Abstract

This research aims to analyze the effectiveness of the storytelling method in improving the listening and speaking abilities of grade 1 students at SDN 1 Patakaharja. At an early age, language skills, especially listening and speaking, are a very important basis for children's cognitive, social and emotional development. It is believed that the storytelling method can help students develop these two skills in a fun and interactive way. This research used a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design and involved 30 grade 1 students as samples. Data was collected through Pretestt and posttest, observation, and interviews. The research results showed that there was a significant increase in students' listening and speaking abilities after implementing the storytelling method. The average speaking ability score increased from 57.8 to 77.0. This proves that the storytelling method is effective in improving students' language skills speaking. This research suggests that teachers and schools should more often apply storytelling methods in learning to improve students' language skills, and encourages further research to explore the long-term impact and influence on other aspects of skills.

Abstract

Early childhoods’ speaking skill need to be developed from an early age because they learn how to communicate with their environment. This study aims to determine the implementation of interactive stories to improve early childhoods’ speaking skill aged 5–6 years at SPS Tsamrotul Fuad. This study used a qualitative research method with a phenomenological approach. The results showed that the implementation of interactive stories was carried out through the stages of apperception, expressive storytelling, involving early childhoods in dialogue and retelling the story. The use of interactive stories has been proven to improve early childhoods’ courage in speaking, enriching vocabulary, and assisting early childhoods to construct sentences more coherently. In conclusion, the interactive story method is well-implemented to improve early childhoods’ speaking skill and can be used as an alternative learning strategy for teachers to develop early childhoods’ expressive language skills.

Abstract

Early childhood aged 5-6 years have different abilities in interacting. This study aims to determine the implementation of oray-orayan games in developing early childhoods’ social-emotional skill aged 5-6 years in RA Al-Hidayah. This study uses a qualitative research method under a phenomenological approach. The results of the study show that the implementation of oray-orayan games is going well, which can develop early childhoods’ social-emotional aged 5-6 years at RA Al-Hidayah. In addition, there are obstacles in implementing oray-orayan game, in the form of early childhood’s difficulties in following the rules of oray-orayan game. To overcome, the researchers used a simulation technique combined with role-playing strategies and giving feedback in the form of applause and love emoji stickers. In conclusion, oray-orayan game combined with simulation techniques, role-playing, and given feedback in the form of applause and love emoji stickers can develop early childhoods’ social-emotional skill aged 5-6 years at RA Al-Hidayah.

Abstract

Project-based Learning (PjBL) method is one of the learning methods that focuses on student-centered learning. This research aims to find out the early childhoods’ social-emotional development aged 5-6 years before and after using the Project-based Learning method at PAUD Al-Barkah, as well as to find out the effect of using the Project-based Learning method on the early childhoods’ social-emotional development aged 5-6 years at PAUD Al-Barkah. This research uses a quantitative method with a pre-experimental design. The results of the study show that based on the t-test results, it is stated that t-count > t-table, 12.860 > 2.086 at a significance level of 0.05, indicating that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of the Project-based Learning method has a significant effect on the early childhoods’ social-emotional development aged 5-6 years at PAUD Al-Barkah.
