Abstract

A document is a written or printed document that can serve as evidence or information, such as a birth certificate, marriage certificate, or other document. Data recorded at the Batu Brak Community Health Center (UPTD) in West Lampung Regency, from January to April 2024, recorded 39 (0.19%) incidents of misfiling medical record documents out of a total of 2,016 medical record documents. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between healthcare worker performance and the incidence of misfiling medical record documents. The results showed that the highest percentage of healthcare workers' performance was poor (36, 59%), while 21 (41.0%) performed well. 37 (60.7%) did not misfiled medical record documents. However, for those who did misfiled, there was a relationship between healthcare worker performance and the incidence of misfiling medical record documents (p value = 0.026). It is recommended that the community health center further improve and maintain the performance of health workers, especially in carrying out their duties as medical records officers, so that they can properly maintain and store medical record documents.

Abstract

Mothers' lack of knowledge about child development disorders in Indonesia reaches approximately 7.51% of the population. Based on the results of the 2022 SSGI (Student Health Survey), growth and development problems in West Lampung Regency reached 16.6% of toddlers, and in 2024, eight toddlers were recorded with growth and development problems at the Sekincau Community Health Center. This is due to mothers' inadequate knowledge and skills regarding early detection of growth and development. The impact of this lack of knowledge on early detection of growth and development can result in deviations in growth, development, and mental and emotional well-being. Motion graphic media is an effective approach to health promotion, particularly in the context of counseling on early detection of toddler growth and development. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of health promotion using motion graphic video media on mothers' knowledge regarding early detection of toddler growth and development, according to the minimum standards of the integrated health service post (Posyandu) in Giham, Sukamaju Hamlet. The results of the study showed that there was an increase in the average score of maternal knowledge in the pre-test of 41.25 with a standard deviation of 8.814 while the average score in the post-test was 78.19 with a standard deviation of 8.380. The results of the statistical analysis showed a significant average difference between the Pre-Test and Post-Test scores of maternal knowledge with a significance value of p-value 0.000 which means the p-value <0.05 which indicates the effectiveness of using motion graphic video media in increasing maternal knowledge. The suggestion of this study is that motion graphic media is effective for use as a health promotion medium.

Abstract

The primary causes of diabetes are genetic factors and an unhealthy lifestyle. Many other factors also influence diabetes, such as social environment and use of healthcare services. Diabetes is a chronic disease that does not immediately cause death, but can have serious consequences if left untreated. One cause of increased blood sugar levels is dietary habits. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between daily dietary habits and the increased blood sugar levels of the elderly at the Sukabumi Buay Bahuga Way Kanan Community Health Center. This study was a quantitative analytical study with a cross-sectional design. The population was all 181 elderly people aged 60 years and older registered at the Sukabumi Buay Bahuga Way Kanan Community Health Center, resulting in a sample size of 124. The sampling technique used in this study was purposive sampling. Based on the results of univariate analysis, it is known that most respondents have normal blood sugar levels amounting to 65 respondents (52.4%) and most respondents have bad eating habits amounting to 70 respondents (56.5%). Based on the results of statistical tests, a p-value of 0.001 or p-value <0.05 or Ha is accepted, which means there is a Relationship Between Daily Eating Habits and Increased Blood Sugar Levels in Elderly People with Diabetes Mellitus at the Sukabumi Buay Bahuga Way Kanan Health Center. This research can increase awareness, access, and quality of health services, as well as empower the elderly to play an active role in maintaining their own health.

Abstract

Family support plays a crucial role in the hypertension treatment process, ensuring optimal care (Prihatin et al., 2020). This support ensures that elderly individuals receive more attention and supervision, thereby minimizing complications. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between family support and patient adherence to hypertension medication therapy at the Sukabumi Buay Bahuga Community Health Center in 2024. This quantitative study used an analytical survey design with a cross-sectional approach. The population of this study was 206, resulting in a sample size of 135 individuals. Purposive sampling was used as the sampling technique. Univariate analysis revealed that the majority of respondents (50 respondents (37.0%) had low medication adherence, and 62 respondents (45.9%) received insufficient family support. Based on the statistical test results, a p-value of 0.845 was obtained, or p-value > 0.05, indicating that Ho is not accepted. This means there is no relationship between family support and medication adherence in hypertension patients at the Sukabumi Buay Bahuga Community Health Center. This study can help identify the family support needs of hypertension patients to improve their medication adherence. This can provide valuable insights for healthcare professionals in designing more effective interventions.

Abstract

This study examines the management of medical equipment maintenance at Brawijaya Level III Hospital, Surabaya. The study highlights challenges such as limited human resources, budget constraints, and inadequate training for staff responsible for maintaining medical equipment. Although Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for maintenance exist, their implementation is suboptimal and requires regular updates. While the hospital's infrastructure is generally adequate, the need for additional equipment, particularly for digital-based medical devices, is notable. This study suggests that implementing a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) can improve the efficiency of preventive and corrective maintenance processes. Furthermore, improving staff competency through training is crucial to ensuring smooth operational maintenance. Effective maintenance not only improves service quality but also enhances patient safety in hospitals. This study recommends increasing the number of biomedical engineering specialists, regular updates to the maintenance system, and more flexible and responsive budget allocation to ensure sustainable medical facility maintenance.

Abstract

The Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) program is a crucial component in improving the quality of healthcare services and patient safety. This article aims to evaluate the management of the IPC program at Brawijaya Level III Hospital, identify challenges faced in program implementation, and develop strategies that can be adopted to improve program effectiveness. The research method used was a descriptive evaluation with a qualitative approach, involving in-depth interviews with healthcare workers and analysis of relevant documents. The results indicate that the roles and responsibilities of the IPC Committee members are well-defined, and they are responsible for developing IPC policies, monitoring, and routinely evaluating the implementation of infection prevention procedures. However, several units, such as the ICU and Mortuary, have low levels of compliance with the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (around 71%). The main challenges in implementing the IPC program include limited human resources, lack of infrastructure support, and inconsistencies in adherence to standard procedures. Proposed strategies to address these challenges include improving healthcare worker training, optimizing the use of technology, and strengthening cross-departmental collaboration. With the right strategy, it is hoped that PPI management at Brawijaya Level III Hospital can contribute to improving the quality of health services.

Abstract

Good healthcare services are not only provided to patients; they also require documentation containing patient information, known as medical records. Medical records are a comprehensive record of all information and services provided at a healthcare facility, from admission to discharge. These records are crucial and must be properly maintained and managed. One such record is the patient progress note, known as CPPT. Based on a preliminary study conducted through surveys and interviews at Prof. HB. Sa'anin Mental Hospital, incompleteness in the CPPT was still found. Therefore, the authors were interested in conducting research on the completeness of the CPPT, both quantitatively and qualitatively, in the mental health care medical records at Prof. HB. Sa'anin Mental Hospital, Padang City. The study was conducted in March 2024, using a quantitative descriptive method. The study results showed the highest score for identification review was 99% complete, and the lowest score for authentication review was 53% incomplete. The researchers recommended that the head of medical records immediately disseminate medical record guidelines and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for filling out medical records.
