Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between nutritional status and physical fitness level of class X students at SMK Satu Nusa 2. The study used a correlational quantitative approach with data collection techniques through tests and direct measurements. The results of the Shapiro-Wilk normality test showed that the nutritional status and physical fitness data were normally distributed. The regression linearity test (ANOVA) shows that the relationship between the two is linear. Pearson correlation analysis found a very strong and significant negative relationship between nutritional status and physical fitness level. This means that the higher the nutritional status of students (especially those categorized as obese), the lower their physical fitness level. This finding emphasizes the importance of maintaining a balanced nutritional status to improve the quality of physical fitness in school-age adolescents. This study is expected to serve as a basis for designing appropriate nutrition and exercise programs in the school environment.

Abstract

This study explores the representation of transcendental themes in the music video Stuck in the Middle by K-pop girl group BABYMONSTER using Charles Sanders Peirce’s semiotic framework. Through qualitative analysis, six visually rich scenes were examined to uncover how signs—icons, indexes, and symbols—convey deeper meanings related to self-reflection, emotional isolation, aspiration, and the human connection with the cosmos. The research finds that visual elements such as cosmic landscapes, symbolic colors, lighting contrasts, and fantasy-inspired settings serve as metaphors for emotional and spiritual journeys. These scenes construct a layered narrative that combines fantasy aesthetics with existential themes, reinforcing K-pop’s capacity to deliver profound messages beyond entertainment. By analyzing these transcendental signifiers, the study highlights the role of visual semiotics in shaping the cultural and philosophical depth of Korean popular music in a global context.

Abstract

In the context of globalization, the Korean language has emerged as a strategic asset in Indonesia, especially in labor mobility, academic exchange, and cultural diplomacy. This study explores how Korean language education enhances Indonesia–South Korea relations by enabling Indonesian workers to access employment through the Employment Permit System (EPS) and facilitating academic opportunities via scholarships and university partnerships. The Korean Wave (Hallyu) further fuels interest in the language, especially among youth, aligning cultural fascination with professional aspirations. Despite its growing prominence, challenges such as unequal access, limited qualified teachers, and high costs hinder equitable implementation. By adopting a qualitative methodology and analyzing secondary data, this paper argues for stronger policy support, digital solutions, and bilateral cooperation to expand language education. Ultimately, Korean language learning fosters mutual understanding, soft power, and long-term collaboration between Indonesia and South Korea.

Abstract

Since the enactment of Law No. 6 of 2014 on Villages, the Indonesian government has placed significant emphasis on village development through the allocation of Village Funds. However, its management still faces various challenges, both in terms of regulation and implementation. This study aims to analyze the economic law perspective on Village Fund management in terms of efficiency and transparency and to formulate an ideal concept. The research method used is normative juridical. The findings indicate: (1) The economic law analysis of Village Fund management includes its juridical basis, efficiency from an economic law perspective, transparency as a principle of state financial governance, and the ideal construction of economic law; (2) The ideal concept of Village Fund management requires result-oriented and budget-efficient regulations, transparency as a community right, a strengthened sanction system to ensure compliance, and regulatory reconstruction to make law an active instrument in supporting village welfare. Through an economic law approach, the weaknesses of the current legal system can be addressed, enabling Village Funds to become an effective and equitable development instrument.

Abstract

The advancement of information technology has driven land administration reform through the implementation of electronic certificates by the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN). While this innovation aims to improve efficiency and transparency, it raises new legal issues, particularly regarding legal protection for certificate holders in cases of data misuse, system hacking, or ownership disputes. This study analyzes the available legal protections for electronic certificate holders and identifies regulatory weaknesses and implementation challenges in the electronic land system. The research employs a normative juridical method with legislative and conceptual approaches, supported by a literature review of regulations, legal doctrines, and related literature on the digitization of state documents. The findings reveal that although electronic certificates are legally recognized under ATR/BPN Regulation No. 1 of 2021, No. 3 of 2023, and the ITE Law, the mechanisms for protecting rights holders remain inadequate. There is no clear recovery procedure in cases of data manipulation or system failures, nor a dedicated compensation system or specialized dispute resolution body. The study recommends reforming digital land policies through regulatory strengthening, cybersecurity integration, and institutional capacity building to ensure comprehensive land rights protection in the digital era.

Abstract

This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach to explore international students’ perceptions of kimchi. While many students are introduced to kimchi through Hallyu media or globalized Korean restaurants prior to arrival, their direct encounters in South Korea often reshape or challenge these expectations. Drawing on cultural discourse analysis and interview data, the research examines both the symbolic and sensory dimensions of kimchi. As a UNESCO-recognized cultural heritage, kimchi embodies resilience, collectivism, and Korean identity, yet its pungency and spiciness can pose challenges to adaptation. The findings suggest that food is not merely a source of sustenance but a cultural text that mediates identity, belonging, and diplomacy. By addressing both empirical and theoretical gaps in intercultural research, this study demonstrates that kimchi functions simultaneously as a cultural bridge and a boundary marker, underscoring the centrality of food in education and cultural diplomacy.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to identify and interpret signs of Chinese culture as manifested in the character of Jessica Huang. This study utilizes a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through a comprehensive analysis of all 13 episodes from the first season of the series. Using Fiske’s three-level semiotic framework, reality, representation, and ideology, the study examines how cultural signs are encoded through Jessica’s actions, language, clothing, and behavioral traits. Specific attention is given to cultural elements such as traditional utensils, attire, rituals, beliefs, linguistic features, communication styles, and frugality, as portrayed in the episodes. Findings indicate that Jessica Huang embodies both authentic cultural expressions and recurring stereotypes, contributing to a complex portrayal of Chinese culture in the American media landscape. The study underscores the role of television in constructing cultural meaning and demonstrates the value of semiotic analysis in unpacking the layered representations within popular media texts.

Abstract

This article examines how the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), treated as an organization rather than a mere aggregate, can catalyze Global South leadership in economic development. Building on Said’s Orientalism, Santos’s Epistemologies of the South, and Global South IR (Tickner & Smith), the study uses a qualitative literature review with meta-synthesis. Findings indicate a three-tier role: (1) at the level of values, the Shanghai Spirit advances solidarity and equality, shifting development discourse from Western universals to epistemic plurality; (2) at the level of instruments, initiatives such as a development bank signal an intra-South financing ecology less dependent on conditionalities; and (3) at the level of norms, the coalition diffuses best practices and broadens security–development. Conceptually, the coalition functions as a decolonial “contact zone,” translating local experience into standards and enabling leadership rather than coercive dominance. Implications include governance and metrics beyond GDP; limitations include reliance on secondary sources and the need for empirical tests.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze librarians' perspectives on the influence of collection shelving on the effectiveness of the information retrieval system at the Sriwijaya State Polytechnic Library. Collection shelving is a fundamental activity in library management that serves to facilitate users in efficiently retrieving library materials. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that librarians consider good collection shelving to have a significant impact on the speed and accuracy of information retrieval. However, there are still obstacles such as limited human resources, inconsistency in shelving activities, and low awareness among library users in maintaining the tidiness of the shelves. Therefore, more effective collection shelving strategies and continuous education for users are needed so that the information retrieval process can be optimized.
