Abstract

This study aimed to investigate how the TikTok social media platform influences the development of Indonesian language among students, the role of TikTok in shaping language subcultures in campus communities, and the potential negative impacts of students' language use on TikTok. The study used a qualitative descriptive approach with a case study design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and open-ended questionnaires. The results of the study showed that TikTok can be a positive force for language development, as it can encourage creativity, self-expression, and the use of new terms and phrases. However, TikTok can also have negative impacts, such as the use of offensive language, the loss of linguistic authenticity, and the creation of a poor digital footprint.

Abstract

This paper discussed adequate funding panacea for development of educational administration and planning programme in tertiary institutions in Nigeria. Secondary data were used in the paper. The secondary data were collected from print and online publications. The paper noted that adequate funding of educational administration and planning programme in tertiary institutions will lead to availability of funds for effective administration of educational administration and planning programme, employment of adequate academic staff, provision of modern infrastructure facilities, effective staff training, provision of adequate instructional materials and development of research in educational administration and planning programme. Based on the points identified in the paper, the paper hereby recommended that the governments should increase budgetary allocation for tertiary institutions and preference should be given to educational administration and planning programme which will lead to adequate funds for effective administration, employment of adequate lecturers and provision of infrastructure facilities, instructional resources and development of research programme in educational administration and planning programme.

Abstract

Radio El John 95.9 FM Palembang is one of the audio media in the city of Palembang. As the only radio that disseminates information about tourism, El John radio certainly has a strategy in its broadcasting. This is what makes researchers interested in finding out the broadcasting strategy for El John 95.9 FM Palembang radio as a tourism medium. This research uses a qualitative approach method. The theory used in this research is a theory developed by Phil Jones which dissects communication strategy into five stages, namely analysis and strategic planning (strategic analysis and planning), strategic design and implementation planning (strategic design amd implementation planning), launching or use of strategies (launching the strategy), follow-up and commitment (follow-up and commitment), and finally the provision of tracking strategies and results (embedding the strategy and tracking results). The results of the research concluded that El John radio, in its broadcast strategy as a tourism medium, makes great use of the latest technology to disseminate information, starting from conventional radio, radiostreaming online, radio apps, social media. In the broadcast, the announcer conveys information enthusiastically and cheerfully so that listeners are interested and enthusiastic about listening to the broadcast. Apart from that, the announcer also often uses interactive sentences, so that the listeners feel like they are being spoken to by the broadcaster. El John Radio also directs throughoutcrew to create tourism content when they are at tourist attractions in order to reach a wider audience so that the goal of El John radio to revive and preserve existing tourist attractions can be realized.

Abstract

Islamic Da'wah is often carried out to spread Islamic knowledge, namely the process of inviting or persuading someone to consciously accept and adhere to a religion in order to awaken and restore a person's innate potential. and live a happy life in this world and the hereafter. The purpose of this research is to determine the da'wah message and communication strategy in the Habib Ja'far and Onad login podcast in the social interaction "Strengthen the Faith Podcast Full of Pitfalls". This research uses descriptive qualitative methods, collecting data through observation, interviews and documentation. The results of the research show that: (1) The preaching message in Habib Ja'far and Onad's login podcast in the social interaction "Strengthen the Faith Podcast is Full of Pitfalls" is divided into three aspects: moral message, sharia message, and faith message. First, the moral message found concerns the value of tolerance as a form of learning about differences. Second, the sharia message about the value of patience, especially in the form of learning the differences in fasting. Fasting becomes a barrier that breaks down the walls of tolerance, mutual trust, mutual understanding and mutual respect. Third, the message of faith in the #LogIndiCloseTheDoor podcast seems to be about the value of tolerance in the form of recognizing differences, especially religious differences. Different religions may have different tastes and sensitivities but religious beliefs should not be a problem and (2) Habib Husein Ja'far Al-Hadar's preaching communication strategy in the #LogIndiCloseTheDoor and Onad podcast is preaching using media, preaching using humor, adapting material da'wah with mad'u needs, preaching using correct words, preaching with direct, effective and clear words, preaching with good, polite and not harsh words, preaching using a simple appearance, preaching using attractive titles, and preaching discuss interesting topics.

Abstract

Social media is a type of cyber media whose presence is in line with the development of information technology, especially the internet. Social media is present and changing the communication paradigm in today's society. Communication is not limited by distance, time or space, it can occur anywhere, at any time, without having to meet face to face. This social media not only contains information that is accessed by the public (netizens) but on the other hand, anyone can produce content and distribute it. Social media is also a place to build one's self-image in front of other people. This building of popularity and existence is a matter of satisfaction for most people. Instagram is one of the social media that is popular with Indonesians. . Instagram is a social media application that is used to share photos and videos. Instagram is a promising tool for various accounts such as entertainment and online shops. And promotional events. The need for information is basic for humans today. Humans rely on information to fulfill various needs such as increasing knowledge, improving skills, reducing uncertainty, gaining satisfaction and so on. Bebajoemputan Palembang shop promotes its products using Instagram to maintain the existence of local jumputan cloth culture and encourage local brands to develop rapidly. Jumputan cloth has high historical and cultural value, witnessing the history of Palembang for hundreds of years. Jumputan is a way of applying decoration to textiles by tying certain parts together and then dipping them in dye.

Abstract

This research is entitled "Semiotic Analysis in the Animated Film The Anthem of the Hear". The aim of this research is to determine the meaning of denotation, connotation and myth in the animated film The Anthem Of The Heart. Researchers use descriptive qualitative methods by recording, analyzing, describing the meanings contained in animated films using Roland Barthes' theory of semiotic analysis, namely by analyzing the meaning of denotation, connotation and myth. The data sources used in this research are primary and secondary data. Data collection techniques were carried out by documenting and watching the animated film The Anthem Of The Heart. The research results show that Roland Barthes's semiotics is interesting to use in analyzing a film and has a clear meaning that can be seen from every scene that the researcher analyzes regarding the meaning of denotation, connotation and myth in the animated film The Anthem Of The Heart. The meaning of denotation is a sign that is visible to the five senses, such as images of palaces and outstretched hands, then the meaning of connotation requires a deeper understanding of the meaning of denotation where the meaning of connotation can give rise to various meanings depending on the point of view of the person giving the meaning. The meaning of myth is formed from the meaning of denotation and connotation. According to Barthes, myth is not always related to culture or customs but is also related to ideology that spreads in wider society. It can be seen in the nine scenes that researchers analyzed, such as myths about crying, helping hands, and divorce.

Abstract

Mass communication broadly is an activity carried out between one or more people to convey messages through print, electronic or digital mass media with the expectation of reciprocity. One of the media used to convey messages is film. Film is a mass media that is considered effective in conveying messages compared to other communication media. Film is a new means used to disseminate entertainment that has become a previous habit, as well as presenting stories, events, music, drama, comedy and other technical presentations to the general public. Films not only serve entertainment functions, but also contain informative, educative and even persuasive functions. In the current era, there are many types of films that educate film lovers, especially in Indonesia. There are various types of films including drama, romance, comedy, action and horror, such as the film Miracle Baby 2023. The film Miracle Baby 2023 is one of the Indonesian horror films which will be shown in Indonesian cinemas in January 2023, which tells the story of two young people. -sama wants to become rich, but in the wrong way. This magical baby film also contains many moral messages. Moral messages are statements that convey instructions, regulations, or invitations regarding societal conventions, morality, and culture so that humans can live better and as material for self-evaluation in actions. The moral messages contained in the 2023 Magic Baby Film are: 1) moral messages in the category of human relationships with God , 2) moral messages in the category of human relationships messages in the category of human relationships with themselves, and 3) moral messages in the category of human relationships with other humans.

Abstract

The emergence of social media is one of the results of the very rapid development of the internet and technology. Instagram is one of the most popular social media platforms for tourism promotion because it allows the rapid dissemination of information. Green Paradise Tourism is one type of tourism that uses Instagram as a promotional tool. The aim of this research is to find out how managers use social media to promote their tourism, as well as supporting and inhibiting factors in using Instagram. This research uses a qualitative method that uses a descriptive approach. The data collection methods used were interviews, observation and documentation. The research results show that: (1) Instagram is very effective as a promotional platform by using its features such as photo titles or captions, hashtags, Instagram stories, reposts and reels, as well as using the AIDA concept (Attention, Interest, Desire, Action) to attract followers' attention. (2) Factors that support the use of Instagram social media to promote Green Paradise Tourism in Pagar Alam City are promotions using its features such as photo titles or captions. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors are the content to be posted and promoted as well as competition with destinations, especially with more aggressive promotional tactics or greater attractiveness.

Abstract

This research discusses the hijab trend which is increasingly widespread and can be found anywhere, this research was conducted in Mesuji Jaya Village, District. Mesuji Jaya District. Ogan Komering Ilir. The problem in this research is that there are many hijab trends that are widespread and can be found not only in traditional markets but can be found throughout social media such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, online shops and so on, so they have an impact on husband and wife relationships. The aim of this research is to determine the impact of the hijab trend on husband and wife relationships. Data collection tools include interviews, observation and documentation. This research uses qualitative research, namely research that uses a natural setting with the aim of interpreting phenomena that occur and is carried out using various existing methods. So, the data from this research was taken and obtained directly from original sources (not through intermediaries), the data sources in this research were divided into two, namely the first primary data source which was obtained directly from interviews conducted offline and online, while secondary data used as a complement to this research, for example pictures, tables, charts, researchers' data documents. From this research it can be concluded that the impact of the hijab trend on husband and wife relations has two impacts, namely positive and negative impacts. The positive impact can be seen from two aspects, namely the physical aspect (body image component) and the psychological aspect (self-esteem component and role component) in this case it can be seen by the increasingly widespread hijab trend then wives use the hijab to beautify themselves, to maintain The self-esteem and honor of herself and her husband is then done to prove the loyalty, obedience and cooperation carried out by the wife in order to create a harmonious relationship. The negative impact can be seen from the economic aspect where wives tend to be wasteful when managing household finances in order to fulfill their own egos.

Abstract

This research is entitled "Orchid Souvenir Marketing Communication Strategy in Promoting Products". The aim of this research is to find out what marketing communication strategies Anggrek Souvenir uses in promoting products. This research uses descriptive qualitative methods, collecting data through observation, interviews and documentation. This research uses the concept of marketing mix theory and promotion mix. The results of this research, Orchid Souvenir, apply the concept of marketing mix theory which consists of product, price, place and promotion. and the concept of promotional mix theory, namely advertising, sales promotion, personal/face-to-face selling, public relations and direct marketing to promote products to buyers. Of all the promotional mixes implemented by Anggrek Souvenir, the advertising strategy carried out by posting product photos on social media is not very active and utilized, even though nowadays other business people use social media to promote their products. However, sales promotion is the most effective strategy used by Anggrek Souvenir in promoting its products.
