Abstract

Sleep is a fundamental physiological need that supports adolescents’ cognitive, emotional, and physical development. However, poor sleep quality remains common among adolescents and may be influenced by biological factors such as chronotype. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between chronotype and sleep quality among adolescents at SMA Negeri 8 Jambi City. A quantitative cross-sectional design was used with 103 students selected through stratified random sampling. Chronotype was measured using the Morningness–Eveningness Questionnaire (MEQ), while sleep quality was assessed using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI). Data were analyzed using univariate and Chi-square tests. The results showed that most respondents had an intermediate chronotype (54.4%) and poor sleep quality (61.2%). Statistical analysis indicated a significant relationship between chronotype and sleep quality (p = 0.020; Cramer’s V = 0.276). Adolescents with evening chronotype tended to experience poorer sleep quality compared with those with morning chronotype.

Abstract

This study aims to identify feed composition and analyze the Frequency of Occurrence (FO) of both natural and artificial feed in the digestive tract of Nile tilapia. The research employed a quantitative descr iptive approach with purposive sampling techniques, in which 40 fish (150–300 g) were collected from four geographical locations (North, South, East, and West). The digestive tract contents were preserved using 4% formalin and identified using a binocular microscope (10×–40× magnification). The results revealed a broad dietary spectrum consisting of 20 taxa, dominated by Bacillariophyceae, Chlorophyceae, Zygnematophyceae, Cyanobacteria, and Zooplankton. Four taxa exhibit ted an absolute FO value of 100%: Nitzschia sp., Chlorella sp., Microcy stis sp., and Brachionus sp., while pellet fragments showed a relatively low FO value of only 10%. The presence of periphytic organisms (Epithe mia sp., Navicula sp.) and benthic mites (Hydrachnidia sp.) indicates active grazing behavior of fish on the floating net cage structures. The consistent presence of Microcystis sp. acts as a bioindicator of eutrophic ation in Danau Batur. Concludes that Nile tilapia cultured in floating net cages still significantly utilize natural feed resources, thereby providing opportunities to improve the efficiency of artificial feeding management.

Abstract

Adolescence is a transitional period characterized by rapid physical and psychological development, including the onset of menstruation. Dysmenorrhea is a common problem among adolescent girls and can negatively affect daily activities, academic performance, and quality of life. In Indonesia, menstrual pain remains highly prevalent, as reported by the World Health Organization globally and supported by local studies. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of video and leaflet educational media in improving knowledge and attitudes regarding self-medication for dysmenorrhea using turmeric and tamarind herbal medicine. A quasi-experimental pretest–posttest control group design was conducted at SMP Negeri 11 Jambi City, Jambi City, Indonesia. Results showed that both media significantly improved knowledge, while no significant difference was found in attitude change between groups. Educational interventions effectively enhance adolescents’ understanding of dysmenorrhea management.

Abstract

Breast cancer is a major global and national health problem, including among adolescents. Early detection through Breast Self-Examination (BSE/SADARI) is recommended to improve early diagnosis and prevention. This study aimed to analyze the effect of BSE education on knowledge and motivation among female students at SMP Negeri 11 Jambi City. A quantitative pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest–posttest approach was used. The sample consisted of 40 students selected using stratified sampling. Data were collected using validated and reliable questionnaires and analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The results showed a significant increase in knowledge (p = 0.000) and motivation (p = 0.000) after BSE education. The findings indicate that BSE education effectively improves students’ knowledge and motivation, supporting early breast cancer awareness among adolescents.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the compliance of the Shopee PayLater service with Islamic economic principles in digital credit practices. Shopee PayLater is a form of Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) service that offers payment convenience to the public. The financing volume reached IDR 62.17 trillion as of March 2024. This research employs a qualitative approach with descriptive methods and literature studies. The findings reveal that the Shopee PayLater system does not fully align with sharia principles due to the presence of riba, applied through a fixed interest rate of 2.95% and a late payment penalty of 5%, as well as the absence of a clear contract (akad), indicating elements of gharar. Moreover, this service negatively impacts users' consumptive behavior, especially among university students, and diverts from the objectives of maqashid shariah, such as preserving wealth (hifz al-mal) and intellect (hifz al-‘aql). Therefore, a transformation of the PayLater digital financial system is needed toward a sharia-compliant model with clear contractual terms and free from interest.
