adopts an empirical legal (socio-legal) approach, combining a statute-based analysis and a sociological approach. Data collection methods include non-participatory observation, semi-structured interviews, and document analysis, conducted at the North Maluku Regional Police Headquarters from January to March 2024. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, involving data reduction, presentation, and conclusion/verification. Findings indicate that BP4R plays a vital role in reducing divorce rates through premarital counseling and mediation. Methods such as lectures, discussions, and individual counseling have helped prepare couples for the realities of married life in the context of police duties. However, its effectiveness remains limited due to short counseling durations, a lack of professional staff (e.g., psychologists), and a perceived formality of the process by some participants. BP4R has had a positive impact on the psychological and administrative readiness of couples prior to marriage, despite the relatively high divorce rate (19.76% in 2024). Strengthening the program’s duration, methods, human resources, and post-session evaluations is essential to enhance the long-term effectiveness and sustainability of BP4R.
