Abstract

Hypertension is a health problem in all parts of the world and is one of the main risk factors for cardiovascular disease. The factors that influence hypertension are genetics, age, gender, ethnicity, obesity, lifestyle, and food intake. The therapy that is often used by the community is cucumber which is very good for consumption for people with hypertension. The purpose of this study was to identify the effect of cucumber juice therapy on reducing blood pressure in patients at the Internal Medicine Polyclinic of the Meranti Islands District Hospital. This research was conducted at the Internal Medicine Poly Hospital of Meranti Islands Regency, the sampling technique using accidental sampling technique, with the number of respondents 30 people. The research design used is a quasi-experimental design (one group pretest–posttest). Data collection tools are GEA brand sphygmomanometer, stethoscope, observation sheet and SOP on how to make cucumber juice which were analyzed by univariate and bivariate dependent t-test (paired t test). The results of this study found that there was an effect of cucumber juice therapy on reducing blood pressure in patients at the Internal Medicine Clinic at the Meranti Islands District Hospital both systole and diastole (p=0.000). It is hoped that this will become the basis for the Meranti Islands District Hospital to be a reference so that cucumber juice therapy can be a complementary intervention and a room SOP is made for this intervention.

Abstract

Introducing sex education to early childhood involves providing an understanding of their body, recognizing the opposite gender, and learning how to protect themselves from sexual abuse, thereby mitigating the occurrence of sexual violence and criminal acts. This research aimed to determine the effectiveness of the Smart Book media in introducing sex education to Group B1 children at TK IK Nurul Qur'an, Aceh Besar. The study employed a quantitative method with a one-group pre-test and post-test experimental design. A sample of 16 children was observed, and data were analyzed statistically. The results revealed that the Smart Book media effectively enhanced children's understanding of sex education, as evidenced by an increase in the average pre-test score (9) to the post-test score (13.5). Statistical hypothesis testing indicated significant effectiveness, with a calculated t-value of -18.933 and a significance value ≤ 0.01 (df = 15, t-table = 1.753). Thus, the hypothesis was accepted, indicating significant effectiveness of Smart Book media in improving sex education comprehension among 5-6-year-old children.

Abstract

Oral motor skills for babies aged 6-12 months can be improved by providing stimulation such as baby-led weaning, which is a method of eating activities that introduces healthy family foods that are often consumed by families in the form of finger foods and gives children the opportunity to eat on their own from the start of the process of introducing complementary foods. breast milk. The aim of this research was to determine the effect of the baby-led weaning method on oral motor skills in babies 6-12 months in the UPTD Work Area of the East Peureulak Health Center. The research design used in this research is quasi-experimental with a one group pretest-posttest approach. The population in this study were all 127 babies aged 6-12 months in the East Peureulak Health Center Working Area. The number of samples in this study was 15 babies 6-12 months. The sampling technique in this research used purposive sampling. Data analysis was carried out univariate and bivariate using the Wilcoxon test. The results of the study showed that the oral motor skills of babies aged 6-12 months before being given the baby led weaning method were 6.6 with a standard deviation of 0.737 and a Confidence Interval of 5-8 and after being given the baby led weaning method was 7.4 with a standard deviation of 0.516 and Confidence Intervals 7-8. There is an effect of baby-led weaning on oral motor skills in babies 6-12 months with a p-value of 0.004 (p<0.05). It is hoped that parents can use baby-led weaning as an option method for providing MPASI to stimulate children's motor skills, increase children's appetite, train children to recognize food textures, and must still be under the supervision of competent health workers

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explore the power of a school university partnership mediated by lesson study (SUPER-LS) in improving pre-service mathematics teachers’ subject matter knowledge (SMK). This study implemented the SUPER-LS program with 10 pre-services teachers (PSTs), 10 in-service teachers (ISTs) and knowledgeable others to accomplish this objective. The study was executed in two phases: one at the school and the other at the university. Throughout the program, they designed a mathematics curriculum based on the concepts of Realistic Mathematics Education (RME), facilitated an open class, and engaged in post-lesson discussions throughout two cycles of lesson study. Data were collected through observations of lesson study activities and objects, and analyzed using transcript-based lesson study following MKT framework. The study revealed that the SUPER-LS program can enhance collaboration among PSTs to augment their Subject Matter Knowledge (SMK), with specialized content knowledge (SCK) being predominant. Nonetheless, a follow-up program to guarantee that PSTs have rigorous training is essential.

Abstract

Mathematics learning is one of the learning that is difficult for high school students to understand, both in understanding the material and when solving problems such as in derivative material so that students need high learning motivation and are able to help students become more confident in learning mathematics. The purpose of this study was to determine the use of the mathway application on derivative material in mathematics learning for high school students. The method in this study is quantitative quasi-experimental. The data collection techniques used were pretest and posttest tests, as well as questionnaires. The population in this study were all students of grade XI. However, the samples were: students of grade XI IPA 3 (36 people) as the experimental class and students of grade XI IPA 2 (32 people) as the control class. The results of this study showed the provision of pretest and posttest in the experimental class (XI IPA 3) through treatment with the use of the mathway application so that the difference in pretest and posttest values was obtained to see their learning motivation. The learning motivation of the experimental class was 52.61 and for the control class (XI IPA 2) it was 46.31. Furthermore, for the analysis of the questionnaire given to students in the experimental class, the average value of the questionnaire was 74.25 with a good category. The conclusion of this study is that the use of the Mathway application has an effect on the learning motivation of high school students in the derivative material as evidenced by the difference in the pretest-posttest scores of the experimental class and the control class and the average value of the questionnaire. The suggestion in this study is that there needs to be an adjustment to the use of the Mathway application in mathematics learning and it is necessary to conduct a re-examination of the use of the Mathway application to see students' learning motivation in mathematics learning using different materials and methods.

Abstract

This research aims to improve and improve learning outcomes in the learning process which leads to improving mathematics learning outcomes by implementing the Realistic Mathematics Learning Approach implemented by researchers at SD Negeri 15 Banda Aceh City. The subjects in this research were 35 grade IV students and the object of this research was realistic mathematics learning for the 2024/2025 academic year. From the results of data analysis, it shows that during the pre-test before the action was taken, out of 35 students, there were 2 students who completed the study with an average class score of 35.85 and a classical completion level of 5.71%. Furthermore, in cycle I, after implementing realistic mathematics learning, the average class score increased to 68.28 with a classical completion level of 65.71% and the number of students who completed it was 23 students. And after the actions were taken and the second cycle post test was given, learning results were obtained with the class average value increasing to 77.57 and 31 people completed it with a classical completion level of 88.57%. From the results of observations that have been made, it shows that in the first cycle of analysis the achievement obtained by teachers was 2.76 and students obtained 2.44, which means it was still in the poor category. In cycle II, the data from student and teacher observations improved to good. Where the good activity category increased from 2.76 to 3.70 for students and from 2.44 to 3.44 for teachers. Based on the results of this research, it can be concluded that the application of a realistic mathematics learning model can improve student learning outcomes in the operational material for calculating the addition of fractions in class IV of SD Negeri 15 Banda Aceh City.
