Abstract

This study examines the implications of VAT increases and global price volatility on middle-class consumption behavior and the urban inflation rate in West Java. Using a quantitative approach, data from 200 respondents were analyzed via Structural Equation Modeling - Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The results reveal that VAT increases significantly influence both middle-class consumption patterns and urban inflation, with stronger effects compared to global price volatility. VAT adjustments impact household spending priorities and contribute to inflationary pressures in urban areas, while global price fluctuations moderately affect consumption behavior and inflation through external market dependencies. These findings underscore the need for balanced fiscal policies and strategies to manage external economic shocks to ensure urban economic stability and resilience.

Abstract

This study presents a bibliometric analysis of global research on oil palm, food security, and bioenergy, aiming to map the intellectual structure, thematic evolution, and collaboration networks in this multidisciplinary domain. Using data from the Scopus database (2000–2024) and analyzed through VOSviewer, the study identifies key trends, influential authors, and emerging research themes. The results reveal that early research predominantly focused on the role of palm oil in biodiesel and biofuel production, while recent studies increasingly emphasize environmental sustainability, waste-to-energy technologies, and circular economy principles. Core keywords such as palm oil, bioenergy, and biodiesel remain central, with newer themes like anaerobic digestion and greenhouse gas gaining momentum. Malaysia leads in publication output and collaboration intensity, followed by the United States and the Netherlands. Despite robust growth in bioenergy-related research, the food security dimension remains underexplored. The study highlights the need for more integrated, socially inclusive, and geographically diverse research to support sustainable palm oil systems in the context of global food–energy–land challenges.

Abstract

This study presents a bibliometric analysis of research on human capital development in developing countries, utilizing data from the Scopus database and visualization tools from VOSviewer. By examining 1,842 scholarly publications from 2000 to 2024, the analysis identifies key themes, influential authors, collaboration patterns, and temporal trends in the literature. The findings highlight that “human capital” is closely interlinked with core concepts such as “economic development,” “education,” and “sustainable development,” reflecting its central role in the discourse on inclusive growth. Over time, research has expanded to encompass newer topics like “innovation,” “climate change,” and “foreign direct investment,” indicating a shift toward integrative and forward-looking frameworks. Co-authorship and country collaboration maps reveal a dominant role of developed nations, particularly the United States, but also an encouraging rise in contributions from emerging economies in Africa and Asia. While the literature is increasingly diversified and collaborative, gaps remain in gendered analysis, informal labor perspectives, and South–South knowledge production. This study underscores the need for more inclusive, interdisciplinary, and context-sensitive approaches to advance the human capital agenda in developing countries.

Abstract

This study presents a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of global research on retirement planning and financial stability, using data retrieved from the Scopus database and visualized through VOSviewer. The analysis reveals a multidimensional scholarly landscape structured around key themes such as social security systems, financial behavior, psychological readiness, and health-related factors. Findings indicate a significant shift in research focus over the past decade—from institutional and policy-oriented approaches to individual-centric perspectives emphasizing financial literacy, retirement planning, and investment strategies. Influential authors including Mitchell, Lusardi, and Hershey have shaped the intellectual development of the field through interdisciplinary contributions. The United States dominates both in publication output and international collaboration, although emerging participation from countries such as India and Thailand suggests increasing global interest. The study identifies critical research gaps in digital financial tools, informal employment contexts, and health-retirement linkages, calling for more inclusive and forward-looking studies. These insights offer valuable guidance for researchers, policymakers, and practitioners in designing effective strategies to promote financial security in retirement.

Abstract

Anger behavior in the elderly must be addressed due to its negative impact on physical, psychological, and social well-being. Recurrent anger can disrupt social relationships, trigger chronic stress, and reduce overall quality of live. One potential solution to manage this problem is phychosocial therapy. This study investigates the effectiveness of DB-SEFT therapy (Deep Breathing combined with Spiritual Emotional Freedom Technique) in reducing anger behavior among the elderly. A quantitative approach with an experimental method was used, employing a Single Subject Design (SSD) with a Reversal A-B-A model. Data were collected through tally behavior observation sheet focused on specific anger behaviors such as yelling, insulting, grumbling, and throwing objects. DB-SEFT therapy integrates deep breathing, dzikir (Islamic chanting), and prayer with the SEFT steps: setup, tune-in, and tapping—modified to suit the elderly. The participants were older adults living at Sentra Terpadu Pangudi Luhur (STPL) Bekasi, Indonesia. Findings revealed a decrease in the frequency of anger behaviors following the intervention, as shown through graphical trend analysis and comparisons within and between conditions. The therapy is simple, adaptable, and can be practiced independently or with assistance from a therapist. DB-SEFT is recommended as an alternative psychosocial intervention for reducing anger in the elderly.

Abstract

Narrative Empty Chair Relaxation Therapy (NECRT) is an innovative psychosocial intervention that integrates the empty chair technique with relaxation methods, specifically guided imagery and deep breathing exercises, supported by narrative guidance appropriate for children. NECRT aims to address aggressive behavior in children who have experienced physical abuse, often rooted in unresolved emotional trauma. This therapy is designed to help clients explore emotions, develop empathy, and foster self-reflection, enabling them to understand the consequences of their actions, reduce defensive mechanisms, and develop healthy conflict resolution skills. This study employed a quantitative approach using a Single Subject Reversal Design (A-B-A). The participants included MRA, ZN, and RA, with observations focusing on verbal and non verbal manifestations of aggressive behavior. The validity of the measurement instruments was assessed using the percent agreement method, and data analysis was conducted through visual inspection within and across conditions. The findings demonstrated that NECRT effectively reduced aggressive behaviors, showing a positive trend in behavior improvement and a maximum overlap percentage between conditions of 28.57%.
