Abstract

The moral development of students in Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) is an essential aspect of Islamic education, especially amidst the challenges of moral degradation, digital disruption, and social changes that influence the value systems of the younger generation. As Islamic educational institutions based on values ​​and traditions, pesantren play a strategic role in shaping the character of students based on Islamic values ​​while also being adaptive to current developments. This article aims to examine the conceptual model of moral development of students in Islamic boarding schools and the strategy of character education based on Islamic values ​​that are relevant to the contemporary context. This research uses a qualitative-descriptive approach through literature study (library research). Data were obtained from reputable journal articles, classic and contemporary books, and Islamic education policy documents. The results of the study indicate that the moral development of students in Islamic boarding schools is implemented through an integrative and holistic model, including role models (uswah ḥasanah), daily habits and discipline, spiritual strengthening through worship and etiquette, and support from the pesantren environment and culture as a hidden curriculum. The strategy of character education based on Islamic values ​​is strengthened through the synergistic integration of moral values ​​in formal, non-formal, and informal education. The conclusion of this article confirms that Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) possess structural and cultural advantages in sustainably fostering the moral character of their students. The Islamic boarding school moral development model contributes to the enrichment of Islamic character education theory and has the potential to serve as a conceptual reference for strengthening character education in a broader educational context.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengkaji dan mengembangkan desain pembelajaran  di Madrasah Diniyah (Madin) Nur Iman yang berorientasi pada tarbiyah (pembinaan pribadi) dan amal (praktek). Penelitian menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Subjek penelitian adalah Ustadz , siswa, dan pengelola Madrasah Diniyah Nur Iman. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Kajian pustaka melibatkan teori tarbiyah Islam, pembelajaran berbasis praktek, serta dalil Al-Qur'an dan Hadis yang mendukung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa desain pembelajaran yang ada menunjukkan bahwa Pembelajaran berbasis tarbiyah (melalui pembinaan akhlak dan keimanan) dan amal (melalui kegiatan sosial dan penerapan ajaran) berpengaruh terhadap tingkah laku dan kepribadin peserta didik yang sudah mencerminkan tarbiyah disertai penerapan amal, sebagaimana yang diharapkan susun oleh lembaga tersebut. Desain yang dikembangkan mencakup tujuan terpadu, materi yang terhubung dengan kehidupan, metode variatif (studi kasus, kerja nyata, refleksi), dan penilaian berbasis kinerja. Kesimpulan penelitian adalah desain pembelajaran  berbasis tarbiyah dan amal efektif untuk meningkatkan pemahaman, akhlak, dan kesadaran sosial siswa Madrasah Diniyah Nur Iman.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of entrepreneurship education and creativity on entrepreneurial interest through self-efficacy as a mediating variable in Students of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Jakarta State University, Class of 2022. The population in this study were students of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Jakarta State University, Class of 2022. The sampling technique used was non-probability sampling with a purposive sampling method, resulting in a sample size of 294 respondents. Data collection was carried out through a questionnaire using a Likert scale. This study used a Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) data analysis technique with a Partial Least Square (PLS) approach, which was analyzed using SmartPLS software version 4. The results of this study indicate that entrepreneurship education and creativity have a positive and significant influence on entrepreneurial interest. Furthermore, self-efficacy has been shown to mediate the influence of entrepreneurship education and creativity on entrepreneurial interest.

Abstract

Multicultural education is an important approach to instilling empathy in the midst of Indonesia’s diverse society. Teachers play a strategic role as agents of change in shaping students’ character to live harmoniously alongside various backgrounds. This study aims to describe the role of teachers in developing students’ empathy through multicultural education at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah in Padang Lawas Regency. The research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive method, and data collection techniques include observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that teachers are aware of the importance of diversity as part of the educational process and integrate empathy values into learning through strategies such as cross-background group discussions, the use of folklore, and reflective activities. Teachers also serve as role models in inclusive and fair attitudes toward all students. The success of teachers is supported by an open school environment, madrasah policy support, and personal commitment, although obstacles such as limited training and time constraints remain. This study concludes that the role of teachers is crucial in fostering student empathy through continuous multicultural education.

Abstract

Student discipline is one of the important factors in supporting the success of the learning process in elementary schools. However, in reality, there is still a low level of student discipline, particularly in terms of punctuality, compliance with rules, and responsibility in completing assignments. This study aims to improve student discipline through the application of the Reflective Pedagogy Paradigm model to third-grade students at SDN 0107 Tanjung Botung. The research method used was Classroom Action Research (CAR), which was carried out in two cycles, with each cycle covering the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the application of the Reflective Pedagogy Paradigm model was able to significantly improve student discipline, as seen from the increase in punctuality, compliance with school rules, and student responsibility in completing tasks. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the Reflective Pedagogy Paradigm model is effective as an alternative learning strategy to foster and improve student discipline in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study discusses Hans-Georg Gadamer's philosophical hermeneutics as an important approach to understanding texts and human experience. Starting from Gadamer's critique of positivism and methodological objectivism, this paper asserts that understanding is not merely a technical process, but rather an ontological event that is always bound to history, language, and tradition. Through key concepts such as fusion of horizons (Horizontverschmelzung), prejudice (Vorurteil), and historical effect (Wirkungsgeschichte), Gadamer shows that the meaning of a text is not static, but rather continues to live in a dialogue between the text and its readers. This study uses a qualitative approach with a literature review method to analyze Gadamer's major works and relevant secondary literature. The results of the study show that Gadamer's hermeneutics has made a significant contribution in shifting the understanding of hermeneutics from a methodological framework to a dialogical, reflective, and contextual philosophical approach, making it relevant to the study of philosophy, humanities, and contemporary religious studies.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low social skills of MTS Al-Hidayah students. One of the efforts to improve social skills in this study is by implementing outdoor education activities. One of the main objectives of this outdoor activity is to involve students in productive activities, because through sports and recreational activities, it can contribute to the development of social, emotional, and behavioral skills. This study aims to determine the effect of outdoor education activities on social skills in MTS Al-Hidayah students. The study was conducted using a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental type and one group pretest posttest design on 24 grade VII MTS Al-Hidayah students with a sampling technique using cluster sampling. Data related to social skills in this study were collected using a non-test instrument, namely a social skills questionnaire. The results of data analysis using the two-mean difference test on the social skills variable found a difference in the mean in the pretest and posttest by obtaining a sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.00 <0.05, meaning Ho is rejected so that it can be concluded that there is a significant effect of outdoor education activities on social skills in MTS Al-Hidayah students.

Abstract

Perkawinan adat Lampung merupakan bagian integral dari hukum adat yang mencerminkan nilai-nilai sosial, moral, dan spiritual masyarakat Lampung. Dalam era modernisasi, sistem perkawinan tradisional ini mengalami perubahan yang cukup signifikan, baik dalam praktik upacara maupun dalam makna filosofisnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bentuk-bentuk perubahan serta keberlanjutan nilai-nilai adat dalam sistem perkawinan masyarakat Lampung pada era modern. Metode penelitian yang digunakan meliputi pendekatan normatif dan empiris melalui studi literatur serta wawancara dengan tokoh adat di wilayah Lampung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa meskipun beberapa tahapan upacara mengalami penyederhanaan, nilai-nilai adat yang esensial seperti penghormatan terhadap keluarga, tanggung jawab moral, dan prinsip musyawarah tetap dipertahankan. Dengan demikian, hukum adat Lampung terbukti mampu beradaptasi tanpa kehilangan identitas budaya di tengah arus modernisasi yang terus berkembang.

Abstract

Walimah or wedding celebrations are one of the sunnah practices in Islam that have religious and social dimensions. However, in contemporary society, their meaning has often shifted to become an event of prestige and a symbol of social status. This shift has the potential to cause waste and economic burdens that are not in line with the principles of Islamic law. This study aims to examine the position of walimah from the perspective of Islamic law and analyze the principles and practices of its implementation in modern society. The research method used is a qualitative approach with library research, with data sources in the form of the Qur'an, Hadith, classical fiqh books, and relevant contemporary scientific literature. Data analysis was conducted descriptively and analytically using a normative-juridical approach. The results of the study show that walimah is considered a highly recommended sunnah mu'akkadah, with the main principles of implementation being simplicity, affordability, and benefit, as well as the prohibition of extravagance (israf and tabzir) However, the practice of walimah in society often deviates from this principle due to the influence of customs and social pressure. This study concludes that the implementation of walimah can accept elements of local customs and culture as long as they do not conflict with Sharia values, so that walimah should ideally be returned to its essence as a means of gratitude, announcement of marriage, and strengthening of social solidarity.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relevance of the values of manners (adab) and respect (takzim) in the book Ta’lim al-Muta’allim by Imam Az-Zarnuji to the concept of the blessings of knowledge in the context of contemporary Islamic education. Amid the modernization of education, which tends to emphasize cognitive and pragmatic aspects, the spiritual dimension in the form of the blessings of knowledge has become increasingly marginalized. This study uses a qualitative approach through library research with content analysis techniques on the text of Ta’lim al-Muta’allim and relevant supporting literature. The results of the study indicate that manners and respect from Az-Zarnuji’s perspective are not merely social ethics, but fundamental prerequisites for achieving the blessings of knowledge. These blessings manifest through sincerity of intention, respect for teachers, and the honoring of knowledge and books. These values remain relevant and applicable in modern education as a foundation for shaping students’ character
